It's hot. Yesterday was hotter, but still. We had a heat index of like 116 degrees Fahrenheit yesterday. That's 45 Celsius for those people whose countries are smart enough to use metric. I don't have air conditioning, so it's been quite a challenge to even sleep, because the temperature is barely dropping off at night. During the day I hide in an air conditioned building on campus all day and watch movies on netflix.

Isn't it illegal to have any open containers in the vehicle, regardless of age? Yes. I believe it's illegal to have an open container of alcohol in a vehicle, period, whether you're driving or not. No, you won't lose your license forever, though it is likely to get suspended for quite some time. Multiple repeat offenders will lose their licenses forever, however.
  3. I disagree. To me, someone (male or female) can be attractive but not hot. There are males that I find attractive, and there are males that I find hot. I am confident enough in my (hetero)sexuality that even if someone like you would question it because I use those terms, I don't care.

Well, it depends. It is POSSIBLE for Vector employment to not be a scam, but only if you know a lot of people who want to buy really expensive knives, and are alright with annoying people you know with endless calls from the company asking if they want to work for them and sell knives too. (One of the first things Vector asks you to do is list so many people you know who might be interested in a job too. They then proceed to call said people and bother them about a job selling knives. My friend STILL gets calls after being on that list from 3 years ago, despite constantly telling them no.) Overall rating of Vector: Very, very, very bad. Possible to make money, but highly unlikely. In fact, people often LOSE money because Vector makes them pay for a "demo" set of knifes so that they can show people how awesome the knifes are (upwards of $125 investment already) and they often require you to go to "training seminars" which they make you pay for. Bottom line is, you have to pay to work there, and no legitimate business should do that. It's basically a scam.

If you're a full-time student you don't pay by credit hour, you pay by semester. This means you pay the same price if you take 12 credits or 18. I think taking the classes are a good idea, perhaps even taking the test. But he's asking if he should retake these tests, and I think it's a waste of time and money. I don't know anyone who came in with AP credit and took less than four years to graduate. It's advantageous if you want to take fewer credits per semester in the beginning, but that's really the only advantage. If you really wanted and your high school offered enough courses, it's conceivable that you could graduate in three years instead of four, but I don't know anyone personally who took this route. Most people who could have done that if they wanted didn't: they wanted to enjoy their college experience. Also, as an engineer, I needed 136 credits rather than the traditional 120. Due to that structure, it wasn't possible to graduate in three years due to prerequisites. I did have the option to graduate a year early thanks to my AP courses, but as you said, I chose not to to stay in college another year for the experience. But, I do think AP is worth it because instead of taking intro classes, I've gotten to take more classes that I actually want to take.
  6. Well, generally speaking, asexual could mean two different things. One, a person who is asexual feels no attraction, romantic or sexual, to either gender. This person is just plain asexual. Two, a person who is asexual may be able to be romantically attracted to one (or both) genders, but have no desire for sex with either genders. They would fall into one of three "categories" (using the term generally, due to labels being dumb): Heteroromantic asexual, Homoromantic asexual, or biromantic asexual. From his distinctions, I would call him either a pure asexual or a heteroromantic asexual. Though all bets are off if he decides that he identifies as heterosexual or some other way.
  7. Ya I've noticed increased squid spawns lately. They're everywhere! My girlfriend built an underwater cavern with a sugarcane wall to the outside underwater, and squid keep getting stuck in the sugarcane. It's really funny.

Edit: Double post, no idea how that happened...

