  1. His evidence for a personal opinion about Netanyahu is self-evident. Try proving he's wrong. He's guilty of generalising based on anecdotal evidence? How many times have you done that exact same thing for Hamas and the rest of Palestine? Or does that only work when it's Israel being criticised for illegalities of war?
  2. Define 'engage', and stop hiding behind weasel words. EDIT: Directed at Gabe, not you Siobhana
  3. Was the IRA morally justified to attack British infrastructure in the disputed counties of Northern Ireland? I'm not prepared to say either way, but what I am prepared to say is that it could be easily justified by some. Terrorism can be morally justified, even if the killing of innocent people cannot. Then again, terrorism doesn't necessitate killing people.
  4. Mother of God, it's the biggest can of worms I've ever seen.
  5. F2Pers can work on the crew. Only some of the work revolves around in-game research, so P2P isn't needed in most cases. I carried on working for the Crew for two months after I quit members and throughout those two months I worked just as efficiently.

Nicely played. On a related note, I attend my first football match as a first aider today. It's a pre-season friendly and PNE just got relegated to England's third-tier league last season so I'm not expecting anything big. Good experience though.

You just gained 100 points in my estimations. Good man. Take a shower though. And paracetamol for the inevitable headache.
  8. Agreed, as someone who grew their hair long. Short is much better, it's easier to look after and boy does it show.

I once threw up at some stranger's place during a house party once. Friend had invited me, I'd never met their parents before that night. Then I was diluted vodka, which was actually 45% concentrated, but of course I drank it as if it were dilute. The consequence was... Not fun. Or very dignified.
  10. You're not the only one, don't worry... EDIT: Thank god for clearing that up... though it does make you wonder why you'd place that on a desktop.

Whoa, 314 posts in three weeks? You little Tifoholic... they should give you an award for that dedication.

Is it bad that I was missing TIF so much that as soon as work ended, I browsed Twitter for the RuneTips official account... and subcribed to it?
  13. You can have fun in a relationship without sex. You know that as well as anyone else.
  14. Yep. Got no time for them. I'm not even being sarcastic here. What annoys me most is they use them heavily on children's channels, so they'll either nag their parents with emotional blackmail or, even worse, give their own pocket money (allowance). It's completely immoral for any charity to take money from people who can't make an informed decision, let alone one that supposedly is there to prevent abuse, and I don't think anyone in their right mind would say a nine year old girl watching Hannah Montana is capable of an 'informed decision', or even capable of understanding what animal abuse really means. But for some reason, people don't mind because giving to charity is a 'nice thing to do'.
  15. It's not really rocket science to understand why people experiencing low quality of life consume more hallucinogenics. It's not right, but I don't think this was ever really up for debate. However, I'm convinced that most people do not spend their welfare money on such things. What makes me so sure are cases in the UK where the Winter Fuel Allowance awarded to the elderly to help with heating costs over the cold winter are sometimes insufficient to cover the bills, meaning that too often, they have to cut back on food in order to subsidise the expense. The result of course, is that they're not eating well and end up becoming ill anyway. There are examples like this all over the welfare system, however, it doesn't remove the fundamental point: they don't have enough money to sustain themselves--they either freeze or starve to death--and it's not always the case that they fit into the convenient category of 'Can't be arsed working' that certain right-wing groups would have us all believe. For every welfare payment, there is a good reason for it being awarded, and even if some unfortunately abuse it, others undoubtedly still need it. Punish the cheating of the welfare system, not the claiming of welfare in itself.
  16. I'm saying that in any relationship the only rule that should ever apply to sex is 'Are both of you ready?' and that if he wants to wait until he's married before having sex then it shouldn't be countered with 'It's perfectly natural'. It's his choice, and there's nothing natural at all about having sex when you're not comfortable with the idea.
  17. It's also perfectly natural for people who aren't ready to have sex to struggle when trying to cope with what sex actually means with all its various complications. But it's perfectly natural to have sex and as such, they should be encouraged even though they're not comfortable with it. WAT
  18. It's also the one where captain John Terry handed a trophy over to United in 2008. Yep, sweet memories... :D
  19. Twitter? I'm intrigued... there's stuff I hate about Twitter but what gets your goat?
  20. Some people like who? Who specifically are you talking about there? Because if it's a family in sub-Saharan Africa, I don't see how a foreign invasion of Iraq has solved that problem at all. If it's a family in America, then the system itself is failing--not the principle of welfare--and needs reforming, and in such a case more funding is needed, not less.
  21. The Smash Bros one did make me laugh, actually. Wouldn't recommend posting it on Smash World unless you're wanting a "Halo vs CoD"-esque row though. Honestly, I have a problem with JRPGs in general. You know the saying about how monkeys in a room with typewriters will eventually write Shakespeare? Take out "eventually" and you have my opinion on JRPGs. Vacuous, meaningless, failing in any prerequisite for skill, and above all else for the majority of them, filled with utterly pointless and needlessly complicated variations on a simple combat system. On the other hand, we almost always 'save the world' in them. Yay... I'll sleep well tonight.
  22. As an outside observer with no particular knowledge of the US budget, I've never understood why the US spends so much of its GDP on defence. All of the great empires of the past have been able to do far more with far less, and when you see how the American foreign policy of interventionism has produced numerous controversies which have only alienated it further from international opinion, it only throws the budget's aims and priorities even more into the spotlight. People should always be encouraged to work, provided they have the capacity and means to do so. There's a difference between that and starving them from any kind of bearable existence because it suits your ideological views. Your insistence to not discuss other areas of US domestic spending adds doubt as to whether you oppose the proportion of GDP that is spent on welfare, or simply oppose welfare full stop. If it's more to with the latter than the former, then you're being ridiculous; the first goal of any government is to protect its people--from starvation and poverty as well as opposing armies and terrorist threats. What is so wrong about the poor being 'less poor' in allegedly one of the richest countries of the world? Why is there this comparison to poverty in the US and poverty in Sudan, as though the two are actually comparable?
  23. Did that marker stay? I put it down and then thought better and deleted it but... apparently not. I moved it to Paris anyway. You have to feel sorry for any sportsman that finishes second three years in a row, especially in the manner he lost yesterday and after the controversy of last year.
  24. Countries have declared wars over whether the Chaotic Rapier is better than the Chaotic Longsword, Pix, and you know it.
  25. One comment about Amy Winehouse's death: "Phone hacking seems like ages ago" Yes, it is sad that somebody has (by their own, albeit impaired choice) drugged themselves to death. However, let's not lose sight of the fact that 92 people have just been murdered in Norway and the former Chancellor of the Exchequer's phone was hacked by a foreign-owned newspaper. Any needless loss of life is unfortunate, but I hate the way that 24 hour rolling news can lose perspective at times.
