Philosophy, Riddles and complete mind[bleep]s
But see if you told me that you refused to eat, I will tell you that your body will die. Not you, just your body and mind. I feel that there is this sense of nothingness beyond the body and mind. This nothingness, empty space, it can not be harmed because it is only aware of the human mind, it does not label it. We all have this nothingness, the whole universe is composed of it, one can even argue that the universe came from it. Atoms themselves are mostly empty space. I believe that if we could look beyond fundamental particles, we will see that the most fundamental is nothingness, something like the quantum universe. This empty space is who we truly are, all the mind and body is is emptiness in a form. This form forms ideas and values that have no substance in them. Take away the observer, the mind, and there is nothing there. How can anything then have any true value? We don't die, I don't, and you don't die. Only our minds and bodies do, the nothingness just takes another form.

We do that because some things are more desirable than others, whether by usefulness, comfort, or luxury (A gun vs. A sharpened stick, happiness vs. sadness, well-maintained sportscar vs. beat up SUV, and so on) Now all that criteria for usefulness and what someone desires is devised by the person's mind. Take the mind out of the equation. What criteria is there now?

What if we did not put any value on things? ( Objects, emotions, etc.)

Humans - The Glass Cannons?
I don't think wanting to have more has to be linked with a passion for life. You can simply want nothing at all and still have a passion for life.

Humans - The Glass Cannons?
We are not doing good or bad. We are just doing, and our minds can perceive that in whichever way it wants to. If you and I see a tree and you call it beautiful and I call it ugly then what is the tree? It is neither beautiful or ugly, the tree itself is just a tree no matter what the label. I can label the tree a pig, it doesn't matter. It is what it is and nothing more or less. And yes this thirst for something that ultimately is false may lead to humans to become extinct, or it might not. But I can not say if this is a good or a bad thing. Maybe nature has extinction instead of existence in store for humans. So be it. What do you mean by the bolded statement? What's ultimately false? Also, I might add, eventually all things must come to an end; it's just a matter of how long we can last. I mean the thirst for success. Success is only a thought in the mind. We are all fine where we are right now, yet some want more. More for what? And I agree with your second point.

By that logic, breathing air is greed, because you don't need to breathe air to live. Your life would be a lot shorter if you didn't, though. We don't need to live, but we still do. There is no logic behind it, it just is. Greed only arises from human thought. Which is nothing but just thought. Are you kidding me? The logic is that we can accomplish more (in evolution's eyes, probably reproducing more) by breathing and living longer. Greed arises from human thought, so therefor it's not concrete? Greed is a concrete thing. It can be easily defined, observed, and isolated. (Also, thought is a mechanism to process, analyze, and plan for the future, so I'm sure thought is worth something.) Accomplish more? For what? Just because something is concrete it doesn't make it true. Human thought is nothing but thought. Thought is not concrete. So something arising from thought is just as good as thought, which is really just nothing.

Yes. So human nature must change first, and then maybe we will have a corrupt free "government" or whatever we will decide to have.

What if the monopoly does not raise its prices and provides quality goods?

Simple Facts
So he is telling people that he will stop terrorists from entering planes? Ok.

Success is just an idea, it is not needed. What greed does is create the need for success, but really there is no need.

I think that when you look at humans 20,000 years ago you will see that they were in stateless societies. But naturally, when technology allowed them to do so, humans made allies and began to live in larger groups for efficiency, and civilizations and organized governments began to form. If we were in a stateless society right now then the same process would occur again. People are greedy, if you can't change that then a stateless society will not last.

Humans - The Glass Cannons?
I agree. But I also realized that as a human species we are just part of the universe. If we go extinct in 50 years then its ok. Everything comes and goes, even humanity. What happens to us is just another part of the beauty of existence.

Philosophy, Riddles and complete mind[bleep]s
yes. But intelligence is just an illusion really.

Philosophy, Riddles and complete mind[bleep]s
I like your idea about a stateless society, but I still think that if humans don't change how they think at their core then no matter what political system we have there will be much suffering and violence in the world like there is now.

What do you mean by deep thought? Intellectual advancement. Cultural movements. It's really open for interpretation, as many movements may have been negative, but it's often from times of turmoil that we see the most important ideas and people emerge. I'll disprove when I get home, if nobody else has. War is a necessity to solve issues that cannot be solved diplomatically. What is the cause of war? Either to steal someone's land - so 1.) money, 2.) power are some causes with wanting land Or To force an ideology on them - so 3.) religion 4.) government or Retribution for an attack - 5.) honor 6.) retribution Generally with 1 or 2 there is an aggressor country and a victim country. With 3 and 4 these produce very violent wars as both sides desperately want to force their ideology on the other. And with 5 or 6 either the aggressive country acted with error or was attacking to provoke a war usually for reasons 1 or 2. With 1 and 2 - diplomacy is impossible if the aggressive country wants to attack. With 3 and 4 - diplomacy is also impossible and these tend to be very violent wars. With 5 and 6 - diplomacy is possible but only if the victim country is willing to accept it. But this sums up all the reasons why we have wars on the top of my head And none of that is really necessary, just the way that many humans think make things like money, power and forcing ideologies seem necessary. In reality they are not, not everyone seems to want to see that though. Oh well.

I'll disprove when I get home, if nobody else has. War is a necessity to solve issues that cannot be solved diplomatically. Times of crisis make more people aware of problems, therefore change often arises from those times. Is change necessary? I don't know, but its going to happen anyway, everything changes. War never solves anything in the long run, it just brings about more fear and hate which later leads to even more violence. Of course war is going to seem like a necessity then.

What do you mean by deep thought? And war is not necessary by any means, but of course it occurs all the time because people are fearful. Overcome fear, and you overcome war and violence.

More USA documents get released by Wikileaks
I'm not usually one for open mockery, but this is just too easy. Yep, because hundreds of construction experts, demolition experts, and scientists from around the world, who make buildings collapse for a living, must all be wackos. [citation needed] http://www.911truth.org/ Just google it and spend 5 minutes reading some articles. Or failing that, explain how a building that supposedly pancake collapsed, i.e. one floor falling on top of another, can fall at free fall speed? Barring god willed it its physically imposible because the floors falling on top of one another would have slowed it down. you are trolling, right? If I remember right a pair of 757's hit those buildings. Last time I checked being hit by a large airplane was rather damaging. Yes it is. Exccept that the twin towers were actually designed to withstand the impact of a boeing 707, an airplane that is almost the same size and mass as the 767. http://www.science-writing.org/id29.html Now lets just use this one document as evidence that fire actually did bring the towers down. In order for that to happen then the entire floor would have had to be heated at the same time and at a consistent temperature. Otherwise parts of the floor would have failed before the others and would have caused the floor to fall down at an angle. And, well, leaning tower of pizza. And, any explanation for building 7? Building 7? http://www.debunking911.com/pull.htm

Should American football be renamed handegg?
Completely false. I guarantee that even those chubby defensive linemen have more muscle than you. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if their body fat percentage was lower than yours. Regardless, most guys are under 300 lbs., so they're hardly fat. It might interest you to know that Trent Cole, one of those supposedly unathletic defensive linemen for the Philadelphia Eagles, ran a 4.7 40 yard dash. Must only be in highschool football then. Yes, most of the DL and OL in our school are stronger than I, but they can't run for [cabbage].

See you don't even need to be athletic to play football. Just be big and fat and your good.
