1. Hey, the world hasn't ended. What a surprise.
2. A bit comical, but more sad IMO. Also, I wouldn't call them Christian if they don't base their beliefs on the Bible. This is a usual case of a few nutcases getting way too much attention. Anyway, I'm off to eat breakfast. While I can.

O_O Also, I thought the stuff they used when pulling teeth was stronger. Like David-after-dentist stronger.

Another thing is that novocaine doesn't affect everyone. My sister, mom, and aunt all have horror stories where they went to the dentist and no amount of anesthetic made them numb. You should probably ask if they have the other stuff, whatever it is.

See if you can find a dentist that uses a laser drill, or "waterlase". I've got two fillings without anesthetic with it, and the worst that happens is that it stings a lot and your mouth feels weird for maybe three or so hours afterwards. You can apparently find dentists that use it on laserdentistry.com. This may sound like an advertisement, but for someone who is trypanophobic like myself, it's the best dentist-related thing that ever happened.

Spent yesterday nolifing on Khanacademy (Amazing site), so today I'm going to work on the last school thing I have to do before the summer. Then I can get back to watching Khanacademy. With a good conscience.
7. Since he's your ex, for you it's £2000.
8. Found pictures of the Helsinki Music Hall:
Now that is good modern architecture. And good photography.
9. The Milwaukee Art Museum is pretty awesome: I'm a big fan of the geometric, faceted, glass and metal style that is Finnish architecture. My signature has a hint of that in it. The new music hall in Helsinki really epitomizes this, but it's so new that there are few pictures of it from the inside.
10. Hey, that's pretty good! Gratz everybody! :-)

That's the beauty of it. The source is wide open, so which encryption algorithm is used is known by anyone with the skills who wants to know, but because of the way the algorithm works, it doesn't matter. Like in my example, you were lucky enough to know not just the algorithm, but also the fact that I used two numbers. I could have done it with three and gotten the same result, which makes the number of possibilities even higher. But even given that, you still couldn't "crack" it.

This time "unhackable" has more to do with mathematical proof than a web service like facebook, where it's a question of plugging individual holes. I don't claim to fully understand advanced cryptography like this, but simply put, encryption algorithms are made to be easy to do in one direction but hard to do in reverse, think of it this way (Obviously a very dumbed down example): To get 30, you might multiply 5 by 6: 5 * 6 = 30 But what if you want to get the original two numbers that made 30 (the encrypted data), i.e. the unencrypted data? x * y = 30 You would end up with several possibilities, 5 and 6, 2 and 15, 3 and 10, and those in the reverse order. If you have the key, (Again, my understanding of this is fuzzy) you can tell which data was used to create the cyphertext. Bittorrent works on very much the same principal as this program, and so far there have been no true "hacks" that I am aware of, as the integrity of the data is checked at every transaction. Well maybe you just don't read the right news sites then. Slashdot has had numerous stories on in the past few months.

Eh, if it's digital it can be copied. Unless, like multiplayer video game keys, controlled by the company...which the USA will not approve. I'm not going to go into cryptographic details, but it can definitely not be copied. I have had 0.05BC for a while now, I've tried to generate more but to no avail. :(
14. I took that one B&W picture, sharpened it a bit and blew out the white, IMO it improves it: (OK so I went a bit overboard)
15. Basically what Myu said. The way I have heard it put is that if you don't know what you are doing, you will draw a symbol, not the object. A symbol for a person might be a stick man, or the symbol for a chair might be a kind of h shape. You have to learn to objectify what you see in your reference picture. Don't see a wolf, see lines, contours, gradients etc. +1 About the medium. Photoshop is one way, but ultimately it's not up to the tool or the medium, it's up to the artist.
16. Well I would guess that Android developers (Since it's them that make the apps, not Android, which is the name of the OS) are the kind of people more interested in that kind of an app. Although an iOS dev may well have made an attempt at making such an app, or even finished one, there is always the possibility that Apple did not accept the app into their app store. Not hard, but time consuming. And expensive if you don't have a Mac and an Apple developer license. (Well of course how hard it is depends on your prior experience really)
17. I don't know, but I want it. (On a more serious note, I can see it being used on MM&T, lots of indie artists use it)
18. If so then what is spamming? bobobobobobobobobobbobobobobobobo is spamming So basically just writing a bunch of nonsense over and over? Personally I would define spamming as any post that either adds no sort of value to the discussion. Trolling and flaming could be considered spamming, as could needless advertising. Heh, you should also avoid posting many times in a row (Double or triple posting), if you want to say something more and you were the last one to post on the topic, just edit that post and add what you wanted to say.
19. Hey, it would be cool if we could embed songs using the Soundcloud player. That is all.

