The RC xp was 30k an hour with no profits. Don't quite understand the nerf.

Dungeoneering - New training methods for other skills
Torlen replied to Leoo's topic in General Discussion
It takes exactly 1 minute to craft 500 runes. It's 30k xp/hour. Not really worth the time considering you can get that much and profit doing it outside of the dungeons. -
No. At the highest complexity you should receive nothing except a bit of food and some money. If you want a basic set of armor and weaponry play a lower complexity and take the xp loss.

I really can't imagine this going down particularly well within the community. Many people will be furious that they got 99 in a skill and they're no longer the best they can be in it. It's certainley interesting. I have 17 99's and would be ecstatic if the cap was lifted.

You do know that you can examine an item and see what tier it is? Higher tier = higher quality.

For all of you who don't like it, play with some friends. I'm having a blast.

Just start thinking of another goal once the one you are nearing gets close. I find that if I haven't thought through what to do next before I get to it, then I usually get bored and take a break for a few weeks.

Getting a skill to level 80 only takes a few days of work if you really put your mind to it. Knowing what is to come only takes the surprise out of a game with very few surprises left.

Easier to get your first 99 then your second and so on?
Torlen replied to Albel's topic in General Discussion
I have 15 99's and for me, they definitely got easier the more I gained. -
I'm all for people playing their own game, but I lol'd at this. Most serious players are against Pest Control because of the insane amounts of xp you get without trying hard at all. I consider saving the money to buy the bones (which I did) more of an accomplishment than coasting through pest control for a few days.

I never quite understood peoples hesitations to contribute to the social system by purchasing materials. I mean, it is an MMO, the people that exist alongside the game with you aren't just their for talking. If your game play is unaffected by them, why not just do a single player game and talk to people in a chat room instead? At least then you don't have to worry about spot thieves. Every 99 I have, I paid for in some way, and I honestly couldn't imagine playing any other way. It is a game and I don't necessarily have fun collecting the particulars I need for a skill. *Edit* I've noticed some people claiming being "self-made" make you a wealthier player because everything you do is profit. I can assure you, money is something I rarely ever don't have enough of, even after spending 100m+ each on smithing, farming, and prayer. Not being self-made means you don't have to collect the petty things you need for another skill, you can stick to the most expensive and turn a quicker profit than those who end up turning a valuable raw material into something usually useless.

The real question is, why didn't you sell the rune ores when they peaked? Or over the next few days when they were crashing?

To sum it up: "I don't know how to make money anymore :("

If you're averaging less than 5 herbs per patch, then you aren't using super compost. Problem solved.

If they are actually doing it from the US, then taking down a server based in the US is grounds for prosecution, regardless of where the HQ of the company resides.
-
I doubt they are true DDOS attacks, as those are very highly illegal. I really hope some kid wouldn't ruin his future just to grief Jagex. "Denial of service attacks are illegal in the US under 12 different statutes, including the Economic Espionage Act and the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act." - Source: http://revision3.com/blog/2008/05/29/inside-the-attack-that-crippled-revision3/ They are also illegal in the UK, as well as most of the other more modernized countries, but I'm not going to bother looking them all up. Just hope these kids know what they could be possibly getting themselves into if that is what they are truly doing, which I very seriously doubt. The resources and time needed don't match up with someone saying, "OK, I'm going to knock this server down now," with an instant server outage. It just wouldn't happen. I would have to agree with some previous posters that it's more likely a botnet, if anything is actually happening at all. It's more likely some sort of botnet, or a POD (Ping of Death) attack.

I usually check before I give out my ags. If I forget, and they didn't bother, it's their problem. People have to learn from their mistakes.

I made a lot of money on the way to 99 with it. It's a great skill that most people don't take advantage of.

Does "Attack" and "+Attack" actually make a difference?
Torlen replied to @Dan3HitU's topic in General Discussion
It's been a long time since I got 99 attack, but I notice a huge difference when I sip a super attack potion. That includes on people in Castle Wars. -
No more weapons, I'd like to see resists (fire, earth, wind, water) on armors and enchants (same as armor resists) on weapons. It would add an entirely new element (lol) into the game
-
It also isn't a ddos attack. A true ddos attack would have the FBI knocking on the kids door because it's very against the law and a very easy thing for your ISP to notice going on. They use pod (ping of death) attacks which are similar, but not quite a ddos. Anyone who this happens to should report it to their isp. My isp called me out and threatened to shut down my net because I opened a port remotely on someone elses computer with their permission.

I 100% agree. I was really appalled to find one of tip.its own moderators on the side of merchanting clans. I had always thought tip.it admins were a bit more careful than that.

I forgot that I don't "need" super restores at any God Wars except Bandos. And yes, God Wars is a "need" place for some. Some people do boss fights all the time. Not everyone plays the same way you do, and in return, not everyone has the same "needs" as you.
