You may want to try Jad as it currently is, I think. They buffed the hell out of the healers: they heal enough that two or more can outheal you, and distracting them like you would in ye olde days doesn't work.

The thing with Jad is that losing to him when you're still learning the mechanics feels more cheap than anything else. You can lose close to an hour of work simply because of one mistake that, if it's your first time fighting him, you might not even know you made, and that's going to happen for as long as it takes for you to learn prayer switching... And then some, because then you have to do it all while managing the healers. It feels great to beat him, yeah, but losing to him feels more like bullshit than something you can learn from: "I have to get better, but the only way I can get better is by wasting another hour in the (relatively effortless) caves". If it must be balanced around that period, maybe make it so that you can only attempt it once an hour, and only after you've been to the final wave at least once?

Then can we just ban the jackass and move on with our lives?

This reminds me of when I bought Saint's Row 2 during the last Steam sale! And then tried Dark Souls without a controller. Granted, the latter game has basically perfect controls on a controller, but they really don't translate well to keyboard/mouse.

I tend to have more of an issue with the kind if stuff that relies more on luck than anything else. That Luvdisc, for example... faster than pretty much everything you have access to at that point, and the battle basically comes down to when you wake up and whether you'll hit yourself in the one turn before it puts you back to sleep.

Standard 386 hack stuff. It's Fire Red with a much higher level curve, anime cameos, and the usual "difficulty" bullshit. Like, grinding for Surge means getting into the low 30s on level 10 wilds, and Misty opens with a Luvdisc that has sweet/lovely kiss at perfect accuracy. I've heard the champion's ace is at 92 and you have to grind on 50s :-( ...Hacks would be cool if hackers didn't all seem to go "POKEMON GAMES ARE EASY SO LET'S GIVE BROCK A LEVEL 30 ACE WITH DOUBLE TEAM AND STONE EDGE" note: may include hyperbole. it's not a bad hack, just not my kind of thing
