  1. I mean this in all sincerity & without being dismissive... You really shouldn't be asking here since the posters here don't really have any vetinary training. Call up a vet, (you might be lucky enough to get a 24 hour vet who does home visits) explain whats happened and take his/hers advice.

  3. By making fun of them you're not excactly acting in a mature way yourself.
  4. The problem with younger posters on a forum like this is that they often make misinformed and illogical arguments particularly in political/religious topics (you don't need to look far in OT to find evidence of this). Some young posters also often tend to just recite whatever opinion their parents/teacher/peers have taught them over the years without any real insight or examination of the topic themselves. Don't get me wrong, older posters are also suseptible to making misinformed and illogical arguments but it's far more prevalent amongst youngsters.
  5. I don't think you've done anything illegal but you have to remember that internally schools are a law unto themselves. If they want to give you detention for that they most likely can and will.
  6. I've been on the wrong end of a few beatings & on the the right side as well. The reason why is because I've a short temper, (as mentioned in the short fuse topic) I don't react well to people who try to get a rise out of me, or who try to intimidate me or threaten me in any way. Where I'm from it's no shame to be beaten in a fight, if you run away back off or are bullied/intimidated though, you can become a target because people think they can do it all the time, therefore standing up for yourself is vital. The worst time, was when I was young. A few weeks before, this guy and one of his friends knocked my mate from a tree (he was getting a football out of it), we gave those two a beating and after a few days it had all been forgotten about. Then a few weeks later we were in the street playing football again & one of the guys we beat up deliberately put in an attrocious challenge in order to hurt me. Predictably I reacted but he caught we with a nice punch and then went on to bounce my head off the concrete like a basketball. Another time when I was younger, a guy who lived near my grandmother's jumped me because he hated one of my best friends (who had beaten up recently) and then threatened me a few days afterwards. He regretted it though because the next weekend that I stayed at my grandmother's house my cousin stayed over as well. We saw him and broke his nose. The way I see it, everybody has to take a beating sometime. (I couldn't resist I was watching Goodfellas this morning)
  7. From what source did you get that figure? To increase in population by well over 2 billion in less then 43 years would be unimaginable - in fact the term "going at it like rabbits" would be an understatement. 1970 - 4 billion 2007 - 6.7 billion I stand corrected. It does seem alot though, I didn't think it would be possible to grow so quickly in such a short time.

  9. I watched about 15 mins of that Panorama report & it was quite shocking. I knew Scientology was quite a strange religion but these people were acting like street thugs. They had people; following, intimidating & creating smear campaigns against those who dared to criticise them. What was even worse is that they didn't care if people knew. They had the same one guy following for days, then the guys in the car plus that spokesman guy (the one with the black hair in the Panorama youtube clip) who was desperate to intimidate.
  10. Since this is for algebra & not business I'm going to think out of the box. I reckon 3 houses (as words) are more valuable points wise, in scrabble than the word hotel would be. It's a weird one & probably completely wrong or irrelevant but I gave it a shot...

I admit to having a very short fuse. I have a low tolerance for people who are condescending, being awkward or trying to get a rise out of me. To be perfectly honest it's my worst personality trait, I've forever snapping at people (most deserve it, but sometimes even I am in the wrong) and falling out with them. For some reason though, I don't have as short a fuse when I've been drinking which I find strange because you'd expect somebody to have a shorter fuse after a few drinks. I'm a bit of a short-arse so maybe I've got the old Napolean complex.
  12. I'd agree with that. I don't mind sensibly & cleverly debating a point with somebody who disagrees with me but it's annoying when somebody makes sensless, baseless and ridiculous arguments or even worse when they begin to act in a chilish way.
  13. Yeah it's quite bad in some areas. An MSP nearly got attacked by a big group around the corner from my house a few months ago. She was naive enough to investigate the problem that people from the street reported to her, alone on a friday night. They really messed up her car while she was in it, I think she needed a police escort out of there. It's not so bad now though the police here have really went to town on the underagers. They even pay some to try buying booze from stores to catch them selling to underagers. The police also go hunting for groups that are drinking in the street, take their drink from them and sometimes take them home. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/edi ... m?focuswin ------------------ Underage drinking is just like anything else, some people can do it responsibly and others just can't. There are always going to be people who take things too far when they're drinking but it's just the same with legal drinkers as well. Maybe if parents were more relaxed about drinking there wouldn't be so much of a problem - if you've been introduced to alchohol at an early age (ie. a glass of wine with a meal, not enough to be drunk) then it won't be such a novelty when you start drinking socially with friends.
  14. It's true about swans technically belonging to the Queen but I don't know is she can eat them. On that note, I wonder what swans taste like.
  15. Thats the problem though, what place doesn't have children living nearby? Almost every town has a school or one that is close & every town no matter how small has families with children.
  16. I know I vowed to stay out of this debate but could you find me a statistic (from a respectable source) that supports that? Obviously I'd prefer an unbiased & respectable source as 63.7% of statistics are made up nowadays.
  17. I'm not saying that blaming weapon laws is in any way an excuse for a killer. However, they do facilitate murder just by being available thus helping somebody to kill. The whole video games issue is an irrelevant argument in this context as that is a discussion of psychology & media impact. It's not irrelevant. It's comparable. You're saying that guns just being available is enough to blame it on the weapons for deaths. Can you physically kill somebody with a computer game? Not unless it's broken into sharp pieces. I'm talking about weapons that are made to kill. I'm not saying that the availabilty of guns is the sole reason why this officer was killed but it was obviously a vital factor. When anyone is killed by a gun it's just sensible to look at how easily it was for killer to obtain the weapon. Look we seem to have this same argument every time one of these topics come up so I'm going to leave this now. I understand your perspective on the issue (even if I disagree with it) and I realise that neither of us are going to persude the other to agree with them. So I'm going to let this argument go for the sake of not wasting any more of each others time.