I took nine AP tests and got a 4 or 5 on all of them. Many of these subjects I bought the Princeton review study guides and just did the practice multiple choice exams. Extremely helpful. It's been a few years since I've taken them. I made up so much stuff on many of the exams. I had a little fun a few times. Once, I had really no idea how to do a physics problem, so I winged it. It was fun because I for once got to use the formula E=MC2, which I hadn't done before nor since then. Funny thing was, I think I was actually at least on the right track. o_O AP exams that I took: US History-4 Calculus BC-5 Government-5 Psychology-5 Statistics-4 English Lit-4 English Lang-4 Physics-4 Chemistry-4
  10. I look at people's lips. It gives a nice illusion of "looking in the eye", helps to hear what people are saying, and I don't get antsy the way I do when I look into people's eyes. People say eyes are the windows to your soul. I believe that's true for me in a way. I get really freaked out by looking certain people in the eye, and can almost tell something about them from it. Also, the only ones I can look in the eye without wanting to look away are my closest friends.
  11. Secrets for me would me something that I can't know, or would not be available to me should I ask. Do I know absolutely everything about my girlfriend? No. Do I believe everything would be available to me should I want to know? Yes. I think that's the key for me.
  12. My fiancée and I say that we are each other's best friend. It's true. She is my best friend. I think this is how the world should be.
  13. You don't think that qualifies as paranoia? I myself have recently become obsessed with hand washing. I've been washing my hands several times an hour. It's really frustrating because I can't focus on anything for too long. I'll just get an urge to go wash my hands. Does that make me paranoid of being sick? Isn't that one of the most common OCD attacks? Yes, it is one of the most common OCD behaviors and the bit about not being able to focus on anything for too long worries me. You should seriously consider seeing a psychologist about that before it gets any worse. ... Paranoia is defined by an unreasonable amount of expectation or fear that something will happen. Just because he plans for something to happen doesn't make him paranoid. Paranoid would be expecting it to happen all the time, constantly doing something active to prevent it from happening or to react to it happening.
  14. I read Twilight just because everyone was talking about it. Yeah, they're okay. Looking back, the love story is pretty weak, and has been done a million times. Of course, most book/movie love storylines don't have the substance that makes a real relationship last, but, you know. Thinking about it, *spoiler alert* Bella was crazy to go for Edward when she very obviously had a more concrete relationship base with Jacob. Guess Edward was too hot("Oh, I sparkle in the sunlight") and too much of a creeper ("I'm watching you while you sleep") for Jacob to compete. Regret: I just gave a mini-analysis of romantic relationships in Twilight, completely seriously.
  15. My girlfriend and I are in a relationship because we genuinely enjoy spending a ton of time together, moreso with each other than with other people. As I said to her the other day, it's nice being introverts (the where-you-draw-your-energy-from type, not the anti-social type.) together.
  16. My biggest problem with conservative ideology is it's defense of large corporations. They think tax breaks to corporations will promote job growth. I don't understand this idea, when trends show that the tax breaks that companies get often go directly to bonuses to execs. As such, I support ending tax breaks to corporations and closing loopholes. They say tax breaks are for "small businesses", but I'd like a definition of this term as the only type of business I've heard of benefiting from a the tax breaks that are talked about are multi-million dollar "small businesses."

I'm sort of surprised Myspace still exists. I read an article the other day about how Justin Timberlake just bought a large share of it and is gonna try and revitalize it.
  19. If I were really hungry, I might be able to pull 20 Taco John's tacos. But I like the way you think.
  20. As long as it's not Michelle Bachman, I'm fairly neutral about Republican candidates. I had to sit through her Minnesota campaign, and I was not at all pleased. Personally, I used to be pretty much dead center moderate, but after attending a liberal liberal arts school for three years, I'd say I lean a lot more democratic than republican. I do think the tea party is crazy though. Well, crazy is a little insensitive, I just don't really see their reasoning. And since tea party politics seems to dominate Republican thinking at the moment, I can hardly stand to listen to Republican banter without being either dumbfounded or angry.
  21. My perfect version of myself would've kept up with gymnastics, and I would be quite proficient by now. As it is, I quit gymnastics when I was 5 after 2 weeks because I was the only boy in the class. After that, I got too involved trying other sports to ever go back. It still is my dream to someday be able to put together a nice string of front handsprings. 20/15 vision like my dad would be nice, too.
  22. As already mentioned, RS did it for a long time. I like the GE, but I dealt without it. I don't think I could do it now that RS is so huge. I know world 2 was crowded, but now every world can be crowded around cities, even with the GE.

It varies widely by sect of Buddhism. Most people consider it to be a religion in the sense that it is a way of life, to be practiced consciously. A religion need not involve worship of a higher being (though many sects of Buddhism do elevate the Buddha to worshipable level.).

Why should I have said that first? I made a very specific point, and someone else broadening it just serves to further my point. The vast majority of cultures in the world are patriarchal, and apparently also have women shave their underarm hair. Which, after some research, I have discovered is actually a fairly recent trend. Shaving underarm hair only became popular in western society beginning in 1915, when sleeveless dresses became popular and magazines started running ads which showed shaved underarms. Want sources? Do a google search for underarm shaving, it's a pretty common result. So, while my second statement about including ancient and modern history cannot be applied to shaving one's pits, I still hold that cultures promote beauty standards for women as ways to oppress them. Which, I suppose, is a completely relevant topic for debate, just not in this topic.

It's not just western society dude. Even ancient history depict women having no hair beneath the neck to exhibit more feminine look. Nearly every woman in the world shaves their pits for the same reason. The only women not shaving are either rebels or just simply crazy. By Western society, I meant to include our history (ancient or otherwise). I don't address outside of western society because I have no knowledge of it, and do not claim to, lest my ignorance show.
