Bandos team tank
Guthans tank is by far the best. Bring wind strike to get Graador on you when he spawns, then attack the mage minion while Graador is being killed. After he dies, if you still need health, have your team keep off the range minion until you've healed sufficiently on him. With a good tank and 5 man team, this method can last for well over 100 kills. With a titan (before 88 summoning), I managed 28 kills with a 5 man team on 3 brew doses. Obviously we got far more food drops then that! With a stallion, one could easily get several hundred kills.

How smart are you?
0/10, obvious and common (sorry). Resistentialism (Any sentence I use will give it away...)

How smart are you?
Pretty good.. 6/10. Had to think about it : Criticaster. "My friend's cousin tends to be a criticaster"

How smart are you?
*sigh* Had to look it up. 0/10, you can't use places or names (What I got when I looked on google\wikipedia). That's why you need to use it in a sentence \ My word: Savills. Yes, its a real English word, but good luck finding the definition online. I won't even give you a sentence :

My New Computer
While access times would be a bit faster - making application load times a little shorter, Toms Hardware shows that the overall transfer rates are not much faster then hard drives. Should you decide to RAID a pair of HDD', for the same price you could get 20 times more space then on that tiny little SSD. While SSD's are not bad, their main advantage is reliability, and I honestly hope you do not plan on throwing your desktop off a cliff. Erm... What? That article did not show anything besides the rated speeds, which I already know and are faster then most hard drives. And sequential read speed is rarely utilized in typical desktop computer scenarios - look at hothardware.com's benchmarks vs. the VelociRaptor. In real world application tests, the SSD was an average of 400-500% faster. Only one test was it slower on, by a margin of 30%. Storage size is not an issue. As for the whole ATI argument, I did a little research. Look at this graph, please... http://www.guru3d.com/flash/2008/4870/flash-wic-med.swf. Suffice to say it is a typical graph of those graphics cards (The game here is World in Conflict; I am merely linking to one of the graphs in the guru3d article. Nevertheless, they are all like that - the GTX 260 is virtually tied with the 4870 at lower resolutions, and pulls ahead in the higher resolutions (This is more pronounced in more complex games). The 4850 lags quite a ways behind both of them. Now consider that the 4870 is 80$ more expensive then the GTX - Why buy? Here's a graph of the 3dMark Vantage scores: http://www.guru3d.com/flash/2008/4870/flash-vantage.swf. Again, the GTX 260 outperforms the 30% more expensive 4870 (And this is the one with the fast memory!). The final nail in the coffin is the Crysis-on-high-with-anisotropi -filtering graph: http://www.guru3d.com/flash/2008/4870/flash-crysis-2.swf. Also consider that ATI cards are generally even weaker at anti-aliasing. So stop with the GTX bashing, please. I like opinions, but not false ones : EDIT: Oh, and the 4870 runs louder and MUCH hotter then a 260. Idles at 60, pushing 90 when under load. = Short lifespan, loud computer, hot computer...

Play to win already, scrubs.
If you were acting like a reasonable, mature adult\teen then my apologies. I didn't exclude or include on a post-by-post basis; I was referring to the majority of the thread, which consisted of arguing and insulting. Regardless of the side. As for the first post, I forgot that FOG was ftp too (Sorry, FTPers... I just haven't logged into an FTP world in the last few years.

How smart are you?
Good, very good. 9/10. Didn't remember until I repeated it aloud. I felt like an asinine idiot. My word: Logorrhea. My logorrheic co-worker spends entirely too much time IMing during business hours.

