  1. Just because most people prefer torso to torag's plate doesn't mean its right : PC is bad for XP, most high levels are smart enough not to go there. Not many players rich enough for bandos train on monsters so low that they never hit. If your praying, initiate is far, far better period. And the +6 strength is far, far overestimated, as I've pointed out several times already.
  2. 100 per 4 hours, non raw material (I guess?) Either way, I'd like to see you use more then 100 avantoe every 4 hours...
  3. I find a hard time believing that. I've personally experienced the limit on waters, chaos, death, dust, fire and a few other runes I've forgotten. Why would they omit just air? Possibly because air is necessary for so many more spells as compared to the other elemental runes. Air is needed in pretty much all of the basic offensive spells. I doubt it. Look at the trading items on the front on the Grand Exchange database page.
  4. No, Jagex seems afraid to release anything more powerful, probably to combat power creep. Even now, PVP has turned into 0-0-0-0-0-0-38-0-0-0. Just try whipping another high level with torags and DFS. Their response has been to make monsters that hit virtually every time regardless of your defence bonus. A notable exception was DKS, but in most other places (I.E GWD), the bosses MUST be prayed against, or they will own you in mere seconds. Which reminds me of another pet peve, prayer should reduce damage taken from monsters, not eliminate it. Currently Jagex is forced to create monsters that would kill you in seconds without prayer, and have a strong 2ndary attack so you still get hit (Graador anyone?)
  5. Here we go again, you may or may not be able to run it. Wait until Jagex releases some more details, or a few weeks until the update itself comes out... Well thanks anyways, I think I should get a new laptop. I just dont think this laptop is up to par and if it cant run runescape then that is just horrible. Yup. Now we've got to break the if-your-computer-cant-run-runescape-its-will-serve-you-better-as-a-doorstop sterotype.
  6. No problems there, but the DX version doesn't matter. Jagex is using JOGL instead of DirectX. \

  8. No, they can't. How could that thing still run? :ohnoes: Off Topic (Well, in a way on topic): Help, I'm being spammed by "mr. noreply"! 50something posts by me in this thread in a few hours, people sure are desperate to see if they can run it. Ah well, I like giving computer advice (Hence my job).
  9. What kind of 512mb gefore? Like 8800GT, 8600, etc, and exactly what kind of processor? I just built a computer (not a laptop, so kinda different I guess) that saved me a ton vs buying retail my graphic card: NVidia GeForce9500M-GS 512MB and my processer: Intel® Core2 Duo mobile processor 1,83 GHz T5550 thats why i wont to opgrade my processer just to about 2.5 just so i can run portal/hl2 without lag Ouch, was a little off with my guesstimates. That 1.93 instead of 1.83 threw me, there's no model like that at 1.93 so I rounded up #-o Anyway, I'd just forget about upgrading the CPU and enjoy your computer. Its more hassle and cost then its worth, and the difference between processors in the same series is smaller then you might think.
  10. Yes, but I'm assuming that that's for the 800X600 one. At, say, 1920X1200, your needing over 6 times the graphics horsepower. Throw in anti-aliasing, and you might need to upgrade your graphics to play runescape (Sounds like an oxymoron to me...)
  11. 2.4 Ghz then were far, far away from now... My 5 year old desktop had a 2.4, and even then you could get over 3.0. Raidon 9200 is OK, should have no problems with this. :)
  12. I know, I was referring to others saying they were purchasing new hardware. No good chances on speculating what the high detail mode will really require, I'm just trying to give advice based on the example they gave and other games with similar requirements.
  13. rofl the same as mine :D then again i'm getting new labtop: 4gigabyte ram 1,93 duo-core 512mb geforce.(up to 1264mb split ram) What kind of 512mb gefore? Like 8800GT, 8600, etc, and exactly what kind of processor? I just built a computer (not a laptop, so kinda different I guess) that saved me a ton vs buying retail Don't try to build a laptop unless you want a very frustrating experience. Laptops use more specialized parts which computer manufactures can get in bulk much more cheaply then you. Desktops, I agree, are good to build, but leave the laptops to the big name brands unless you really want a learning "experience". As for his, I would assume the usual Intel Duo core (Probably T72500, just a guess though) and probably a 8600 GT with DDR2 memory. Could be a couple of different ones in the 8X00 line though.