I've been in a similar situation to you, actually I pretty much still am, except that the teachers believe me. I think that the (in this case, handicapped) kid is in denial, however; he says that he doesn't feel bullied, when he definitely is being bullied. (Without going into details) I didn't have a lot of time to write this post I just wanted to say keep it up. Bullying sucks, and I really respect the effort that you're making to stop it. :-)
21. Disagree. It is easier to do complex things on Linux than it is on Windows (and it there will be little to no bugs, problems or complications). Example: Partitioning a hard drive. Example 2: Installing from source code and leaving out certain parts of the program. This. The Windows command line is almost completely useless. To change some advanced setting you have to go through five levels of UI junk instead of one or two commands. This. This. This. It is crazy what I can do on Linux without it crashing. Whenever I have to use Windows (All too often, almost exclusively at school however) it disappoints me at what it can't handle. I have a habit of screwing up my Linux installation over time, so now, at 16 days before the next Ubuntu release, my installation of Ubuntu runs really "slow". That means it takes me about a minute to get to my desktop. Windows just won't do that, and once it's at the desktop Windows just fails at staying responsive.
22. It's free Updates are free It generally runs faster No need for antivirus/antispyware It makes a lot of things a lot less complicated than on Windows (IMO the general UI is much simpler, on Ubuntu at least) Very easy to install programs Those would be the reasons that I use Linux if I was just a desktop user.
23. Speaking as someone whose job is basically heavy graphics work, I can say that with a few exceptions this whole "OS X is better for graphics" thing is a myth. All of Pixar's animators, compositors, riggers, and probably modelers and technical directors use Linux (Fedora last I heard). And their movies are rendered on Linux. Enough said. Not really, I could go on. About use of Linux for general home use however, I would argue that Ubuntu has made it so easy to Get Stuff Done (Too easy for some people) that all of the stuff that the average computer user wants to do is easily just as good or better than Windows/OS X. As for the rest of the stuff, it really depends on what you want to do. Graphics work great- In fact, open-source graphics software is all I use for my job as a freelance web and graphic designer. Video is a little bit more patchy, but it's improving at a rapid pace. I don't claim to know anything about audio, but from my knowingly-uneducated layman's perspective, it's OK at least. Gaming... Well, it depends on which game, Source games (HL2, TF2, CSS, Portal...) and WoW are known to work excellently. Servers, databases, programming etc. on Linux obviously work great but that's possibly not what you're into. [/hide]Hey, good to know. Now I can't defend Macs at all. Though it really ought to be made more well known that Pixar uses mostly Linux, that's pretty neat. Yeah, if you look at the behind the scenes videos you can see they're using Linux all over.
24. Interesting, I tried it on some different calculators and got different answers: My desktop calculator (gnome-calculator): 2 Edit: When I typed in 48/2*(9+3) it was 288. PHP ( print 48/2*(9+3); ): 288 Python ( print(48/2*(9+3)) ): 288 C: 288
#include <stdio.h> int main(void) { int i = 48/2*(9+3); printf("i is %i\n", i); return 1; } I would assume that the calculator would be more reliable, seeing as it's, you know, a calculator. But apparently not.