Play to win already, scrubs.
Wow, someone who actually has the same mindset as I do  I hate it when people just play the game for "easy magic exp" . I annoys the [cabbage] out of me! People, I don't like free tokens! Actually, tokens yes, but I don't like free rating! I want to EARN my place on the high scores!!!! A guy called me a noob because he koed me from lag after I hid for five minutes...I lvoed the look on his face when I only lost to him 5 points after he tanked in the center. \ Tanking = epic phail, but feel free to do so, so I can beat you after I hide and bring you down another notch \ Agreed, but you can tank when your opponent is low level - I prefer winning games with only ~500 points. If they have a fairly low HP level, 1 barrage + 4 dd++\2 AGS specs will decimate them. Especially the AGS specs - the AGS spec is very, very powerful on someone with low defence (Like everyone in FOG). Assuming all 3 attacks hit, even without super sets your max is somewhere in the 140-150s, and you rarely miss. Meaning that on average, your going to KO the player with 75 HP, and a barrage on top of that will hit 90s. You can almost always kill them before the barrage even wears off. I haven't played much (Hence the ~300s ranking), but I found the game rather easy. To the rest of this thread: This is sad. This topic needs to be locked, and the rants forum removed (Except that we would then just move to the general discussion..). The average maturity level in this forum has obviously dropped dramatically, and we appear to be incapable of discussing things in a logical fashion. Ever seen youtube comments? We're headed that way fast, and its getting worse every day. I certainly hope things don't turn that bad, but I can see Tip.It forums having to be closed due to this. Ever read articles on trolls? Try reading http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/03/magazine/03trolls-t.html?_r=1&ref=technology&oref=slogin. Sure, we're not there yet, but it proves my point. I won't name any names, but on this thread alone I've seen such immaturity and complete disregard for others personal feelings. Pathetic. Just because no one knows who you are on the internet does NOT mean you have the right to act like a jerk. Don't go on about "freedom of speech", your exercising your "freedom to not be punched in the mouth". In real life, physical consequences limit most of our actions. On the internet, no such consequences are in place, and it is fast becoming a cesspool of hate and proof that the human race is corrupt to the core.

Do you Want Runescape: to have a money/item system?
I won't bother bringing up A Local Guy's famous quote, but suffice to say the moment you play a game just to buy the best stuff, and not to have fun, is the moment you need to quit. If you start buying stuff just to impress those whom you will never meet, you need to work on your real life. I play a game to have fun and get away from the pressures of work, not to be the best. Not that trying to be good is a bad thing; its just that when it overrules the having fun part its time to quit. Most RWTers quit after a few months anyway - once you've gotten everything, what do you do then? If you've bought items, you might as well pay someone to train for you - and then what? Edit upon request: Sorry for the stupid cliché, but... Quoted for Truth.

My New Computer
215 euros = 335 USD. I got my GTX 260 for 220 USD. I won't bother with a link, but it was on sale. I've seen several 260's go for that low, one (An overclocked one with a lifetime warranty) went for $210, but I had already ordered mine and didn't want to RMA again.

How smart are you?
Ooh, good word. Learned that a looooong time ago, never seen anyone using it. 8/10 because I still knew what it meant : Good job looking up my word \ (Time for a Z word) Zeugmatography - "My friend was studying zeugmatography in hopes of landing a better job" EDIT: A sentence isn't required, but helps. It makes it more challenging to find a good word, and proves that you actually know the word.

How smart are you?
1/10, sorry. You didn't provide a sentence, and the word is very common. Abderian. "That abderian brother in law of mine annoys me to no end!"

My New Computer
Thanks for the posts. I can feel the bias against my SSD : Guess what? My current disk utilization on my main computer (Minus photos and downloads on an external drive): 8.16 GB, with Vista. I'm careful with my space, and the most I've ever used is under 30 GB. If I ever feel the need, I'll drop in another hard drive, or add another 64 GB and put it in RAID 0. An SSD far outperforms any RAID setup in real application performance, due to the access times of < .4 ms. Sure, RAID will beat it in sheer transfer speed, but that's not what counts for my uses. As for graphics card, the HD4750 is 300$ vs. 220$ for my GTX (Prices include some extra fees, such as the cost of RMAing my old one). I made the chart in Excel, the actual spreadsheet with pictures, links, and more info is several pages.

Ask a SMART Question, Get a STUPID Answer
So that they can use them as a parachute in case of a long fall. Why is my GTX 260 graphics card 1/4" longer then my case is wide? (Building a computer right now...)

