I have that same problem. I don't use SS though, I use mIRC. what is this mIRC and IRC you speak of? iv never used a third party client only the dude who's guide tells you how to put desktop links for worlds, you own world switching man! I've never used SS either. MiRC is a completely different (legal) program. Most ops/admins here use it. I've been using mIRC for years. I don't understand why people want to use SS so bad. What better options does it offer? With the world delays the world switcher won't work. A stats look up? Big deal, just use mIRC or just open up another page. I never did understand why SS became so popular after the world delays were introduced by Jagex, but maybe I'm missing something.... For me, the main reason was because the IRC was on the same page. With mIRC, i have to minimise the window, or hide the window with rs in to talk in, or even to read the conversations, and then re-open it. Very inconveient, especially if im lagging. Also, i think that mIRC is much harder to a.) use and b.) look at than SS's irc. SS irc is just simple, and yet isnt basic.

i recommend the magic axes in lvl 52 wildy or w/e, near the mage bank. Just take weapon, rune plate and legs, and a full invo of any food, and you can stay there for hours. It got me 65-70 attack...

Well don't do it for a living then :P Personally I could never do it, but some people do get payed lots of money to test video games. Rarely is it just "playing" though. this is exactely what put me off the idea of testing for good. Basically, there is a raffle of sorts to decide which game each team member will have to test. After you have your games, you have to play them to DEATH. You have to go to every single place, do every single thing, pretty much just play until you want to take the game case and use it to gouge your eyes out, and then play another 50000 hours. What makes it even scarier is the prospect of getting a terrible game. You still have to play it to completeion and more after that.

well thats slightly useful, because one can still use the SP and get a reasonable degree of fun from it. Original gameboys are just terribly designed machines, and their games can be played on GBA's...

Although i don't have the picture anymore, i know of a gold-plated Original Gameboy, you know the one i mean...The huge, gray, bricks whose screen looked radioactive. It cost like 10k (dollars) if i remember correctly...

i'm sorry, but i did not understand half of that. I literally have never even LOOKED into this before, so things like OpenGL, C++ etc are just going over my head. The last paragraph in particular had me stumped. So i'll have to take maths as an A level if i want this to go anywhere serious? Also, my school/sixth form doesn't do programming, which is why i'm needing to do it myself.

OK, i am seriously considering a career working with games, but the trouble is, as enthusiastic as i am at the moment, i haven't got the slightest clue as to anything programmy. I need something that will ease me into it, start me off with some basic projects, and generally just show me the ropes, get me started etc. I looked on http://www.borders.co.uk just now, under the '____ for dummies' search results, and there are a ton of programming books, with things like VDA and Excel etc. I dunno which one is what i want :? Does anyone have any advice on the matter? Any free tutorials, tips on where to get the software/hardware i might need?

Well, i think as long as theyre serious about it, and know what theyre on about, its great, and can be very attractive. If a girl is just doing it to impress a guy, and claims to play 'popular' games such as Crazy Frog Racer *crosses chest*, then thats the most annoying thing in the world, but the reverse is true too. A girl playing great games for entertainments sake is one of life's beautiful and rare things :P

i remember something in England a while back called 'Puzz-3D'. I absolutely loved them, but i dunno what has happened to them since... I'm not the biggest fan of regular puzzles, because i find drawing more relaxing, and i'm rarely stressed out enough or bored enough to need to do one...

I scored more than 3k and I only had 5 rocket towers :P Well I hate you now... I hope your happy... then you're gonna hate me lol, i got to 3k with 4 rocket towers. I just managed to scrape enough together for the 5th after killing a few of the 20k monsters, but before it could help much, i was dead.

what did you do from waves 14 onwards? and is one fully upgraded air tower really good enough to do a wave on its own? edit - hmm, a fully upgraded air unit CAN easily cope with the first air wave, all on its own... edit edit - cool, i got 3180 that time...thanks for the indirect help lol

dang it azn, you stole what i was gonna say :P people who claims sports are simply ' a bunch of X doing Y over and over until Z happens' are just hyprocrites. Sure some sports are more repetitive than others, but theyre all, at base level, repeating things to achieve something. Football is a game of finesse. You can very very rarely simply force your way to a win over another team. You must outclass them, in speed, skill, stamina. In things like American Football and baseball, the team with the strongest average player will 9 time out of 10 win, simply because with those sports one can force themselves to a Homerun or Touchdown or w/e.
