  1. Get the latest drivers. To the OP: Sorry, but about the only time those settings will change is if the user changes them themselves, in which case they should know how to change it back. I would guess that very few people are having problems with high detail mode due to this. As for NVIDIA drivers, LaptopVideo2Go.com is far better then NVIDIA's site; it includes the latest drivers which frequently provide better performance. Don't say it's too complicated for the average user... you download the file, unzip it, add the inf, and run setup[Caution: Executable File]. The tutorial makes it obvious, and you don't have to worry about what graphics card you have. I'll edit this post later with more information if necessary.
  2. Umm... so what? No offense, but there's a huge difference between players using 3rd party programs, often with malware, and a programming language. Technically Java is a "3rd party program", although not on the same scale as JOGL. Still, I'm having a hard time seeing the discussion value... #-o
  3. I don't see how SwiftKit runs faster and more stable than something what's made only to do one thing, I think you're confusing a ToolKit with a Pricer. I'm the original yeh. Ah, ok. Still, when I can just switch to my GE Database firefox window and type in what I want in <2 seconds, I really don't see a need.
  4. I tried it, but sadly I've found that the latest version of SwiftKit has more features, runs faster, and is stabler. Plus I'm moving to Vista. It looks like it has great potential, though. Keep at it!
  5. Ignore the noob gear, I'm saving all my gee pees right now. ILY Zilly... It was about time though, 350 kills with only 1 SS.
  6. Browser doesn't make that big of a difference, so long as its regularly stable (Which, with a updated and patched system, all 3 of the major contenders are). Runescape runs Java, so it mostly depends on your Java version and a little on how your browser's Java plugin works. As for SwiftKit and the official Runescape client, they all are running masked IE (Don't believe me? Go to any website that displays what browser you are running).
  7. Hate to be a killjoy, but they have to develop the new graphics BEFORE they design the graphics for the quest. So yeah, they might have some of the plot and dialog worked out before the update, but it still takes a while to completely redesign the graphics for a quest. Anyway, they could just update an existing quest with just as spectacular of graphics... its not like this is a game engine allowing them to do better things, this IS the "better things".
  8. Gauntlets were good, FTP needed something in the way of gloves. I'm not so crazy about the rune berserker, the time to repair seems too much of a hassle to make the tiny defence and +4 strength bonuses worth it.
  9. Mummies are a bad idea. They are slower, MORE EXPENSIVE EVEN AFTER DROPS, and much more of a pain then chinchompas. Wear the best range bonus you can afford. Expect 200-240 XP per chin, depending on range level. Always use range pots and eagle eye.
  10. You don't show where to attack them (Many people don't know about the southern spot), and you need to swap those infinity boots for dragon, the helm for nezitinot when not on task, and the ring of wealth for life\berserker. Ring of wealth does not help here. SS is way better then zammy spear, its +8 crush vs +8 strength, and I rarely miss. If you want to make it comprehensive, talk about using unicorn and wearing proselyte instead of karils, talk about piety\+15% strength prayer, talk about void melee, talk about prayer switching, talk about the range method for 1 prayer pures, talk about the charms and XP per hour at various levels, talk about the charms per trip for various levels... I know you said that this was for players that had at least a clue about how to get there and kill them, but much of what I said is not common knowledge.
  11. Zoom way in on it. It's the old graphics, just an extreme closeup that makes it look somewhat smoother and more detailed then our usual faraway cam view.
  12. And if you mage them in full metal armor, you can get 1m+ mage XP per yak! Everyone go to these amazing animals! Just kidding, you sort of have a point : Still, hp XP usually isn't counted - few people are going for HP levels alone. I'd recommend you expanded this tip a bit, with info on XP\hour rates, how to get there, what to wear when fighting, etc.
  13. Not really, by the time you hit the mid 50's you can usually get XP faster from training then questing. I could see it being helpful at level 1, though. Especially if you were planning on doing the quest anyway.
  14. Its at the most 350k per hour, 500k is off. If a lot of people get ahold of this, prices will go down making it even less attractive. D hides are somewhat better money, so I can't really recommend this unless you need to earn 1m quick to start d hides.