Merchanting isn't dead!
Then why do you only have 50m in your sig? Have you only played for 8 hours so far? (Just kidding, I know how money gets eaten up and numbers grow...) Investing is bad, flipping is good. Investing you make a max of 5% a day, with flipping 20M I can easily make 7-8% a day (That percentage drops somewhat as the cash goes up, but its still not bad). Sure, I'm only making 1.5-1.7m a day, but consider that its ~5-10 minutes of work (Buy\Flip 1-2 times, check a few times in between), I'm making anywhere from 9-20m an hour, but that number is meaningless considering I have a daily limit. And so lies the tradeoffs of GE merching - I could make at least 20-40M a day without the limits (Although merchers would probably go crazy if they were taken off). One item I was buying I could get 10k for min price in a few minutes, and after the limit it sold for max in ~10 minutes. A ~400k profit in 15 minutes, if it wasn't for limits. Although the GE would be in shambles without them, and too many merchers would flood the markets, so its a good thing that they're there. (Sorry for partially incoherent post, I'm typing this at 2:30 AM) True, you only make 5% a day. But think of it like this: it actually more than just 5% of the original price. day 0, item is released at 100k ea day 1, item is now 105k ea day 2, item is now 110.25k ea day 3, item is now 115.76k ea day 4, item is now 121.55k ea ....... day 23, item is now 307.15k ea 23 x 5 = 115. So, instead of making 115% in 23 days of investing, you actually made ~207%. And these are relatively real examples (the leaf-bladed sword started at 70k ea and ended up at a peak of 400k ~30 days later. The blk mask behaved in a similar way.) Your logic is flawed. Flipping uses the same principal; you are increasing the cash you have, not the cash you had. Both types of merchenting benefit from this, so it does not help one or the other. Flipping is still better; my profits are increasing daily, and I'm still new at it! Besides, unless there is a major game change, few items actually climb at 5% a day for an extended period of time, then remain high long enough to sell.

Play to win already, scrubs.
Totally agree. To the rest of you: Shut up. All of you. Sorry for the flame, but virtually every single post is "get over it". If all your going to post is that, why bother? (the "shut up" seems to work on whiny noobs in game, time to test it on the forums. Sad to see tip.it come to this. I now consider this an information forum, not a socializing forum. And I haven't even been on it that long!) And yes, call them whatever they call you back, or simply ignore them and enjoy the fact that you won.

My New Computer
Just thought I'd post this, interesting to read responses. This is what I'm building for my desktop; my current laptop and secondary laptop are doing just fine, but several of my desktops are slowly dying, and half a dozen of them have been recycled for parts. Guess its time for another one : Not bad for the cost, although an extra $100 or so could have been saved if I'd waited for a couple of deals. I have most of the parts; its now just a matter of waiting for them to arrive and assembling. Take time to post, even if it seems stupid; I like to hear opinions :) (Off topic and unrelated - Sorry mods about my "Vista vs. XP thread", I didn't realize that such threads were considered flamebait. I guess Runescape forums isn't the place for computer topics, but I had hoped to gather opinions from a different audience then I usually talk to) EDIT: This is my work computer, NOT for gaming. I do that on my laptop, so no need for a huge hard drive here.

How smart are you?
Not bad, reasonably uncommon. 4/10 Let's see, I'm not in the mood to type up a bunch more, so I guess I'll keep it simple... Onychophagy "My 4 year old cousin suffers from a bad case of onychophagy."

