Have you seen any celeberties?
Lmao how could you forget Robert Plant he's a legend! I met Gordon Brown (our soon to be Prime Minister) twice he gave a presentation and spoke to a few of us and then about a year later he opened our new school. I went to school with Scott Brown (Scottish footballer). Oh and I met Gordon Strachan while shopping on Princes Street in Edinburgh last year.

Reality TV show for Kidney
Lmao I have to grudgingly applaud them for having the audacity to pull off such a hoax, it's been a great way to incite debate about organ donation.
-
Reality TV show for Kidney
I'll concede that the show has brought alot of attention to the issue but I just find the fact that a media company is set to profit from such a terrible situation a little disturbing.

Reality TV show for Kidney
Thats still besides the point. Somebody on the waiting list would have recieved the kidney(s). Just because the competitors are more likely to receive a kidney via this show does not make it a valid exercise in organ donation. I think it's a sorry state of affairs when a person in need of an organ is forced to jump through hoops and plead in order to get an organ on TV. Also I wonder how many other people in need of organs were rejected by this show because they didn't fit the criteria, what makes these three patients more valid than the others - I'm sure it'll be decided on how they'll come across on television. If anything this further devalues the organ donation service as this isn't going to help push down waiting lists and it may even serve to discourage potential donors in the long run by trivialising the whole process.

Reality TV show for Kidney
You're missing the point though. By following regular proceedure somebody would have received the kidney's anyway. However, Endemol are exploiting a dying woman and turning life and death into a tv special in order to pusue profit (I'm sure the given a token sum to charity and to the womans family but they'll still profit). It's presenting the life and death of human being as a trivial form of entertainment - it's no more humane than the Roman Colloseum.
-
Reality TV show for Kidney
Yeah it's a sad reflection of where society is headed when life and death becomes a tv show. It's not surprising though considering that it's Endemol that are producing this 'extravaganza.' I'm so glad that this sort of thing is illegal in the UK (under the Human Tissues Act).

Article in Daily Mirror
I wouldn't be bothered if it was in a natural enviroment. In nature the cow would have the possibility (however slim) to escape and survive, this isn't possible in this case which makes it redundant as a hunt. Also in nature the lions would be able to eat the cow which in this case they are seemingly unable to do. Hence it is not a natural situation of even a sufficient imitation of one.
-
Article in Daily Mirror
Once the lions get to the cow I don't think there is going to much left for you to cook/eat. If this is true then it's cruel on the lions as well. They don't kill for the hell of it, they do it for food. To put prey in with them and then stop them eating it is a form of mental torture.

Spiderman 4, Plausable?
As long as the films remain profitable then the studio will see no reason not to make more Spiderman films. Fair enough it may not be for some years and most likely with a whole new cast but this has happened before - just look at the new Superman film. Even when they become stale all it takes is a few patient years until people want to see Spidey again.

Smoking
I don't have a problem with smokers or people smoking as long as they are considerate towards non-smokers. At the end of the day as long as it doesn't harm you personally then it's really none of your business what other people do to themselves.

The worst sequals ever made
It is logical to compare a sequel with the original, I just feel that a good sequels should be good enough to stand up in their own right without relying too much on the reputation/quality of what came before it. I just don't believe in selling something off the back of something else. Sequels in my opinion, should ideally seek to be quality films in their own right. I think the basis of my opinion comes from seeing alot of sequels on TV then backtracking to see the original afterwards.

American's soon need Homeland Security approval
Lmao it's laughable that they think that these sorts of measures will be effective. I can't imagine a "terrorist" looking at the form and throwing up his arms shouting "okay you caught me out I'm a dirty low-life terrorist." All this is, is an attempt to block certain people who don't agree with the US government from getting jobs. Watch it'll be so well exploited.

The worst sequals ever made
I liked the third Godfather film. I think alot of people didn't like it because they expected to see Micael Corleone going about doing the same sort of stuff as he did in 1 & 2 - ruthless killing of anybody who crossed his. However, you can't do that 20 years later because people change. He's become an old man who's questioning what he's done with his life and since he's a religious man he has to wonder about how god will percieve what he has done (for instance killing his own brother). He has to look for forgiveness, for benediction and absolution of his many sins. I think it's a great film in it's own right about a man coming to terms with his live and his own mortality. Don't get me wrong though, it's by no means perfect. Sofia Coppola isn't going to win an Academy Award for her acting but she plods through her role without being too wooden. I think there should have been more of Joe Mantegna to create a bit more tension and the tension between Michael and Vincent could have been developed a bit more (about how Vincent liked Michael's daughter). All in all though I liked Godfather: Part Three, I feel in some way I have to make this impassioned plea when people say that it was a terrible movie. That being said I fully admit that its not as good as the first 2 films but I don't accept that as a basis for writing off number 3. --------------------- I think people should view sequels as stand alone films first and foremost. A good sequel can stand as a single film (if it's good enough) without you needing to see the earlier film. I don't like when people come into a sequel expecting too much off of the back of a previous film. I think it's great when a sequel expands on whats came before, even if that means going in a different direction and doing things differently, people seem to associate change in a sequel with a bad sequel which I just don't get.

