(~(~(~( 2h You's Quest Cape Blog )~)~)~) Update: 200 QP + Blood Runs Deep COMPLETE!
Good luck with your journal. Alot of pictures, I like. :) Questing really needs a strong motivation, due to some quests seriously being dull (Elemental Workshop III anyone?) and definitely there just to make players angry. Keep going, the cape is cool and the rewards definitely worth it. I have the quest cape as my sidegoal as well at the moment. A bit ahead of you though. Still. :D

[Sydan] 2366 / 2475 - Nexing (solo Nex log) - 2nd Pernix Cowl solo & Torva platelegs duo
Few days since most recent post, so might aswell give a short update about what I've been doing. Well, most of all - I haven't been doing much of anything. I haven't had that much time and interest in the playing, though I "shaped up" a bit again, and went to do some skilling. Pyramid Plunder is quite relaxing way to train Thieving. I actually like it. I've been a bit lost with things to do - what to train, how and where. Usually starting things is the hardest part, especially seen when doing quests. I've been long having this goal of completing all quests and tasks, but it hasn't been progressing very fast. However, now that I've got 80 in all stats except Runecrafting, I don't really have any excuses to stay away from questing. My runecrafting levely will depend solely on my progress with quests and tasks. And I'd prefer getting it to around 80 fast, so I can start getting more points in it from distractions and diversions. That being said, tomorrow is sunday - my D&D day. Penguins, tears and circus awaiting. That free runecrafting experience! I doubt I'll use the points (apart from tears and circus which can't be stored) just yet. If I'll manage to keep going through the last 41 quests I have left - I could get my Runecrafting level somewhere in high seventies. More experience from points. I gotta admit, I really like "free" experience. So today I started by doing some "easy" quests, Elemental Workshop III & IV and Gunnars Ground. Reason why I hadn't ever bothered with the later one, is because I already did the Romeo & Juliet quest ages ago. I couldn't be bothered to do the new makeover version of it. I didn't even get the 5 quest points! There I was, thinking about easy quest points, and yeah right. No luck for me. I have to say that both of those Elemental Workshop quests really require a patience of a saint. Those darn puzzles (even by using help from tip.it quest guide) took me probably like 2 hours in overall. And I thought I was doing them fast. Really frustrating, especially when you realised you had done something wrong and had to start again from beginning. Can't say I'd wait for Elemental Workshop V. Or questing in overall. There are some quests I actually enjoyed doing (like the Cold War saga or Dragon Slayer), but mostly they seem just annoying waste of time. Run here and there, do this and that. Just hand me the rewards already! I guess if one would bother following the storylines more closer, they could make up even a decent enjoinment - but my questing is basically click, click and go. As fast as you can. You know, if I want to enjoy great storylines, the first choice won't most likely be RuneScape quests. I read books. What an xp waste. :---) Oh well, I'm about to call it a day and head off to sleep. Incase someone is actually reading this, I added a new Quest Journal part to the frontpage entry. And updated the level log. Stay tuned, I guess.

Tip.It Times - 25th September 2011
I just didn't really get the point of the first one. Celebrity worship? References to religion. What? I clicked the first link due to interest about RS religions, simply because of the fact I happen to have large (6 hours) religions exam tomorrow, and had been studying the subject for quite alot... Like a few above said the article had too narrow point of view - I have to agree with that. It made it look more like a rant about writer being annoyed why is someone getting recognition for something they do not "deserve." Meaning playing the game more (and certainly not better) than others. Using words like "sickening" and stuff to describe this doesn't really bring in the points from me. Now I'm probably getting thumbs down for reading comprehension fail, but that was just what kind of a taste the article left. Though I have to admit this article had alot more potential and ambition behind it, than most of the articles in Tip.It Times. In overall it could've made an interesting essay, if the writer didn't get too much stuck in his own opinion. I guess this was to provocate people in to thinking, so on that point it did its part. A bit more objective point of view wouldn't really have hurt. Otherwise it was readable (rather long) article. Didn't read the other one - wasn't really interested in the subject. PS. Very nice response on this thread by gompo. =D>

