  1. Yeah, it's like saying that because you can buy a dragon hatchet to make you train faster it therefore makes woodcutting a buyable skill lol.
  2. if you had the luck of starting playing runescape after the release of slayer, you really should just train your combat skills with slayer always, it is the most efficient way overall. Doing that you'll find combat more fun, make decent cash, get decent charms and just get slayer levels as a bonus. Slayer is more of just a skill like hp tbh; if you only train your combat skills on slayer tasks you'll find you're 85 slayer long before you're finished with combat skills altogether.
  3. you need a massive sample for the results to be statistically significant. If Jagex has stated how it works it means that it does work, its just that its doesnt have a massively noticeable effect. This is a completely pointless experiment. The drop system is that when you kill a monster, it spins a wheel with a an area of the wheel assigned to each drop and an area of the wheel assigned to rare loots. If it lands on the rare loots part it causes another wheel to spin with the rare drops assigned to areas of wheel. Where the wheel lands is what drop you get. The ring of wealth increases the area of the wheel that is assigned to 'rare loots' therefore it just increases the chance that the second wheel spins. It does not increase the chances of you getting the rarest loot over the least rare of the loots still considered rare.
  4. I killed 843 and got 2 claws (128th kill then next 715 kills later), 0 dragon plate peices. I spoke to quite a few people while i killed mine and its massively varied; heard of many who have a couple at a rate of about 150-200 kills but also some people who have taken 500+ without and even 1000 kills without so i reckon the average might be around 300-350. But to be honest its really hard to tell.
  5. Back in 2004 i had a nice party hat set, i decided to quit runescape for WoW. It came to my last day of runescape subscription so thought lets just double or nothing my set as i never expected to come back. I then decide to give runescape a try again over 4 years later and so i effectively gave away almost 1 bill.
  6. I believe there is easily enough content in the game as it is and i am very happy with their minor fixes. If you're bored of the game as you've run out of content, go play another game. Is that not what you would do when you complete other games? Asking for updates week in week out that provide content that last is not feasible. You guys have got used to a game where new content is bashed out very quickly so when it doesnt come you whine. You have no idea about what problems may be happening behind the scenes. Being someone who quit the game for 4 years, having come back the most noticeable changes are not the upfront content but the minor improvements that have made the gameplay better. Unfortunately, with all projects there can be setbacks, some of which can take a very long time to fix especially in the software development industry.
  7. There was the bug where people could complete the last part of the waterfall quest over and over to keep get the reward each time. There was a mass ban for that iirc.
  8. I think that the most famous player at the current time will always be the person no.1 on hiscores as all players check the hiscores and see that name first every time. I started playing in 2002 and at that time the most famous players were bluerose13x as he got 99 smithing first (i think, cant remember) and tks who was at number 1. Ever since Zezima became number 1 which was about 6 years ago he has been the most famous. Some other very famous names are Lilyuffie for first maxing combat. The Old Nite who was second on hiscores for years.
  9. I found it better to kill the north east spawn, lure the other 1 round to the west side of the big rock at the north wall. It will now always stay in that spot pretty much however badly you lure the north east spawn so it's a very easy spot to kill them with no risks of an interuption. I then kill the north east spawn with a whip and usually only eat 2-3 sharks a kill average, i get about 12-15 kills a trip with a war tortoise full with sharks (im only 73 summoning). Then it takes 5 mins to back and get back. I usually find i earn 80-120k of standard drops per trip, which covers the cost of the supplies. I bring a super set, range pot, 6 pray pots, rest sharks. A trip lasts around an hour i think so then i bank in 5 minutes and am back. I got my first claws yesterday after 128 kills, took 10-11 hours of killing them so was a nice 2.5m+ profit an hour.
  10. Very interesting read, brings back a lot of memories. Especially interesting about the very early history from before i started, i never heard about the evil magic or good magic thing, however people did refer to the 'new runes'.
  11. The current way that items work will become exhausted you cannot just keep making new more powerful weapons when our hp limit is only at 99 or let people level using more and more powerful weapons it will just keep making leveling easier and easier to where the game is degraded. If it isnt that hard to max out, and you dont enjoy skilling anywhere as near as much as combat, when you max out theres little incentive to keep playing.
  12. In my opinion they should make a long quest with the requirements of maxed melee stats. The reward should be the ability to buy an item that is very expensive eg.100m. Although i agree the item should be only usable against monsters as it's easy enough to KO players now. If they made the quest really long involving lots of aspects of runescape it would make like an ultimate challenge for those who have already maxed their combat stats which could lead to load of new monsters that are interesting and high level and hard to kill but only possible if you have obtained this item. Perhaps they could have a range of bosses available to kill if you have this item, each boss drops a specific part of an item set that is non-tradeable, therefore if someone manages to complete this task of getting a full set it shows that are truly a great player. At the moment it is not really possible to keep making new items that are more powerful but can be used for leveling as it is already very easy to get very quick xp. Runescape was made a long time ago with many people maxing their melee stats years ago, and with the xp rates currently many more maxing out now. Runescape needs a new dimension for when you become a high level, the process of leveling has been exhausted and i believe that something along these lines could be an answer.
  13. I have been playing games where we agree to draw. The teams arent big, only 20 or so, so all the training spots are open. Im training attack and get 45k xp an hour on jellies there and 6 zeals which gives 46.8k an hour, so 90k+ an hour guaranteed every hour, with no competition for spots. In my opinion the xp rewards will get reduced and it's a matter of how long it takes jagex to realise how high the xp levels are and at what level to reduce them to.
  14. In my opinion doing this would be pointless. It will annoy a lot of people very much, yet doesn't really improve the game for anyone. Party hat numbers aren't that high any more, i rarely see people walking around in one, unlike before i quit in 2004- i used to have many friends with a full set, i had a full set too (staked it and lost when i bought my WoW subscription), but now all these friends have either sold the majority to skill or have quit with no plans to return to runescape with their party hats sitting in their unused bank account. Very few people who actually got one when it dropped will still have that same one and then plan to sell it, so really the point about it being an unfair advantage is not really relevant. It doesn't change any ones gaming experience by seeing someone wearing a party hat, it just shows that this person wanted to waste lots of valuable gp on a status symbol rather than improving their character, if they want to do that why stop them?
  15. im up for some KQ, dont have veracs but probably can borrow my friends for any runs, if im allowed to come just message me on my pure 'Sabre2k3' as i will probably be on him :)
  16. etleast the helm gives str bonus... but full dragon is more like something yo have then wearing for real combat... bttr buy battow if you need it for combat :P but its still buttr then rune etc... i'm sorry i didn't understand a word of that if you dont understand that maybe you should pay attention more in english lessons :S
