Meh, I like the torso. Useful in a lot of places where defence is hardly an issue. With a good team it's not that hard to get. With a bad team you will want to murder infants.

Most of my melee stats just came over time, from slayer, monster hunting, and from randomly going to different spots to train. Although now that all of my combat stats are 99 the experience seems to come so much quicker... and I don't even train for the sake of training :|

I just flail my fingers while strumming fast and using star power. Apparently ir's 24NPS which I believe is one of the quickest sections. Only a few people have managed to FC that section (Don't think anyone has FCed the song yet) Well I can pass the section - probably without star power too. And I can FC the section in practice on slower/slowest, but I physically cannot press a button that fast.

Range defense. I was stubborn and went on to try my method this weekend and it didn't work. I tried 3 times :( Did another 3 solo runs with full Bandos and Verac helm for range def - much more successful runs. In conclusion Range defense > Mage defense. Also was wondering, what's a good under lvl 70 familiar to use? My bunyip and graak were horribly pointless there and the idea of dragging 18 items for a turtle is kind of a pain. I might try thr turtle next time if noone has any better ideas. It is hardly a pain at all to use a beast of burden, and there is no familiar (other than the yak) that will come anywhere close to being as useful. The tortoise almost guarantees an extra kill per trip; use it.

Hmm... for people with the new pack, are you guys able to tap solo A in Surfing With The Alien? I can do it when I slow it down to slower/slowest, but I just can't hit the orange button fast enough at full speed.

I really hope not, since I haven't done any of those vampyre quests. The morning's end storyline is probably the only quest that I've actually really wanted to come out haha.

I found wallasalkis better summoning experience than waterfiends. So I would recommend them, since cannon doesn't depend on your range level. Range them with a msb or something along with the cannon.

Then definitely kill them. They're faster than waterfiends for charms, and over 100k range exp/hour. I timed an hour and got: 38 blue charms ~30 crimson ~60 gold charms ~20 green charms. I used cannon + msb with rune arrows, in the 4th room with wallasalkis (not counting the one before barricades) that had 5 wallasalkis in multicombat. It's the last room of those 3 wallasalki rooms in a row.

Definitely not true for me. I hate do-it-yourself type activities, and would much rather have fun with steel titans, godswords, maxed combat stats, and being able to buy my way to levels the fast way.