  14. Exactly. You are already using system ram. Your graphics card is smarter then you when it comes to deciding how much to use, and generally picks the best balance for optimum performance. If your graphics card is using too much memory, the game will not be running as fast due to the lack of memory space available to the operating system. Newer graphics cards can do this on the fly. So, would you recommend that I change it back to 32 mb and see if it works (once it is released, of course) or is it fine to just leave it at a higher setting (I still have plenty of RAM available for everything else I'll be using the computer for)? As for newer ones automatically adjusting, all I can say is that I know this is as new as at least late 2004 (I got it for free from my grandparents' business and the only date I can find is November 2004, but that's just from the revision history section of the User's Guide). Leave it for now, wait until its out to start tweaking things.
  15. If you don't know much about computers, leave it alone. Its rare you can get a significant speed boost nowdays by tinkering with it anyway; most of the components are smart enough to figure it out themselves. Anyway, you can wreak havoc accidentally if you do not know what you are doing. Well I meet all of the requirements except for the VRAM... only 32MB rather than 64... So when it comes time, my computer will figure it out to borrow some of my 512MB main RAM, and use it for the VRAM? Unless you have texture problems, I would leave it as it is. If you are not satisfied once you've tried it, THEN adjust the settings. Jagex hasn't give us enough details to warrant purchasing new hardware or trying to overclock or tune up current stuff.
  16. My laptop beats most of the machines here, and the desktop I'm currently building trumps everything else by far. The downside is my empty bank account. Guess I'll just write it off as "business expenses" :
  17. Glad I could help. As for downloading the ram, just buy some online; 4 GB is around 150 USD for notebooks.

  19. From the looks of those, yes. But you need to tell me graphics card also ;) (32 bit is given, that's all that processor runs at) I think this is it, it's under display adapters: Mobile Intel® 965 Express Family Chipset If thats not good, cant i just download NVidia? You just made my day \ Someday when we all own circuit printers this will be possible. Integrated graphics may or may not run the new Runescape; hopefully you'll be able to tone down some settings to keep the FPS high. No word on the details from Jagex.
  20. Good for the cost :D Expensive to upgrade CPU, as you cannot sell the old one very easily. Much easier to get when you first buy it. Anti-aliasing is the smoothing of lines by using pixels with transition colors; basically it makes things look more realistic by smoothing and blending the lines, especially at lower resolutions. thank you : can you tell me how much lets say a typical opgrade to 2.3-2.5 cost? (just got paycheck and birthday is next month ) so i got some beans to spit out :D btw: my computer is a "acer aspire 5920 gemstone" I really wouldn't recommend a CPU upgrade, its not that mismatched and an upgrade likely would not provide a large performance boost. Just something to watch out for next time you buy one. If you insist, a T7800 3.6 Ghz mobile processor compatible with your chipset would run around 400-600 dollars, would require professional installation unless you were a highly technical user comfortable with working inside your computer, and would probably not provide a noticeable performance boost unless you used benchmarking software. Be happy with your computer; its quite nice and should last a long time.
  21. That's really not going to help much, the main problem is that system memory is far, far (as in several orders of magnitude) slower then onboard memory. Still, it could improve performance a bit... Jagex said they would allow you to adjust the detail and visible features on the new detail mode, so it may help those with weaker graphics cards tune down some of the settings while retaining the updated look. As far as I can tell, it was already using system memory. On the first page of the dxdiag, it had already stated that it only had 992 mb of RAM when I know for a fact that I have 1024 mb installed (2 sticks of 512 mb that I installed myself) and this decreased ajust as much as the graphics RAM increased. However, I do not know much about how all this works and I wouldn't be very surprised if I was wrong. Exactly. You are already using system ram. 23. As I just said I got 30k airs all at once just earlier this week. I find a hard time believing that. I've personally experienced the limit on waters, chaos, death, dust, fire and a few other runes I've forgotten. Why would they omit just air?