[Sydan] 2366 / 2475 - Nexing (solo Nex log) - 2nd Pernix Cowl solo & Torva platelegs duo
Like I said earlier, I haven't had much time to play recently. I had some exams to study for, and as a matter of fact - I still have. #-o We tried Armadyl, got about 12 kills duoing a trip (not very spectacular), and decided it's not maybe worth the effort. I can solo 9 kills anyways, so duoing there with someone who doesn't have access to things like extreme ranging potions or overloads is a bit of a waste. Zamorak went better. I also tried doing Corporal Beast for the first time after completing Summer's End quest. Duoed with a friend. It's kinda fun, a bit expensive though. Would need higher levels to perform better. And proper gear including spec weapons. My bank account is still quite low due to the Herblore costs, so I can't get the best gears and methods there are. I got 80 agility today, which means all my levels except Runecrafting are now 80+! This is achievement I'm happy about. As soon as I'll get more free time to play again, I'll start questing and doing diaries to hopefully reach 80 Runecrafting aswell soon. Otherwise I'll probably keep doing bosses. More updates to come @ weekend! PS. Also reached 98 Hitpoints Constitution, so that's one level left to the hearty cape. <3:

[Sydan] 2366 / 2475 - Nexing (solo Nex log) - 2nd Pernix Cowl solo & Torva platelegs duo
Decided to give skilling a bit of a rest, and go doing some GWD. Did about 40-50 solo kills (dry) on Armadyl yesterday. Bit dissapointed about the lack of loot, was already about to call it a day. However, a friend of mine who hasn't ever been at GWD before, asked if I'd want to try it with him. Him being rather low level, and due to the time of the day (full servers and alot of people in GWD), we decided to give it a go at Zamorak. He was tanking, so I could focus on killing Kril with rapier, ovl, turmoil combo. First kill, we get Zamorakian spear. I had no idea how much does one cost, but I still got very excited. After all, I had spent about 4 hours soloing Armadyl with no loot whatsoever, so that spear on the ground looked very good. My friend got very excited too. After all, it was his first GWD drop ever. Well, we did few kills, a bit of stumbling here and there (I had to teach strategies and because of that almost died once or twice). It was maybe 6th or 7th kill when I saw there was Zamorak hilt on the ground. Very excited to go and pick it up fast, I didn't get a screenshot out of it. It was my first hilt ever in GWD, even though I've soloed, duoed and teamed hundreds of GWD bosses. I didn't say anything to my friend about it, cause I didn't want to make him lose his focus. Losing focus at Kril can be very deadly due to it hitting few hundreds through prayer - and the minions aren't the easiest ones either. After the trip I told him to meet me at Varrock to show him the loot. I first showed everything else except the hilt and he already was very excited to see his share out of 5m. When I added the hilt and 8m I could imagine his jaw dropping to the floor. I'm certainly bringing that guy with me at God Wars again - he is like a lucky charm. So decent 6m profit for each, for a cost of a bit stumbling and lol's. Not bad, not bad. Today, we're planning to give it a go @Armadyl. Kree'arra, you better watch your back. Or you might be short of a hilt.

"Karil's bombing the Middle East" ~Leik - #1 Bad Maxer - 2595/2595
Nice blog, and nice collection of autographs! They're cool to collect (I don't myself though). Was worth reply due to the fact that our goals and stats at the moment are quite similar. Well 99 smithing (as first 99 level), high herblore, same pray, high herb, quite similar right row and low runecrafting atleast. Best of luck to you on your goals. Impressive account for a person who started only 3 years ago. I guess. :P

