  1. Runescape seems to have a few fads. What are the ones you know about? I know a few: 1. "pl0z", etc - a variation of the newbie "plz". It seems to have started from autoer commuinities, but has spread to legit people. 2. "dancing" - people "dance" in Runescape by following each other in circles. It seems to be very evident on server 3. 3. Also, I don't know if this is a fad or not, but many female charatcers seem to like dressing in a white top in a rune skirt.
  2. The criteria for being an administrator is that you need to have about 1,000 edits, as well as at least three months of activity. If you are nominated, people will have one week to vote whether you should be promoted.
  3. Yep, that's right! Earlier this morning, I was promoted to administrator on the English Wikipedia! For those who don't know, Wikipedia is a large open-content encyclopedia that anyone can edit. As administrator, I can block users from editing, protect/unprotect pages, delete/restore pages, edit the main page and other protected pages, and modify the user interface messages. If anyone's wondering, my Wikipedia username is "ixfd64".

  5. You play RuneScape (RS2) too much when... You refer to jury duty as a "random event".
  6. All the autoed level 3's on RSC that have not been banned yet.
  7. Well, for me? I tend to go to worlds on the left side of the world selection screen. Other than that, I'm a nomad.
  8. I normally don't write much fan fiction, but I thought that this would make a good story. This is based on a fable by Aesop. ---- Many ages ago, a young woodcutter journeyed into the kingdom of Misthalin. He was determined to be a woodcutter. After working for a while for Farmer Fred, he earned enough gold to buy a steel hatchet, but nothing more. But he worked hard. After cutting some logs, he became more skilled. But one day, he swung too wildly, and his hatchet fell into the mighty River Lum. He thought about trying to take it back, but the current looked much too dangerous. And so the young woodsman wept, for his career was at an end. Shortly thereafter, Saradomin, a god of all-knowing, appeared in the river in the form of a water sprite, next to the woodcutter. "Why are you crying, young one?" "I lost my steel axe. My career is gone forever." "Don't be pessimistic. I'll be right back," replied Saradomin. Moments later, Saradomin produced a rune hatchet. "Is this yours?" "No, it's not mine." Saradomin disappeared into the river again, and popped up again, with an adamantite hatchet. "Is this yours, then?" "No, it's not mine either," replied the woodcutter, after taking a look. Saradomin disappeared again, and came up with a steel hatchet. "Surely this must be yours?" "Yep, this is mine." Saradomin gave the woodcutter his axe. "Since you were not corrupted by greed, I shall give you the rune and the adamantite axe." The word had spread around Misthalin, and soon, all of RuneScape. Another woodcutter, with a mithril axe, decided to test his luck. He went to the river's edge and "accidentally" lost his axe. Again, Saradomin appeared, with a rune axe. "Is this yours?" "Yes, it is! Yes it is!" said the other woodcutter eagerly. "Are you sure?" "Yes, of course!" Saradomin scratched his head. "Hmmm.... I believe you have a mithril axe." Saradomin disappeared, not to be seen again. ---- Moral of the story: Sometimes, it's honesty that results in gains, and greed that results in loss.
  9. Here's one I'd like to see: 18 July, 2005 - RuneScape Classic source code released! Because we are heavily biased towards RS2, we might as well release the RS-Classic source code. Do whatever you want with the source code, and we hope that you can make a better game than we do! The Jagex Team
  10. We used to have an old school player named "Death Timing".
  11. Well, it would be realistic if certain skills gave exp towards strength. But then again, balance is more important than realism.
  12. Globalfun allows, or at least used to allow a free trail of their p2p.
  13. A lot of guys wear pink skirts in RS.
  14. Some autoers now have anti-randoms.
  15. Although I mostly play RS-Classic, today I went to RS2 to work on my woodcutting and firemaking. I was always hoping to meet a genie. Guess what, I met three today! :P
  16. You try to telegrab at a real Easter egg hunt. You don't know why people wait in lines in real-life. You really enjoy the 'RuneScape lovers in real life' thread. -- guilty -- You ask your mother what her farming level is (when the skill comes out). (RS2) You're a cheater in RS and you try to find a bot for doing your homework/chores.
  17. I use Proboards too. Hopefully V4 will be much better. :P
  18. Because each file has to be checked, enforcing the no-BMPs rule can be tough. I know that the older forums used to censor .bmp image files, but users might not know that their URL was censored. So here's an idea. An admin could simply put this code somewhere on the forum: I'm not sure this code is free of bugs or compatible with all browsers, though. It should work as long as there is a replacement image located at 'http://forum.tip.it/nobmps.gif'.
  19. Maybe a tip.it owner could share the secret of how tip.it became so popular. :)
  20. I think that the exp tables are mostly accurate, but may need a bit more refining. For example, according to the chart, 2/2/3 and 3/4 are not possible since they add up to over 100%, but they are possible, although there is extremely little room for supports.
  21. I've noticed a lot of pixel-art sigs nowadays. A while ago, they were very rare. Is this some type of new trend going on?
