Recall that F = ma. Force = mass times acceleration Weight is a force, our gravity is the acceleration (equal to about 9.8 m/s^2).
-
Hmm, before the manual update today, it showed "Members only". It seems that Jagex made a mistake on the manual.
-
Jagex says that this new random is for members only. But recently, a f2o friend reported getting one. His description is amazingly accurate! Has anyone else reported seeing this random on f2p?

TET Presents:PI(E) FEST!!! - NOW!! Woot woot!

To celebrate, I will post some interesting links. PiFast - fastest pi calculation program for home PCs Wikipedia article on pi Pi Day songs Oh, and here is pi to 45,000 decimal digits. -
Yeah, I posted this just for fun. Of course, RS isn't meant to be realistic.
-
RuneScape isn't realistic, but hey, it's just a game. The most important thing is to have fun, as long as everything is balanced. However, it's fun to spot scientific errors! Feel free to post interesting violations of scientific laws. Here are the ones I found: - Jagex uses kg as a measure of weight. However, kg is a measure of mass, not weight! - During the Between a Rock... quest, the player must make a helmet out of gold bars. After doing that, the inventory becomes heavier! This violates the conservation of mass/matter! - According to the newsletter, each cannonball can only be used once because they "vaporize" on impact. Think about it - if cannonballs really vaporized, the kinetic energy released would be probably sufficient enough to level an entire building! Also, you can see that cannonballs travel at only a few meters per second, not exactly fast enough to cause vaporization on impact. But then again, real cannonballs would be pretty unbalanced. - Gold and silver ore are refined in furnaces, not exactly what we do in real-life. - Obsidian is one of the strongest materials in the game. However, in real-life, it's rather weak. It is only ranked 5 on the Mohs mineral hardness scale. Any sharp blow will shatter obsidian.

Recently, people have been complaining about the sudden drop of price of whips. So, here is an idea that should keep them valuable. I stole the idea from the SNES game Indiana Jones' Greatest Adventures. Anyways, here are some possible uses: Piranha river crossing (level 70 agility required) - some jungle island The player can try to use their whip to swing on a tree branch across a river filled with piranhas. If they fail (fail rate at level 70: 17%, they will get hit 5 times with random damage ranging from 1-5. exp gained: 89 Icicle swing (level 75) - somewhere far north The player can try swining their whip across a large horizontal piece of ice. If they fail (rate at level 75: 20%), they fall into a pit of sharp icicles and get hit for 20 damage. (possible failure messages: "Your whip slips off the ice!", "The icy protrusion breaks!" exp: 127 Deep ravine - some very deep cave (level 80 required) The player tries to swing their whip on a rocky protrusion. If they fail (rate at level 80: 30%), they lose half their HP. exp: 257 other possible places: treetops at gnome village (shortcuts), swinging onto gargoyle heads as shortcuts between castle floors, etc

Well, I must have been pretty lucky. I got a yew seed from a nest from the first mole I killed.

http://newgr ounds.com/portal/view/296606 This is a pretty fun game if you're bored. For those stuck, someone has posted a guide here, althought it might still contain mistakes: http://lazylaces.com/article.asp?p=1722 Warning: Spoilers

A long time ago, back in 2001 and 2002, if you had a skill above level 80, literally everyone knew you. If you had a level 99 skill, your name would be mentioned on forums all over. However, it seems that with the so many thousands of level 99 skills, getting a level 99 skill isn't that noteworthy. :( In these days, if you told someone you had a level 99 skill, chances are that they would say, "Hold on, lemme check highscores." And even players with 100M+ exp in one skill don't get noticed that often. So what are the standards for being "legendary"? So far, only one or two people seem to meet this standard.

I used wordsmith.org and I found some pretty interesting results. NPCs greater demon <-> remote danger (dangerous yet found in remote places) Nekizchened <-> heck denizen (indeed from "heck") Items Silverlight <-> gives thrill (when you hit a demon with it) Quests Underground Pass <-> rounds up dangers Other ranged war <-> raw danger Miscellania <-> misalliance (it had one with Et Ceteria) Here's an interesting one: (Lady Emerson) the (demon slayer) I'm kinda bored, though. If anyone else finds other interesting anagrams, please let us know!

I think the exact GP limit is 2,147,483,647 (2^31-1).

Its a sad day indeed...Tks's stats wiped clean
ixfd64 replied to Runed1's topic in General Discussion
I thought Jagex only wiped RSC stats? -
Another strange thing. Sbot3.com redirects to RuneScape via HTTP 302. Doesn't "sbot3" sound like the name of some autoing program?
-
Nah, that's not dumb. They might be expecting a few others there to be a member. For example: (player 1 and player 2 are both members, but are on f2p servers) player 1: Selling d-scim! player 2: I buy! But this is a f2p server. player 1: Go to server 2? player 2: Ok! But true, trying to sell on members servers is probably more effective, though.