The Second Thousand - A Noob's Journey (Less Than 80 Levels Left)
Congrats on all those levels, they keep coming fast! =P~ Maple longbows do sell (especially if put -5% under mid) instantly for as huge bulks as possible (still profiting). Actually it's not because people would actually buy them to use them, but because they are good items to use high alchemy spell on. There are quite a few items, that are being alched, in terms of cheap and quite fast magic experience. Going around the G.E. you've probably noticed quite a few persons alching things. Understanding how many of the lower end items have stable price on G.E. because of their alchemy value, is quite important in terms of understanding the metagame. Many skills like fletching, crafting and smithing are to be trained (costefficiently) doing items that can be sold in bulks due to the alchers. Ever wondered why do people buy things like bracelets, thousands and thousands of dragonhide tops, steel platebodies, battlestaves or longbows for example? Their use in the game itself is quite minimal. Talking about the guy who was complaining about effigies and game becoming easier - he is absolutely right and his frustration is easy to understand. Who doesn't feel down, when you work hard for something, and soon later there are hundreds and hundreds of people with same achievement - only they just did get it many times easier. Back in the days before ZMI altar or even before Abyss and Graahk runecrafting - 15k experience per hour was actually quite close to the maximum experience per hour in Runecrafting. That would explain why it was such a hated skill and there were only the few who bothered to properly train it. It yield nice profits for those with patience though. It would've taken around 850 hours for one to reach 99 Runecrafting with 15k experience with hour. Nowadays one can get like 60k Runecrafting experience per hour using cannon at Cave Crawlers - exactly, it's not even crafting runes in the first place. I would be frustrated too, if my 850 hours of work would've been cutted down to 200 hours. In overall it has been the same in all skills. Back in the days I remember people reaching skills like 99 Firemaking in RuneScape Classic. There were only one type of logs, no things like G.E., no noted items to be traded and when firemaking you first had to drop each log to the ground before you could light a fire. One can only imagine how did one even obtain like two hundred thousand logs it took to level, not even mentioning what kind of a grind it was to reach that 13 million experience. And no, people didn't stop there. One TIFer Matt258 for example (if I remember right) had way over 15 million experience and all the way upto 50 million at the early stages of RuneScape 2. He has 200 million experience now, by the way. I personally remember cooking fishes one at a time at the Varrock oven, and felt relieved when they finally released the "cook all" option. Which happened to multiple other skills aswell. I have to admit, that for me the current ways of how things are suit more than the old - enormous grind it was to reach higher levels. It's understandable, people who reached the higher levels when it was harder are obviously frustrated. #-o PS. Fly-fishing in Shilo Village or Barbarian Village is quite a bit faster and efficient way to fish compared to lobsters.

Armadyl GWD drop rates?
Both sound fairly accurate. 1/200 - 1/250 being from Kree'arra itself, while it's more like 1/100 when counting the factor you have chance to get it from the minions too. I'm fairly positive it's around 1/100 droprate for all GWD drops (except hilts which have fairly higher drop rate). My own monster hunting logs, which aren't long enough yet, do assume quite the similar. I shall do more research on the subject and if I ever collect enough evidence, I'll post results. 1/100 for helm 1/100 for legs 1/100 for chestplate 1/200 - 1/250 for hilt seems like quite accurate. same applies to mine, and assumed data for bandos. Only makes me assume ratios for other GWD follow the same pattern. These ratios including my current gear - risk - cost and speed would assume quite nice gp/hour speeds. Including the fact finding free worlds is extremely easy and you don't get crashed/such problems for trips - like you do in Bandos. Especially on lower levels and cheaper gears. Like I said, I'll do research and post the results.

Armadyl GWD drop rates?
Hey, I've been doing some arma lately, and have been trying to find some figures about real drop rates. Some say 1/100 per items, 1/200 for hilts, while other places say bigger numbers like 1/150 and 1/300.. I'm trying to estimate whether arma would be any costefficient for me and my levels. Any reasonable gp/hour estimates? I can kill 7-8 solo kills per trip, in 50 minutes or less. Lower drop rates would estimate like 1/40 - 1/50 chances for receiving item drop (helm, plate, legs or hilt) Because my calculations, based on these estimates would get quite good gp/hour figures, and I haven't heard many people suggesting armadyl for cash.. Just interested. :)

99 oriented to jujus
You should get plenty of seeds doing dragonic-common method. Atleast when I was doing it I got enough seeds to make plenty of juju farming potions (and I'm only 83). Maybe do some carrion for the secondaries, but other than that dragonic-common is superior XP.

