Prince Harry To Go To War.
Troops are being attacked in Iraq because people know that there is a unit nearby, lets face it you can spot a tank or an armoured personnel vehicle from a mile away. However, being able to target a specific unit is a different thing altogether; you would need to know where the unit is(which changes practically every day given the situation in Iraq), what vehicle the target(Harry) is in & then you would need some heavy duty ordinance to get at him. Plus, considering that there has been only 1 reported incident of a soldier being hurt by a roadside bomb while inside a Challenger 2 tank (a freak occurance in my opinion), I reckon he'll be quite safe.

I wish I had put money on my semi-finals picks, I would have made a tidy sum. Liverpool vs.AC Milan round two - I absolutely can't wait.

Tony Blair
I think if thats what the people want then thats what should happen. I believe that people should at least be allowed to choose if they want to remain in Britain or not. As for myself personally, I'm somewhat torn. On one hand I think why not we have before and I think we can be economically stable & it would be beneficial to have full control over our own affairs. On the other hand, I think it poses many social problems & I realise that we'll still probably have the same sort of problems if we are independent. Edit - I think the problem people have with seperatist parties in Britain (Wales, Scotland & Northern Ireland), is that alot of people regard them as anti-English. I dislike these people who blame England for anything & everything, it's quite pathetic. Instead I think that people should be far more interested in advancing the state of their own nations - nationalismto me is about being pro-Scottish not anti-English. This came up today at uni so I thought I'd bring it up just to avoid any misunderstanding. In fact, the current system is unfair towards England in some respects as Scottish/Welsh MP's can vote over English constitutional affairs (education, NHS in England etc) while English MP's can't do the same over Scottish/Welsh affairs as they are devolved powers and go to either the Scottish Parliament or the Welsh Assembly. ----------------------- Sorry I realise I've took this so off-topic (I think its becoming my bad habit on these boards). So let's get back on topic Tony Blair eh?....

Tony Blair
The fact that Tony Blair sort of endorsed Gordon Brown to become Prime Minister just 2 days before the Scottish Parliamentary elections isn't a coincidence. It's a poor attempt to inspire Scottish voters into sticking with Labour, like we'll all think "Oooo a Scottish PM...let's vote Labour." I find it insulting to my intelligence. It proves to me just how scared Labour are of the SNP and how low they'll stoop to keep voters. The usual negative scaremongering hasn't been working so far and now it's Labour who are in panic. As for the Blair era, he will be judged on his choice to go into Iraq, simple as that in my opinion.

I told you, Liverpool would benefit from that little mental advantage because lets face it penalty shootouts are a real test of guts and mental strength. I still say Liverpool to win (as I've said since they put out PSV). I still think Man Utd are vunerable in defence & will go out tomorrow night, leaving the door open for Liverpool vs AC Milan round two.

Prince Harry To Go To War.
I reckon thats just a bit of Mahdi propaganda to be honest. They want to make it look as if Britain is afraid to send its royals because its scared of the militia's. It would make them seem more powerful domestically. I just don't think that any group who had somebody on the inside would advertise it like that.

Prince Harry To Go To War.
Try telling that to the soldiers who are put at unbelievably high risk on patrol with him. Nobody is going to know which unit he is in anyway, that sort of information wont be disclosed. The concept of targetting Harry is ridiculous and unfeasable. Plus that's not the point - if somebody is allowed to join any branch of the military they must assume they will do the same duties everyone else does. If there was no intention of allowing him to fight then he shouldn't be allowed to enlist in the first place. You can't have it both ways, either you join & take the risks like everybody else or you aren't allowed to join. Edit - Merc I think it was Prince Andrew who went to the Falklands.

Prince Harry To Go To War.
If you join the army, no matter who you are, you should expect to do the same duties and be treated in excatcly the same way as any other soldier. Why should somebody like Prince Harry be treated with extra care when regular soldiers have to do the dangerous jobs? If he wasn't sent to the frontline like others, there could have been alot of internal conflict in the army, some soldiers would be asking some serious questions and rightly so. This should never have been an issue in my opinion, after all it's a soldiers job to fight.