The war in iraq, What do you think we should do?
The story of Isreal and the Jews stems some 2,000 years in history. The behaviour of Isreal can partly be explained by the way Jews were persecuted throughout History, firstly in the Roman Empire, then the Christian Church-controlled Middle Ages, the Islamic World, then the Industrial Revolution, Marxism and, obviously, the persecuation of Jews in Nazi Germany. It's understandable that now the Jews actually have a state to call their own, they'll do anything to maintain it. It's almost a sense of paranoia that's developed throughout those 2,000 years. I know what you mean, I understand the deep lying historical backgorund of Israel the effects of its past. I was just reffering to Israel as a nation state (1948?-present) and how other countries allow Israel to do what they want.

The war in iraq, What do you think we should do?
40 people died in those air strikes, yet we only hear how one or 2 Hamas politicians have been died in them. When the palestinians shoot their rockets (which isn't right either), they are criminals. Basically both are doing the same thing, but only Israel's acts are accepted. You can compare that amount to Israel: Yea it's not USA in this case, but it shows the point. When your ally does something, it's ok. The west has always been hypocritical towards Israel, it's almost like no matter how far they go they get away with it. I understand that Israel has alot to put up with but it's absolutely no juistification for some of the things that they get away with.

haha when was that? I'm not sure when it happened but I read about it in the papers a month or two ago (it was during some England cricket game abroad).

The war in iraq, What do you think we should do?
Your only 1 person, so why are you here? Your posts do no matter, your opinions do not count, because your just one person. While to the world your only one, to someone else, your the world. Don't be so ignorant. ~Defender~ I think his point was that soldiers know what they are going into when they join the army, they know the risks (such as going to war) and the possible consquences therefore they cant complain when they have to carry out some ofthe duties they are paid to do. Thats what Malo meant he/she just didn't word it well thats all.

UEFA Champions League/Cup - Euro 2008 - Leagues & Cups
Even better, could you imagine the ridiculous money teams would fork out for a player like Pele or Maradona nowadays?
-
UEFA Champions League/Cup - Euro 2008 - Leagues & Cups
You're forgetting that players nowadays are alot better protected by the rules and referees. If you look at a lot of old football clips and see the challenges that were allowed you'd be horrified. On top of that the old offside rule was so favourable to defences. Plus your forgetting Maradona only retired in '97 its barely even 10 years ago (he played pro until 97 with Boca). If you reckon Maradona can't deal with marking you should see footage of him playing Italy in th 1982 world cup ( I had a tape on VHS), Gentile pratically stalked Maradona (while kicking holes in him). He practically dragged Argentina to the 1986 world cup - even Pele couldn't do that (he was in 3 winning teams alongside greats like Garrincha, Rivelino, Tosao, Jairinho etc.)

Channel 4 done this here, instead of putting on the cricket they put through a live pay per view XXX channel. They were lucky though that it was very early morning so no children were watching.

UEFA Champions League/Cup - Euro 2008 - Leagues & Cups
Great goals by great players who'll hopefully get even better. The biggest question is whether they can get to the level of Pele, or Zidane. I put Zidane in their just to show that goal to be honest, he's not in the same league as Pele or Maradona but in the second tier of great players with Di Stefano, Cruyff etc. in my opinion. (I love the slo mo and Once upon a time in America theme music even if it slightly takes away the beauty of Maradona's goal)

UEFA Champions League/Cup - Euro 2008 - Leagues & Cups
Scottish Cup final on Saturday. Celtic - Dunfermline The Pars will be up for this one so it might not be a walk over you might expect. It's going to be the biggest game the pars will have in a long time, division one football next season. Still can't see them winning it personally, Celtic have been able to grind out so many undeserved victoroes this season when the chips have been down. You never know though.

Baggy pants background
I thought it was because they're not allowed belts in prison (so nobody can hang themselves, strangle others or find a vein to shoot up).

Urgent!!! Anyone dog owners out there? My dog ate...
This really bugs me when people say that. Of course probably no one here has the training, but there are alot of dog owners out there, and know how to handle this situation. It's not like he is asking how to preform an operation or something. It's the same with other health threads, the author should take it with a grain of salt, but some people can be helpful. I know what you mean but I still don't see the point in people asking medical question on an online forum thats mostly made up of young teenagers who are most likely unable to really help. Where as if you called a vet, he/she would be able to give you advice instantly. This isn't a medical forum, its blatantly obvious if you have a medical problem you go to a doctor, if your pet has one you see a vet. However, I was trying to be sympathetic which is why I put my original post the way I did, that might annoy you but my point still stands.