[Sydan] 2366 / 2475 - Nexing (solo Nex log) - 2nd Pernix Cowl solo & Torva platelegs duo
Still running circles - dressed as a monkey - hour after hour. Don't monkeys ever get tired of running? I'm closing in to 79 though at the moment, and then only one level left to magical eight followed by a zero. Real life newsflash is that I finished my last courses and have only 3 exams (2 big, 1 small but all very important) left to graduation. So basically I'm on a holiday till next week, and if all goes well completely out of school in three weeks. And what am I going to do then? Hopefully not running around - dressed as a monkey - day after day. It's first time I'll be considered as "unemployed" so it will be interesting. Maybe I'll find a job with PC around. I'm not THAT geek though. Anything works, me wants monney. Any ideas what to do after 80 agility? I don't have gear or much of anything, due to the fact I sold most of my stuffs before bonus xp's and used them like a winner after casino evening. Vanished to the thin air. I still became a crazy potion master and got a green cloak with golden stripes. Definitely worth 100 million pennies. Fishing? Hunter? Thieving?

The Second Thousand - A Noob's Journey (Less Than 80 Levels Left)
No problem, I enjoy writing especially when one can expect even a rather more intelligent response. With a game like this, where there are people of all ages playing, it's nice to find somewhat like-minded players around. About Travian: I get what you mean by the time-consuming part. Personally been three times server winner, twice building the winning WW. After every server you're exhausted as ever, and don't really want to play anything, especially anything that involves food, starving troops and real time strategy. Still, server after server one keeps going through the same old routines. Fun, boredom, exhaust, win. At worst times you lose and feel like you just wasted a year or more. That's life though. Wasting a year here and there. And back to RuneScape. It's absolutely true, that ones way of writing and keeping updated blog motivates the player itself, but also other players. Positive feedback from other readers feeds the motivation, and the circle goes on. Actually, once I watched over 10 hours of gameplay video on YouTube, about a guy who started a game he had never played before, until he finished it. Even though I had played the game myself, I still could "live through" the feelings of discovering things and finding all sorts of odd and hilarious things. It's often humour that keeps things going. After running about 1000 laps around, dressed as a monkey to gain digital score levels - not even close to the maxium - really requires some humour to realise what you've been doing past few days. So far I've really liked the way you write, no pressure, but keep up the good work. You will find many things that will keep you interested for weeks, months and even years with this game. I've actually played this game half of my life, as odd as it sounds. Sometimes you wonder if those whopping 127 days, or 3048 hours of gaming could've been better spent doing something else. Think if I were using those to learn doing things. I could be a master pianist, speak perfect french, dated dozens of girls or.. Simply play and sing french songs to beautiful girls. But I didn't. I spent time front of computer clicking things up. Don't get depressed about this though, in overall I enjoyed my time and had fun. And well, I still have played guitar for years, speak rather functional English and have better girlfriend I could've hoped for. And, 3000 hours divided for 10 years makes it only 50 minutes a day average. Needless to say, there were days when I spent hours and hours roaming the lands of Gielinor, slaying dragons and simply - being a hero. If you can sound any more geek, feel free to try. But as you said you don't mind taking tips, I could give you a few. First of all, farming is not that bad of a skill. It's actually one of the easiest and most rewarding skills as soon as you'll stumble over the beginning, growing potatoes when basically you gain xp faster just waiting for grass to grow for raking. Not really, but you get the point. Actually, you might want to do a bit of research in terms of farming, and farm trees if possible. Lower level trees (normal and fruit) are usually very cheap to buy, but give rather decent xp. Farming herbs, potatoes and other stuff isn't really worth it before the high level herbs (which, done right, can yield nice profit). One good bet for making money is the good ol' fletching. It seems like you've got already a hand out of it (not literally), so basically just keep doing. Making yew and maple longbows (especially adding strings to unstringed bows) can yield like 200kish profit per hour, and some very decent XP. For a hardcore efficiency-troll, 200k is not much, but as I read your blog - I assume it's quite a decent pile for you. Actually reminds me of a story back in 2003, when I was collecting money for my first Rune 2 Hander (which by the time was the coolest thing there was - which anyone wanted - like a whip or rapier of early days), I fished lobsters for a week at Karamja. It was slow money, but boy was I happy with my Rune 2 hander. I don't think it lasted a week before I lost it in the Wilderness. Back to lobsters it was. Point of the story was non-existant, but it used to be very hard to reach even 200k coins. Now it's like everyday pocket-penny for a midstage RS gamer. Another tip is that there are really no "bad" skills in RuneScape. There are ways to get a "decent" skill out of each and every one of them, though some skills are obviously fair bit more enjoyable than others. Getting quests out of the way early, and unlocking content like Tears of Guthix, Penguins Hide and Seek and Troll Invasion offer easy and fun experience weekly/montly for skills of your choice. If there is a skill you particularly don't like, doing those really saves you some trouble and gray hair (no pun intended). ;)