Ok, they've taken it tooooo far...
Whats off topic? The debate is interesting and relates to the topic. Quit trying to be a mod. So flaming somebody isn't off topic? Although I disagree with what Highlanders posted about America, I just dont want to read a hundred personal attack in response to it. I find the topic interesting but I don't want to see flaming, and I'm sure others don't either. Also next time don't try to chastise me. I'm not a mod & I don't want to be, I just don't like to see rubbish messing up what could be an interesting discussion. If you want to reply to this PM because now we are going off topic.

It doesn't take Mystic Meg to see that this is going to go way off topic... Please continue your little debate via PM's people.

Busted, your criminal experiences here!!!
Oooh, you're such a dreamy rebel. I know I'm dreamy, but why am I a rebel? They're all minor offenses, nothing big. Its safe to assume that he was being sarcastic..

Not caring?
They are people who like to spread rumors, those are the ones I'm trying to not care what they say or spread. You just need to remember that people who spread rumours also have low self-esteem and try to make up for it by spreading lies. It just makes them seem pathetic.
-
Not caring?
Maybe it comes naturally to me or maybe its due to the brutal sense of humour thatme and myfamily shares, but I've never been too bothered by what people think. Usually if I'm insulted by somebody or if they try to piss meoff, I just laugh it off and make them feel small by winding them up and mocking them. I'm telling you there is nothing worse for most people than when they're being laughed at by a group of people. Not letting people see they're getting to you upsets them just as much as their insults might hurt.

Tournament: Best movie of the 50s. Change of plan, read OP.
As much as I love Stranger on a Train, I'll have to go for Rasḫ̫̉̉mon.

Yeah I enjoyed them too but the problem is that the average user is quite young so it makes these things difficult. Right I'm going back to watch the rest of Dead Man's Shoes, that film is haunting.

Whats wrong with Mexicans? As long as they enter legally, (I know you meant illegals but my point still stands) work pay taxes & contribute to society then they should stay. Anyway whats the difference between Mexican jumping the border & the original white settlers?

We just tried to revive it less than a month ago, I think it only got one or two replies though. Also, this could work, but the categories kind of suck. The movies by decade is still better though. The 80's one went well. I think the problem was that not enough users had seen enough 50's films to form enough of an opinion on the subject. It's a shame I was enjoying that thread.

meh one of the LOTR films will end up winning this  sorry I just despise LOTR. Every time there is a contest like this on the internet every teenager who hasn't seen many 'quality' films votes for LOTR.

Motivation For Revision.
Lmao I'm the worst in the world for putting things off. Right now I've got a 3000 word uni report to finish (1000 words in so for) & a 2500 word essay to start. Both have to be in for Friday morning but yet I put it off by posting this...

History proves that walls are often very successful. There are occassions when walls have worked historically but at what cost? All it serves to do is further segrate people who already share resentment & eventually there tends to be a reaction of some kind (as I'm sure there will be at some time in the West Bank). Yes if you go back hundreds of years, walls were probably the best non-military action to preserve peace but nowadays society we are alot more co-dependant on outsiders. In short I think walling great big areas is a short term fix that more often than not just covers up the long term issues & create more problems than they prevent in the long run. Lets face it, the Roman Empire was scared - bunch of wimps.

UEFA Champions League/Cup - Euro 2008 - Leagues & Cups
It's a decent result for Man Utd but it's not great. Milan only need a 1-0 win at the San Siro to go through so they're by no means out of it yet. losing 2 away goals in Europe is never a good thing & they might come back to haunt them - especially the second (what was Evra thinking?). I still say Liverpool to win though, I hope they don't make a liar out of me tommorow.

Help Me Ask an MP Questions :)
You have to admire the cheek of the Tory party now though. They've tried to present themselves as a green, caring & sharing party of the people under David Cameron instead of the corrupt, elitist scum that every working class child knows and hates.

I blame it on privitisation - just look at the railways (in my area) the price goes up once a year at the same time every year & as if that wasn't enough they go up beyond the rate of inflation & the quality of the service is reduced. The worst thing is that there is little the government can do about it, any saving they give to companies aren't going to be passed on to commuters, it's a completely unjustifiable shambles.
