Fork Handle
This entire thread is confusing me. It's a fantastic reference to The Two Ronnies, it's nearly as famous as the "Dead Parrot Sketch". I'm very happy they put it in. If you think there's anything more to this, you should remember that there is such thing as too much cynicism and enjoy the good things in life a bit more.

Blisterwood polearm vs Ivandis flail
I've hit around 980 once with a maxed polearm, void, and piety (not even turmoil!). It deals an incredible amount of damage, hence why it is so good for training.

GIve us Elysian back?
But for what reason do they not return? Not that i can't imagine it, but what has Jagex said is their reason for not returning? I apologise that I'd left without realising you'd asked me a question, but I'll have a try at answering it now. From the best of my knowledge, their reasoning has gone like this: If Jagex were to deliberately hand an Elysian Spirit Shield to you, and word got out, then that sets a precedent. They'd have to give everyone who had monster drops erased from their accounts, which would not be possible because the rollback by its nature erases that data. You might say, "Ah, but what about just drops on the Adventurer's Log?" It might be written there that you received the drop, but how does Jagex know what happened to that Elysian between the drop and the rollback? They have no way of knowing if you gave it to a friend, or traded part of its value in gp to someone else as a way of splitting the drops, something which I've done myself. There are possibilities here that, if left unchecked, would allow someone to walk away with hundreds of millions more coins (even more, if we're talking about staking) than they would have received had the rollback never happened. There would also be the flood of false claims and tactics by other players to get money they didn't deserve after the precedent has been set. In the end, without the control or complete confidence in the facts of the situation, Jagex has always steered well clear of it. Again, my sympathies, but a little bit of justice in the short term for a single player would result in many gross injustices for many more players later on. If you have any further questions, please feel free to PM me.

Clean organized bank
Some tips, more to do with bank cleaning than organising, but hey: 1. If you've got talismans or tiaras knocking about, try throwing them inside a [item=11767] and throwing away/selling any duplicates. Alternatively, if you can get in the Runecrafting Guild, you can get an [item=7926] or a fancy [item=7933], but bear in mind you can't get onto Entrana and the Law Alter with the latter. 2. If it's a key, doesn't go on the Steel Keyring, and isn't part of an incomplete quest, throw it out. Lots of quests leave you with useless keys which can clutter your bank, and there's a good reason why those keys won't go on the keyring. 3. Costume room! Throw everything you can and don't see an immediate use for into a costume room. The worst offenders are Lunar armour, Zamorak robes, Elite Black armour, Dagon'hai robes (which is actually a set of mystic robes with a prayer bonus), Hunter clothing and holiday items. Lots of capes go on the cape rack, too. 4. Even if you haven't got a costume room, drop your holiday items. You can still easily reobtain them from Diango of Draynor Village. If you do have a costume room, you can also obtain them from the toy box. 5. If you can fit a tool on your toolbelt, you won't need it in your bank. After you equip one, drop or sell any spares. 6. Menagerie! If you've got more than three pets, consider investing in one. Eek and Mackers, who are both holiday items and pets, can be stored either in a menagerie or the Costume Room toy box, so if you're running out of space there you can move those two over. 7. With the exception of the [item=6771] and the [item=4531] (unless you've finished Rocking Out), you don't need to keep unwieldable books in your bank. Put them on a bookshelf in your POH, and drop them if they don't have a slot there and aren't from an incomplete quest.

GIve us Elysian back?
As far as I know, Jagex has never returned an item lost for any reason. With that said, how did you lose it in the first place? rolled back just a minute to early. That's... horrible. My condolences, but it can't be returned, it's never been done because it would set a precedent that Jagex could never keep to.

Stuff you could NEVER get into
I could widen the net a bit and say that if it's necessary to mention screaming in the name of the genre, then it's going to be done frequently enough to kill any of the emotional or artistic merit of the sound. It's like if you repeated the any word over and over, it loses its meaning. Maleficus summed it up, but really? Screaming means there's no emotion or artistic merit? If you want to discard entire genres of music based on one thing, then I assume it's fair to say all music where they sing is bad too? Just because it's not the norm and you don't enjoy it doesn't mean you can call it all bad. This entire song is screamed. If you're going to say there's no artistic merit in this, fine, art is subjective so you could really say whatever you want about that. But this song conveys all sorts of emotion, and does a very good job at it. Firstly, no, it isn't fair to say that music where they sing is bad too. Singing is a much broader term that covers so many ranges and styles, it has the variety and flexibility which screaming lacks to bring out what's good about music. Hell, screaming has its place, if a song wants to be angry and shout at the world, that can and does sometimes work, but not if it's done throughout the entire song. Secondly, sorry, but I thought that song was bad, the vocals had no emotional range or real meaning, and it would be much better with the vocals cut out. It's just my opinion, and you're perfectly free to have your own.

Are you going to CONTINUE renewing membership?
Same for me. I've come to the point that I'm actively considering my future with this game as opposed to renewing it without a thought, but I'm not actually cancelling yet. And I certainly won't buy any spins as a matter of moral principle.