The Second Thousand - A Noob's Journey (Less Than 80 Levels Left)
First time in a - while - to say the least, I've actually read every post on a blog. And NO, it was NOT only because I was extremely bored running circles - wearing monkey suit (yes I really did that, and sober even) - in an island full of monkeys. You'll get what I mean when you'll get to the point of doing Monkey Madness. By the way, that quest involves running around some caves with nasty stuff falling on your head every once in a while. It's no fun, but heroes have to deal with all this kind of nonsense every once in a while. Before actually getting too much sidetracked with my experiences considering this mystery monkey island, I think I had something else to say here. I have my own blog to write all about monkeys, but I sometimes forget where I am actually posting so bare with me. So my point being, if this post actually has one, was to say that your blog was certainly fresh air to all these efficiency-is-the-way blogs. Trust me, I know. I have one myself too. It's interesting to read about ones adventures (hey, I actually used adventure with this game), with so much to learn and discover from the world, skills, quests and everything that comes with it. It has been 10 years when I last did that. And back in the days the creatures looked like this http://srm62.webs.com/photos/Runescape-classic-photos/RSC%20goblin.bmp and fighting was as epic as this http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20091125002140/runescape/images/archive/c/c8/20100614154930!Goblin_RSC.png (sorry about long and absolutely pointless links considering the topic itself), one really needed to hit his head in the table for calling it an adventure. It was ugly. Hey, it was still fun though. There are so many things I could give tips about, hints, guide you forward and tell you what to do - but I guess that would sort of a ruin the whole point of your blog. I'm not the only one. Usually people are very eager to tell others what to do, yet hardly ever follow their own advice. By the way, you actually sound alot like one friend of mine - who I've gotten to know by playing Travian. He also lives in USA, Florida - and has good sense of humour. Hah, I guess all older (one is as old as one feels!!!!) people living in Florida play games and make jokes about it. That's my theory based on two out of the two persons I know that are from Florida. It must be true. This came quite a long post, but as your posts are not exactly the shortest ones either, I hope you forgive me for this thread hi-jack. I didn't do it (completely) on purpose, and I'm very much looking forward for your progress. Best of luck!

Yeah, it's over a year old blog though. :P And thanks. Nothing special lately. Got 77 agility yesterday, still grinding. A bit boring but what the hell. Just want that 80 fast. :P Then maybe fishing? Or thieving? Not sure yet. Gonna keep skilling though - but no runecrafting!

Thank you for fast replies and feedback. Just few simple words do wonders on ones motivation. Taking a "fresh start" every once in a while with a "new goal" surely helps that too. That's mainly the reason why I am here in the first place. Today I've got couple agility levels, about 150kish agility experience. I had some charges left in my BA horn, and then just ran around Ape Atoll. 74 Agility now, so it's also closing to 80+ soon. :) After agility is done, I think I'll slowly start working towards all 90+. As I still have exams and such left, I don't have time to plan my gaming much - as most of my playing goes into studying. So I'll just train skills that are simple to train and fast to reach. Nothing that demands much of preparation in term of gear and inventory (like hunter for example). Preferably afkable aswell. I guess as soon as I'm done with exams in few weeks, I'll get onto the questing + tasks part, and raise my runecrafting. Tomorrow I have free day though, so might be playing quite a bit. Hopefully get close to 80 agility. :-) I'm saving this one for myself here (Hattrick stuff lol). Agility, penance horn or not?
Reply i posted in a thread a few days ago. Ok, thanks for this. Interesting. Biggest problem is that I'm not planning to play multiple hours straight, so landing a good team to save those hours doesn't sound very reliable. Atleast multiple times. I'll look into it. If I'll get bored to grinding agility, I'll get the horn charged. Thanks. :P
-
Agility, penance horn or not?
This means charging BA horn would actually be faster if you had perfect team?
-
Agility, penance horn or not?
So simply, which one is faster agility xp? Recharging the horn or not recharging it? I have level 5 in all BA, and can do any role and usually land in good (all lvl 5 teams). I don't have any clan or many RS friends to play BA with, nor would I maybe have time to adjust my schedules around it. So charging the horn would involve finding teammates and such. I don't technically like BA "that much", nor do I find grinding agility that much worse. So the "fun" part issue is just a minimal. I'm only interested in the speed. Thanks (I do have master penance horn, obviously)