  19. You say it as if it's a bad thing that people don't want to see that.. Nobody wants to see these things because they don't want them to happen. However, there is a difference when these things are happening and being ignored. To see a crime being perpetrated and doing nothing about it is a crime in itself - a moral crime.
  20. What? I really cannot make sense of that :-s Well it simple, you're saying that guns dont kill people, people kill people. What I'm saying is that grenades & mortars dont kill people either but they are illegal - therefore why are grenades not legal? It's the fundamental flaw I'm exposing in your "...people kill people argument."
  21. What other use is there other to kill things? And don't say for target practice, that's not a practical use. Im not necessarily anti-gun but that's a bold statement, Why is target practice not practical? It's has no pratical purpose because there is no end result (such as food to eat or safety) it's purely for practice/entertainment. By that rational we should give people grenades & mortars because its people who kill people, right?
  22. Without a doubt, theres been some games where Tevez has almost single-handedly dragged the sidealong with him. In a way I want WHU to go down though, I'd love to see Tevez move to a bigger club & play alongside a quality striker like Berbatov or Martins.
  23. West Ham finally get out of the relegation zone because of Wigans loss to Middlesbrough, it was no surprise to see who scored 2 of West Hams goals though - Tevez. ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã5.5Million extra well spent considering the rewards of staying in the Premiership. Paul Jewel will be spitting if Wigan go down as well, he was furious that West Ham weren't docked points for the Tevez/Mascherano signing fiasco & he'll be even worse if Tevez is instrumental in putting Wigan down.
  24. yes? and what about stupid americans that are just a disgusting bunch of racists that flame mexicans to death and shoot them up in the border? americans who hate that [developmentally delayed] GW Bush, but still voted all for him, knowing that he would only concentrate on "war against terrorism", AKA "conquering all the oil deposits in middle east"? Yes, you hate mexicans, but you still go to mexico on holiday, you hire them in your companies, you buy mexican products and more. SO SHUT UP AMERICANS BECAUSE YOU ARE NO-ONE TO CRRITICISE MEXICANS We shoot them at the border not to kill them, but to slow them down. I would love to see that argument used as a defence in a murder trial. "Honestly officer it was a mistake! I was trying to slow him down, not blast him in the head." Anyway, people who complain about Mexicans who go to America for life should ask the Native Americans what they think about it? A nation of immigrants who whine about immigration, it's ironic. If immigrants were allowed to go to nations (I mean any nation) & work legally then there would be no issue here - by clamping down on the problem you onlymake it worse. It's like leaving out food in order to catch a mouse, all you do is attract more mice (yet another of my terrible analogies). Anyway this topic isn't about Mexican-US immigration, it's about cinco de mayo (aka the day of the De La Hoya vs. Mayweather fight :D )
  25. To fire a warning shot after you've prevented a fight is moronic. The guy was attacked & he sorted it, he should have left it there. The only thing that he did by shooting "warning" shots was to make a bigger issue and somebody could have ended up dead, the 3 men might have over-reacted about the parking thing but he took it to another level by being trigger happy.
