My first and only phone I got about a month ago, and it was only because we were getting some family plan and the phone came with it. Its pretty basic, I can text message but I think it costs a lot, and I barely ever bring it with me. Kids shouldn't have phones unless they actually need them

I'm just like you. I remember being really young when 007: Goldeneye came out for N64 and I would play that all the time with my dad and his friends. I played with toy guns and watched really violent movies too (my parents weren't the kind that said no just because the film was rated R). And I was looking up porn when I was pretty young too. For the most part I feel I turned out pretty normal. As far as mature content doing things to children, I don't think it does. As long as the parents are smart enough to explain what's going on, what shouldn't be done, etc. things would be fine. When I hear stories about games or movies influencing kids to kill people, smoke, drink, do drugs, etc. I feel like they're just trying to cover up the lack of information the kids were given, underlying problems, mental instability of the kids, or even just straight up bad parenting. Yeah, my dad explained drugs to me in a way I could understand. He took a peanut (with the shell) and held it up saying "this is your brain." I got a little mad that he said I had a peanut brain, but that wasn't the point. He crushed it between his fingers into little flakes and crumbs, and said "this is your brain on drugs." Now that is the proper way to parent :thumbsup: (I realize not all drugs will demolish your brain and such but it was a good demonstration)

No, I think you hit the nail on the head :thumbsup: You also have enlightened me a little on the matter. Tipit forums can be a little mature, but this has to be in moderation, because if we always popped out pg-13 threads, that would just become a standard and even worse threads would arise. So the idea is, just try to keep it as clean as possible, and we will get some leeway in the matter of what is censored.

How many times does this need to be said? [hide=][/hide] This is quite interesting, because tif is suitable for all ages, yet if you are not 13 years of age you aren't allowed to register. This is what I suggest: either allow all ages to go on the forum, (ha) or take away that false G-rated title we have, even if it is just a title for parents to know that we are suitable. I didn't see anything about kids under age 13 going on with adult supervision

If only it were that simple. Again, my last sentence. It's about the environment. When mature content was allowed, the whole board degraded. It brought in people that were only attracted to OT in the first place because of one or two threads. So it's not an issue of ignoring one or two threads. It's about having the board being G-rated, yet mature. Don't you think we owe it to parents who think their children are on a G-rated forum? 13+ How many times does this need to be said? 13+ times :wall: I seriously think the G-rated thing is a load of crap. That being said, we really should keep the amount of mature content on here to a minimum. This forum is borderline PG-PG13 without the 2 scourges that we called threads

Man, my 2 favorite threads gone now. I only have one objection: This has NEVER been a G rated forum. Lets see: breastfeeding, I want a girlfriend advice, racism, homosexuality, what happens when you expose a kid to sex and violence, first kiss, 4chan, zombie breakout weapon choices and escape plans, Scientology, marijuana and other drugs, intense religious, moral, and social beliefs debates.