[Sydan] 2366 / 2475 - Nexing (solo Nex log) - 2nd Pernix Cowl solo & Torva platelegs duo
I posted a new blog, because I want to have "clear start" as a start of new goal - and due to fact my old blog was getting lost somewhere deep in the bitspace of BlogScape. I also reckon a new topic draws more attentiont than a blog that's a year old with not so many posts. :P Introduction: [hide]Hey, My characther name is Sydan, and I'm 19 years old high school student from Finland. Actually, I'm just about to graduate from high school. After that I was planning to find work for about half a year, before I go back to studying - in university. That's atleast how I think about it now. I've been playing RuneScape from late 2001, on and off till now. First time I created blog, that actually lasted, was about month and a year ago - in August 2010. That's when I also started bloggin' in each level I get, and keep some sort of track of my progress. That was also the time one could consider I started playing "seriously." Serious meaning focusing more on the metagaming, efficiency and that kind of things, which seem to be the popular RS culture at the moment. My first 99 level (smithing), I got after almost 2 months of lazyness and slow progressing by smelting gold bars. That wasn't actually very efficient, but it proved me, I am able to level a skill to 99, stick to a plan and proceed through it. There were better days and worse, like there always are in whatever it is you plan to do. Gaming is no different. I've been a gamer as long as I can remember, and I've been playing different games for ages. Before I have not been so called efficient gamer though, and my main focus have been completely in messing around with games, not maybe completing them. It varies between games. I've been playing alot of Warcraft III, Elder Scrolls, Battlefield, Enemy Territory, Heroes and Travian for example. I've always been more of a PC gamer than console one. I don't even own any consoles, even though I've been planning to buy PS3 as soon as I could afford one. RuneScape is in no way anything more than a hobby to me. Hobby that I have to "escape the reality" at times and just chill with doing things. I like to do things rather efficient, simply because that means I progress faster - and can play less. I have alot of friends, other activities and hobbies aswell, which take my time. I decided to renew my blog and go for the goal that has always been there - max cape. Now I'm only just alot closer, and due to the fact game has became quite a bit easier than it once was, I might be even able to reach it one day. Q
then we can be WoT buddies@@@@ Can I be your WoT buddy too? :P It's awesome. By the way, you've really really racked those levels like no tomorrow (compared to your January picture), so you should be doing fine. I myself have sort of a goal to max cape, but I'm not in a much of hurry. Best of luck Enaid. :-) PS. I'm so jealous to the one who managed to get name Lan, it's so epic. PS2. Congrats for being Aes Sedai. :D Now bind me as your Warden to share your awesomeness!!! :D

Most influential/iconic players of RS2?
Most iconic players of all time in RuneScape are no doubt (hard to limit to just RS2 really): Zezima Bluerose13x Duke Freedom Chessy018 Zarfot Of course there are many who have influenced the game alot, or even more, but these people were just so incredibly famous almost everyone, no matter did you play during their era or not, has heard about them. I have to say Zezima being the #1 simply due to fact that people who haven't ever even played RuneScape have heard of him. From friends playing RS and so on. Few times that I've seen him on game, he has always been surrounded by dozens and dozens of players just wanting to see a glimpse of his name. Bluerose simply for being the only one with 99 smithing back in the days, and able to make R2Hs, which for long was the best weapon in the game and even longer in f2p. Duke Freedom and Chessy simply for being so loaded it's hard to imagine. And last but not least, Zarfot. For reasons posted multiple times above. People who deserve a special mention: Renez (my personal favourite), Pure Kq Pax, Larryr, Jebrim, S U O M I, The Old Nite, N0valyfe..
