msn= nine msn corporation = Microsoft IE = Microsoft therefore IE = MSN so they make most things open in IE but now now links that arnt like myspace etc open in Firefox so yes links in msn messages will open in firefox if thats ure default browser etc. But my space cause they host it they open it in IE.

Yes, that's one of the main uses for external drives And yes, not through direct connection to your drive but through your computer. As for what drive to get, my suggestion would be to get a normal IDE drive of 200GB size and an enclosure which effectively turns it into an external drive. These enclosures can be found at most computing shops and it shouldn't be hard for a layperson to assemble either. All of that together should be a fair bit cheaper than getting an external drive. thats if he was looking for an ide drive, but if u are looking for an external drive which can be taken around with you and 2 other computers here are a few i found

oww those specs arn't to high. Its really your call if ure gonna use the laptop more then pen and papper which can be hard sometimes for drawing or writing and similar things quickly but if u can manage it by any means go for it. Just to note though laptops usually cost more then pcs, and are not as good as ure paying for portablilty, laptops are harder/more expensive to upgrade usually if u are, as its harder to do your self. Personally i think it comes down to are u gonna really use the laptop that much or is it more of a cool idea cause it sound good now but are u really gonna want 2 use it everyday and it may slow u down writing notes, diagrams and such. Dont go for 2 crap computers try opting for a laptop or a Pc as this way its cheaper/ easier 2 fix/ less problems/ better quality invested in one computer.

im assuming its winter where u are? if ure house is 21*C and its going up to 40*C it may very well be a heat problem with my computer only at 40*C because it is very hot in sydney in summer but i have fans (in the computer) to fix that. if u think its heat sink u may want 2 have a friend that knows a little bit about computers put it on and try installing another fan. How many fans do u have running? If ure inside the computer make sure u dont have static as this can damage components when ure touching them. try installing some applications 2 monitor your computers temp. and see if it restarts at a certain temp. Also post a HJT log for ppl 2 look at on this forum to look at just 2 make sure your computer is clean.

laptops in my opinion arnt really value for money unless u really need 2 work on the go. Pcs are becoming alot more portable but if u need it 4 lectures and such obviously u cant be using a pc. 1,300 isnt much for a laptop which quickly becomes outdated and is harder 2 upgrade. If ure computer just needs 2 be in ure room and such and when u take it round its 2 other ppls places and such u can use a Pc as they are alot more portable now and better for gaming, if u will be doing decent gaming laptops are rubish for this and will cost u an arm and a leg 2 get a new gaming laptop that will be a pain 2 upgrade. whats the specs for the games thou.?

underclock ure proccesor?? have u overclocked it or is it just normal and ure trying 2 go under now? cause when i tried 2 overclock my computer at all, no sound would work and simliar problems.

*is it shuting down or restarting cause if its overheating it should be shutting down. You said that it is 110* on startup and then 105* when running. Do u have the computer in a hot area? It may not be temperature related if there have been no changes 2 the computer/ environment but u thought it might be and 40*C is medium warm I have Gigabyte Easy Tune 4 but get a similar program that works with your computer 2 check if its specified to do something at a certain temp. As most are and this may have been changed by a wierd program.

this probably has nothing 2 do with it but go run > shutdown -i and see if anything is there for a shutdown programed but im pritty sure its not due 2 this. Have u installed/downloaded anything when this started happening or any viruses detected not long ago?

look for any proccesors or programs in taskmanager that are using alot of memory and close them if u dont need 2 run them, since its an older computer ( 1.8GHz and 256ram) it might be stressing since windows xp takes alot more then 98 to run normally so try making it easier close things like limewire,itunes, downloading programs or whatever thats not essentialfor your computer 2 run.