  15. Himm, not sure I agree with all of it, but interesting point of view.
  16. Gold 250 500? "horrrible" experience? Hello, you can break 300K XP\hour with them, better then virtually any other skill. Face it, summoning can be leveled so fast by pouchcrafting that the prices HAVE to be high. And its worth it; I'm 89 summoning, and the unicorn stallion alone is worth 100s of millions to me. I didn't say gold are horrible. I said GREEN are horrible. And green is lousy because of the cost of shards. Green are easily available from tons and tons of monsters and I have more than I know what to do with. Gold are good, but so easy to get in bulk that they couldn't be too expensive. Shard cost is fairly small with trading, but the only way green could stay low would be if everyone used crimson for expensive leveling, and gold for cheaper leveling. Green would be left out until its price went low enough to make it cheaper\faster then gold, which could be fairly quickly if prices go up to what I believe they would.
  17. How would that work? Not only do those charms provide much more XP then those respective bones at higher levels, you can craft them more then twice as fast as offering bones, which requires a high construction level or a helpful friend.

  19. If they would gladly pay 10k+ each for them, why would they only be 6k? Good point though, bursting is about 5-6k per crimson, and is only around 120 per hour; if someone is willing to pay that much for a fairly slow gathering method, wouldn't they pay much more for instant charms? How would they possibly go below 6k each?
  20. No, there not rare, but they do take a while to get in large quantities. Plus, there are a limited number of ways to farm them; there are only so many waterfiends and rock lobsters. And there are a LOT of people willing to pay through the nose to get them.
  21. 5k? No way, what does waterfiends being crowded have to do with a lower price? If they were crowded, more people would buy them, causing the price to rise. 30k is on the high side, I'd guess they'd settle at around 20-25k. It could be higher, if there are a lot of rich-but-lazy people who find gathering charms boring. it takes some hours to gather 1k crimson, where if your lucky it takes 1 trip to get arma hilt ;) so you can possible more cash if you buy charms and get money back gwd'ing  Yup. Theoretically, I make around 4m an hour at sara, and average around 2m an hour at bandos. So if I can either make 4m, or get 90 crimson charms, to me the crimson charms are worth over 44k each. Even at bandos, its over 22k per charm, and sara seems to be better money so far.
  22. No way. I'm fairly poor, with a bank worth of under 100m, but I would GLADLY pay 30k per crimson charm. I'm sure someone with more money then they know what to do with would jump at the chance to get 99 summoning in a few hours. Lol 30k a crimson charm? more like 5k >.< Do you have any idea how crowded waterfiends would be if crimson charms were 30k each? im thinking more like 30k a blue charm.

  24. Crimson would be very high, higher then the cost of bursting to get them. Think of all the people like me who burst for them. I'd gladly pay 10k+ per crimson; at waterfiends I can get around 90 per hour, meaning I'm getting 900k worth of charms per hour. I can easily earn double or triple that, so me and every other high level that knows decent ways to earn money or has a cash pile would jump on it. Problem is, at high levels with crimson, crafting with a kyatt is well over 700k per hour. You could literally go from 1-99 summoning in under 10 hours with blues. Blues would probably be around 25-30k, due to their better pouches and increased experience. Gold and green would be in the 2-6k range, with green being somewhat higher. Even with gold, you can get 200k+ XP per hour. They could go even higher, especially when they first "became" tradable; anyone with a few hundred mill sitting around would go buy themselves 99 summoning in a couple of hours. I'd be willing to pay around 30k per crimson, just because I can earn enough to make it worth it. 40k would be about my limit; any higher and I'd go back to bursting. It would make magic training easier, though... Bursting lobsters would break even, and would make 99 hp and magic very, very easy (Trust me, I burned over 100M there. It got me 16.5m mage XP, and well over 99 HP despite my low melee stats). So the upper end of the prices would probably be: Gold: 8K, Green: 12K, Crimson: 30k, Blue: 70k. At least, that's what I'd be willing to pay for them, and I'm sure some others with access to the best money making methods would too. At the lowest, crimson would never drop below 10k and blues below 25k.
  25. i´ve seen ppl overclock the same cpu to over 4ghz with even worse coolers than me im running thermaltake ultra 120 extreme cooler and the cpu is 45nm and it is supposed to overclock really good. So have I. I've also seen them wonder what happened when their machine dies in under a year. You don't need to follow my advice, but even with a 45 nm chip and th ebest cooler, your still significantly shortening the life. And seriously, how often are you actually needing that performance advantage?