How smart are you?
1/10, sorry. I guess I have a large vernacular, I've known almost all the words so far : Umm... Salicylic? "Salicylic Acid is a phytohormone biosynthesized from phenylalanine" Miscibility? Heteroazeotrope? Acidosis? Osmolality? Nephrology? Aliphatic? Alkylation? Thiols? Trimethylpentane? Isoparaffin? Dimerized? Savills? Meekrab? Diphthong? Schmaltzed? Fracedinous? Theopneustia? Taramasalata? (Hey, a runescape word!) Satyanarayana? Benzoxycamphors? Sesquioxidized? Oxyphenbutazone? Jejunojejunostomy? Dodecahemidodecahedron? Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis? Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu? Honorificabilitudinitatibus? (Shakespeare) Aequeosalinocalcalinoceraceoaluminosocupreovitriolic? Gammaracanthuskytodermogammarus loricatobaicalensis? (Do latin names count?) Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch? (How about places?) Not that good of words, but I can't think of any better English at the moment... And I'm not going to provide examples for each word, spending 20 minutes on a post is against my nature :| EDIT: Stupid Tip.It SQL database killed my word... So much for the 190,000 character, 42 page word I was going to put... At least I got to see a pretty error message? It also killed the one with the weird accents... (Sorry to Tip.It crew if you had any database issues... it didn't like that many strange characters, I guess. Shouldn't have caused any problems though.) EDIT2: Might as well post a link to the file I made of one of the longer words... It repeats itself a bit, but is still pretty long. Link is safe, uploaded it myself (And its just a .txt file, don't let the small size fool you). http://www.fast-files.com/getfile.aspx?file=17929

Creation of JUNK!
Yup, or else try and buy something on the GE that sells for far more on the forums (good luck). If you get junk while training, it works, but is very slow. If you ever try to get junk, its a waste of time (At least at the time).

i can now make cubes!!!
how come then that when u stack rock lobsters and daganoths together it hits 12+ at a time. and i have spent alot of time barraging i barraged from lvl 91-93 mage at rock lobbies. How can you tell its hitting 12+? Not trying to flame you, but its your assumption vs. the Jagex KB. And yes, I've seen this in action. Get ape atoll monkeys lined up with more then 9 in the 3x3 square... then barrage or throw a chin and watch at least one of them not be hit. And I've spent a little bit of time at the lobsters myself, bursting to 90 summon and 16m mage XP. And I've seen a dagganoth\rock lobster not be hit because of bad luring quite a few times. It was nerfed a long, long time ago.

How to Better Secure Your Account V1.3 (updated)
Not bad, I was expecting a error-ridden article that I could pick apart and laugh about (I'm cruel). Still, if you take care of viruses\spyware, and be careful about sharing your computer and where you enter your pass, changing your password and recovery options is not needed. If you want good antispyware protection you need more then just Spybot S&D; I recommend Spyware Doctor for real time protection (System hog) and Lavasoft Ad-Aware for another scanner. Both of those have free versions. AVG is most easily downloaded from free.grisoft.com (Provide links). If you are careful about your downloads, the truth is you don't need any of this, really; I've run antivirus\antispyware programs faithfully for many, many years, and never had a single case turn up. I don't even run them any more, beyond a very periodic scan that catches nothing but a couple of tracking cookies. However, for systems where users are not so tech savy and discriminate about their downloads, I've seen hundreds of spyware programs pile up and drag the system to a halt. I still install them on my customer's PCs (Computer consultant, I know what I'm doing :), just because I can't be sure of how careful they are, but for myself I don't bother. Pretty good guide for newbies, though! And congratz on not being riddled with inaccuracies and myths like most computer related guides on this forums are... (Although its a Runescape forum, not a computer forum ;) )

Andylax38's 9 Lob Bursting/Barraging Guide
Good guide, although I used the 7 lob spot when I was bursting. Only 210-220 crimson per 1k bursts, but faster, uses less prayer, is much safer (I get hit at the most once every 1k bursts), and requires far less attention. Still, this spot is statistically better. I might try it again when I get the urge to go for 99...

Creation of JUNK!
Because you can redeem it for 70% of the price you payed for it? #-o Excluding the secondary. Exactly, you can either exchange, alch, or sell pouches for close to the GE price. So your junk is really only ~10% "junk", but 90% value. Meaning that 1m pouches is "worth" 900k, and is only 100k "junk". I like it when people sell me stuff using pouches as "junk", in one case I actually made money on a junk trade because the seller was too set on "junk" to try and sell the pouches in the GE. As for bows, willow are the exception, but as soon as you can make the higher level ones they sell easily on the GE.
