He's not saying that the Iraqi's would be better off without US help, its just that you have handled the situation terribly. Im not saying that any of those names are logical. Its just that completely inappropriate sports never steal those names for completely illogical reasons. And it's not just a name. It's the world's most popular sport, and is a massive part in many peoples' lives. I bet you'd be a fair bit pissed off if a new country was set up also called America?

I assume thats directed at me. If not, apologies. I don't think you've read what I wrote. Football should be called football, because it involves kicking a ball, with your foot. Americans, when they named American Football this, needed then a word to describe football. They chose soccer, the very old word for football. If the Americans hadn't chosen such an inapproproate name for their game, the whole need to call it soccer wouldn't have arisen. Where is the logic in calling American Football football?

Why does that matter? So just because you're from America, you have to follow the wrong norm? Why not decide for yourself which makes more sense, and then call it whichever you choose? Sorry, but why is it 'wrong'? As mentioned before, there are very few positions in American Football which require you to use your feet. I could draw a direct comparison to hackey-sack. SOMETIMES you use your foot, so should that be called football too? Thats the logic American Football seems to have taken...

Well, an oscilloscope can show sound, and in a sense, a radio shows radio waves... I'm sure there are devices for displaying them however. Doesn't seem to hard.

Is there technology to see air? What about radio waves and satellite signals? Or sound waves? Do you ever post anything else than to try to sound smart? Seriously, you try too hard. @unknownmaster, if you count the weather satellites meteorologists use to track wind direction/levels/etc. through the clouds. That was pointless, hypocritical and wrong. The US is the super power of the world and the economic center of the world, thats pretty significant. Football all the way, I've never called it 'soccer' in my life, and it does greatly annoy me to hear it called that. However, like Rebel, I did see a documentary of pre-war football, and the commentator reffered to it as 'soccer', do my distaste of the word did lessen slightly.

I heard on the afternoon news, on Radio 2 that the rule would only apply to non-league games so the Premiership, or Div 1, 2 and 3 ( I refuse to acknowledge the Coca Cola Championship) would be unaffected. I think its a good idea for things like the FA Cup or Carling Cup. The endless replays can destroy a team's chances in the league or Europe. I hear Chelsea, Arsenal and Man U always end up with massive amounts of games in a small amount of time, a lot of the time, and so this could benefit them. However i also think its very unfair for the smaller clubs whose only chance against a big club is to batten down the hatches and try to get a point.

What he's saying is that why do we label people who do one thing criminals, and homosexuals as not. (I think) Probably a terrible way to put it aswell, so don't quote me on it. Now i've recently got back into playing Worms World Party online again, but the troulbe is i've forgotten the rules for the different game types. I've remembered how to play 'shoppa', but i'm still stumped on the modes like 'WxW' and 'W3W'. The hosts are always 'far too busy' to tell me the rules before kicking me from the game, so does anyone here know? Thanks in advance, PJ

The Trident system was never designed FOR attacking Russia, its just that they were the only enemies of the West who needed deterring with MAD at the time. I think replacing them, however costly, is still vitally important. Our navy/army/RAF is simply not powerful enough to deter a rogue state from a fully fledged invasion. I feel we need these nuclear deterrents just to stop any corrupt nations from ever trying their luck with our forces pre-occupied in the Middle East.

The atom bomb, whilst a massively effective way of killing, is not 100% a bad thing, in my opinion. It helps keep MAD in place, and although we have evolved into the era of ICBMs and MIRVS, etc, when it was first made and used, the atom bomb probably ended up saving more lives than it took away, simply because of how quickly it ended the war. Although I totally agree the US was COMPLETELY out of line in using it, especially twice.

I loved the documentary, as I was finally proven right at school. My favourite bit was what one of the scientists said towards the end... 'The situation is like this at the moment. Our car has broken down, and instead of looking at the engine, the exhaust, or other major parts of it, we're focusing on the nut on the back wheel.'

I don't hate America, but various things, which are usually stereotypical, and quite rare in America really do piss me off. Quick story about my Dad. We were on holiday in Seattle. After driving for hours to get there (from Jasper or Banff or somewhere North of Vancouver) we were exhausted and so stopped off at the first place we could find, a McDonalds. We went in, got our stuff and sat down. At the table next to us was the typical white trash family (I wonder now what the hell they were doing in Washington State, I thought they were from the South?), overweight mother, with 8 skinny as hell kids. One of the kids opened up her burger and said, in a voice which made my Dad clench his fist so hard he broke a knuckle, 'Hey mooooooooooom, there's an onion on my burrrrrrgerrrrrrrr'. So for starters, the stereotypical accent annoys me, not America's fault, but it still makes me rather annoyed. Second of all, its the stereotypical patriotism. I know full well few people except the Colonel in Kentucky, and people like him only cry when they see some apple pie, or the 'Stars 'n' Stripes', but it still annoys the hell out me. Again, not America's fault, but meh. Thirdly is the damned cockiness of uneducated Americans. I've already seen a few comments in the thread featuring these, and they are possibly my most hated thing about the country. Everywhere you look, there are comments about how America pwns everyone else, about how they do everything for everyone without getting gratitude, and just generally things which match the type of talk the world has come to hate.

As much as I dislike Astra for his big fancy words, I have to agree with him here. Stop whining and where the damned uniform. It's there for a reason, and just because that reason is defuct now doesn't come into it. What's the point of ties? I wear one for school, as does everyone else, and nobody starts campaigns to get them banned. They're certainely annoying enough, my eyes are constantely bloodshot in the winter because the wind blows it into my eyes [/exaggeration], and yet you just have to take it. You chose (or, maybe not in your case) to go to the school, so follow their rules. :roll:

Well the later series of Johnny Bravo had me and my Dad in stitches on the floor, I loved that man so... And to this day, i proudly still watch Pok̮̩̉̉mon on a saturday morning before school.

No it wouldn't, that would suck. The series has always been about Link, yet called the Legend of Zelda. Either change all or none. And Zelda sounds better than Link.