I was recently reading this site and it mentioned many interesting numbers in the real world. I thought I'd make a similar article on RuneScape. Anyways, here is a list of interesting numbers in the world of RuneScape. Have fun! 1 This is the lowest level monsters can have. 3 This is the combat level that players start at. This number is also the smallest Mersenne prime. 5 Players need level 5 attack or defense to use steel weapons and armor, respectively. This number is also the second Fermat prime. 18 The number of free-version quests on RuneScape 2 as of February 2006. 32 The number of quest points required to enter the Champions' Guild. Players who want to enter the Cooks' Guild need level 32 cooking. 60 Players need level 60 attack or defense to use dragon weapons or armor, respectively. 85 Being level 85 in certain skills has different meanings. Level 85 miners can mine rune, which can be smithed by level 85 smithers. Players with level 85 slayer can kill abyssal demons. These demons drop abyssal whips, which are prized weapons. At level 85, players are one-fourth of the way to level 99. 92 Greater demons, the strongest monsters on the free version of RuneScape 2, are level 92. 99 This is the highest level an individual skill can reach. Players often consider getting a level 99 skill an honorable achievement. 100 Many players consider reaching level 100 combat a major milestone. Free-version players can have up to 100 names on their friend lists. 123 This is the highest combat level RuneScape Classic players can reach. 126 This is the highest combat level RuneScape 2 players can reach. 200 Paying members can have up to 200 names on their friend lists. 245 The level of the RuneScape Classic version of the King Black Dragon. This monster is the strongest NPC on RuneScape Classic. 702 TzTok-Jad, the strongest monster on RuneScape 2, is level 702. It can kill most players in one hit. 1000 For newer players, reaching 1000 skill total is considered a good achievement. 1782 The highest possible skill total on RuneScape Classic. 2000 This is the maximum number of players that can be on a RuneScape 2 server at once. 2079 The highest possible skill total on RuneScape 2. 5000 The approximate number of players caught in RuneScape Classic's largest mass ban as of February 2006. 15000 The approximate number of players caught in RuneScape 2's largest mass ban as of February 2006. 65535 A very long time ago, due to programming limits, players could only hold up to 65535 of one item in one stack. If they had more, a second stack of items would be created in the inventory. 185000 The approximate record number of players online, as of February 2006. 500000 The approximate number of playing members, as of November 2005. 2000000 The approximate number of accounts as of early 2002. 5000000 This is my very rough estimate of the number of tiles in RuneScape 2. 13034431 The experience required to reach level 99 in a skill. 13034431 is also prime. 100000000 The odds of getting two dragon chain mails in a row, assuming that dust devils drop then at 1/10000 rate. 445000000000 The estimated amount of gold pieces in RuneScape as of September 2005. 515000000000 A rough approximation of the number of possible treasure trail paths. This is based on the assumption that there are around 220 clues, and that each trail is five clues long on the average. 10^12 My low estimate of the total experience in RuneScape. 10^13 My high estimate of the total experience in RuneScape. 10^40 The approximate odds against a player getting 10 dragon chains in a row from dust devils. This is based on the assumption that dust devils drop dragon chains at 1/10000 rate. 2.39 x 10^400 A very rough approximation of the odds against a level 4 killing a greater demon without taking a hit. This is assuming that the newbie hits at a 1/200 chance, and the demon misses at a 1/200 chance. 4.48 x 10^1927 The odds against a level defeating Dagannoth Rex without getting hit, assuming no interference. This is assuming that the newbie has a 1/800 chance of hitting, and Dagannoth Rex having a 1/800 chance of missing. 3.53 x 10^795690 A rough approximation of the odds that 185000 online players will get a strange box in the same second. I'm estimating that in any one second, a player has a 1/20000 chance of getting a strange box. 2.82 x 10^1239309 The approximate odds that 185000 online players will get a mime at the same second, assuming that the odds of getting a mime in one second is 1/500000. 10^10^10^10^10 The odds against RuneScape Classic being updated.

This is for those of you who play other RPGs as well. If you could summon one of your characters from another game into the realm of RuneScape to fight for you, which character from what game would you summon? For me, I'd summon my character "ixfd64" from the game Exile III. The characters are capped at level 50, but they can have up to 250 HP, can cast spells that do over 170 damage (on characters with low magical resistance), can cast invincibility spells, and have a large chance of surviving even at 0 HP (provided that their Luck skill is adequate). My second choice would probably be one of my ARENAscape characters. If you coould, what character would you summon, and from where?

A bit off-topic, but some estimate that the universe is 78 billion light-years across. Oh, and this site is pretty interesting:
-
WHat do you think it is? I have no idea, but I'd say that it's in the trillions.

Two nearby users getting a Sandwich Lady at almost the same time!

Has anyone ever played this Flash RPG before? It's pretty fun! (You can beat all the monsters at below level 30, but I trained my character to level 40+ anyways.) Here it is. Have fun! http://www.mofunzone.com/online_games/s ... rior.shtml (There is also an older versionb ut it's not that good IMO.)

I bet he's probably going to think that you're an autoer with advanced capabilities that can detect valuable items. :P