Squeal of Fortune + Buyable Spins
I never expected them to REMOVE the squeal of fortune, just nerf the experience lamps to the level of genie lamps or remove the RWT-aspect of it. Anything is better than keeping it the way it is now. This was earlier today as well. Spookie Pie was only forum banned and has since been unbanned as I saw him post later on a different thread. I agree, there's quite a few ways to go about adjusting it to make it acceptable to the philosophy of the game's design without removing it, but I don't see any indications that Jagex will consider any of them. To make it clear, the wheel should either not involve real money, or it shouldn't give an in-game advantage. The former can be stopped by stopping the sale of tickets for cash, and the latter can be stopped by changing the prizes to be only the following: 1. untradable or worth uncompetitive amounts of gp, 2. Worth uncompetitive amounts of xp and/or 3. Has uncompetitive stats. By uncompetitive, I mean you should be able to achieve faster xp rates, better equipment stats or greater profits by playing the game normally. I wouldn't mind it if the SoF was full of character customisations and fun stuff like what's in the Loyalty shop. In fact, what they should have done in the first place was make the SoF and the Loyalty Program the same thing!

Oh wow, definitely this for me. Every screamo song I've heard has had absolutely no emotional or artistic merit. They makes these noises so often that they don't know what to convey with them any more.

Squeal of Fortune + Buyable Spins
If Jagex won't remove buying tickets for real money, they should remove all of the non-trivial coin drops (50gp is fine), all of the non-trivial item drops, the xp lamps, and the lucky drops. Replace them with Loyalty points and lots of decorative items and customisations for your character. I'd be okay with that.

Squeal of Fortune + Buyable Spins
[/hide] Going into these two posts, according to Dutch law online gambling is illegal. Gambling for minors is also illegal. The law refers to gambling as games of chance, contests, etc. Basically any kind of chance game, so wheels of fortune would fit that description too. Jagex does not have a licence for this (I seriously doubt my government allowing that), and most of the game's players are minors. Another thing I'm wondering...which country's laws apply? British ones because Jagex is a british company? The laws of the country the servers is in(This is what I'd personally guess)? Or the country the player is in? If it was the last, then lol it would sure as be illegal in some countries. With the other two options it's not quite as clear...would have to know the laws to be able to judge that... I am no expert on law, but as far as I know there is a very big grey area as far as foreign internet sites/games are concerned. Either way, if it is illegal in the UK it shouldn't be too hard to stop Jagex in court... Costs are another story though. Online gambling is legal in the UK, but Google tells me you need to purchase a license to develop the software, and presumably it's subject to certain taxes. I'm not much of a lawyer though, I don't know anything past that.

Not that I have the final say in the matter, but I wouldn't object to a special edition outside the usual publication on the subject.

Squeal of Fortune + Buyable Spins
Except in deal or no deal, you actually have an offer [say, 50k] already on the table. This, you start with nothing. This, you start with the real world money you paid into buying the tickets. You are purchasing spins. You aren't spending money w/the POSSIBILITY of winning spins. It's a transaction. You pay, they provide with goods. Gambling, on the other hand, says that you pay and you MIGHT get the spins (and I'm not talking about the bonus spins, I'm talking a spin at all) but might not - and lets face it, with gambling, more often that not, it's the latter option. MICROTRANSACTION? Sure Gambling? Very, very, very sketchy at best trying to form an argument to support it. [/hide] Okay, let's just clear the fog a bit and lay out the exact situation that we're talking about. 1. Your free, twice/once a day free spin: a. You log in -> b. You get your free allowance no matter what you have -> c. You spin -> d. You win the prizes. This I have no problem with. There is nothing of value required to start this game, and indeed, every spin would be a win. From a. to d., the only path is an increase in value of what you own. Since there is only one direction, this is not gambling. 2. Paying for tickets for free spins: e. You log in with money on your credit card -> f. You pay for the tickets. -> g. You spin -> h. You win a prize greater in value than the money you used to pay for the ticket. (e.g. 10M gp) or e. You log in with money on your credit card -> f. You pay for the tickets. -> g. You spin -> i. You win a prize lesser in value than the money you used to pay for the ticket. (e.g. 50gp) Path e. to h. is a win, whereas path e. to i. is a loss, which represent an increase in the value of things you own and a decrease in value of the things you own respectively. Since there are two possible directions, this is gambling. You're trying to confuse the matter by just talking about path e. to g., which is just a transaction and isn't where the gambling is. And that, requires you to set a price on gold. And without one set by Jagex, who would be the only ones who could sell gold, there is no win at all. And without the element of uncertainty, it's not a gamble at all. You WILL lose. RWTing sites can sell gold, and they do. They even have a fairly consistent agreement on the real-world value of a gold piece. Yes, to actually make the exchange breaks the rules and is completely against the spirit of the game, but that equivalence in value exists.

Oh for pete's sake. That's not right at all. It's like saying Deal or No Deal isn't gambling because the least you could get would be the penny in the box. A loss is a relative term, wherein you end up with a reduced value in the things you own than you did before you played the game. 50gp is a loss, a Lucky Divine Spirit Shield is a win. This is not a negotiable statement. I've never seriously considered my future with this game, but now I am. EDIT: Fixed topic title.
