  1. Jacmob also says in one of those interviews that he has too much stuff going on irl to go to England and work for Jagex. Jagex has no programming employees outside of Cambridge, as far as I am aware, so I doubt Jacmob has a job with Jagex. Possible, not likely, and unconfirmed anywhere.
  2. EDIT: Icwutyoudidthere =D> Sarcasm + internet= misunderstanding. EDIT: You ninja editer, you. :P On topic: Huh. Weird. For me, Runescape will always be synonymous with Andrew Gower.
  3. In case anyone was wondering, he has completed the challenge. I don't know if it was mentioned, but he had a handicap of having to go in with just an inventory and a yak of cabbages. He could use all his best equipment. He reached the floor cap of 255. Call me impressed. A sped up video of the challenge is posted to his youtube page.
  4. What I find interesting about the best dngers is that I don't think Jagex intended for dungeons to be rushed for exp. I think they wanted people to take time to skill, use the resources in the dungeon, and do whatever they can to make the boss battle easier. Rushing through a dungeon paying no attention to anything but doors and keys just doesn't seem like what Jagex wanted for the skill. Of course, what they wanted and what players do are rarely the same, and what they wanted I'm sure matters less to the players, but I find dungeon rushes interesting in that way. Woox's boss fights may also not fit Jagex's definition of what they wanted, so my point may be invalid. But still. It makes me sad that rushes are the primary way that people dungeoneer, even though there is so much to a dungeon that just gets ignored. :(
  5. Sounds like people aren't reading up on their old foes before going in unprepared.
  6. They had quite a few words: "Higher-level players who own god books can return after the quest for a new activity requiring level 60 in Prayer and Crafting." :P :twss:
  7. Looks like the robots will be back shortly (3 days). We all knew this was coming, but this soon? Why the heck would you have a countdown for a coding project? I doubt the countdown means anything, really. It doesn't make sense to me. Anyway, I think the (Jagex) update this week will push back the bots even more. Besides, the last countdown a bot site put up, was to inform its users that they were suing Jagex.
  8. Unless they're planning on adding it later, the golden scythe doesn't show up in the toy box. I know it did before, but its not there now. I checked when I put my sock mask in.
  9. I agree. Anyone who doesn't like the grind can choose another game because its clear RS is the wrong game for them. Personally, I find the 'grind' fun. I choose the methods that suit me, even if they're longer, to do what I want to do. I, too, agree. I've played RS for 10 years now and have no 99s, but I enjoy the game. I don't ever "grind" anything more than a few levels for a quest, I just do what I feel like. And if I do grind, it's because I'm enjoying what I'm currently doing. Yes, I do have my favorite and least favorite skills to train, but I have a wide variety of methods that I train them to keep things interesting. I am by no means "efficient" but do I have to be to enjoy the game? No, says I.
  10. Yeah, while reading those threads, I wondered to myself, "If they hate Jagex and the grind that is Runescape, why do they play?" It sort of baffles me.
  11. Well, they've already made it much farther than they usually do.
  12. http://www.runescape.com/kbase/guid/Downloads_and_Wallpapers EDIT: Beat me too it.
  13. As far as banning goes, I've gone up ~1000ish ranks in attack, strength, defense, construction, and a couple other skills in less than 12 hours of not logging in. It seems now that the update is out, they are slowly banning people.
  14. If you haven't done them for this past week (which started Wednesday), do them before Wednesday, again on Wednesday, then again on Thursday. Essentially, there are two resets for penguins this coming week. One on the normal day, Wednesday, and another the next day, Thursday.
  15. What are reflection and injection bots? As far as I understand it, there are two main ways that the current generation of bots work (previous generation were those that used colors to pick flax, etc.). Reflection, the main one and the easier to implement one, uses a feature of the JAVA programming language that allows a Java application to look into its own code and know what it is doing. When bots tap this, they have access to all of RS's code and can use that to bot. Injection some how pushes outside code into the application, thereby modifying how the application is running at a local level (i.e., injection can't change stats because that would involve Jagex's servers). Anyone who knows more about this should correct me and/or elaborate further, this is all stuff I've learned in the last ~1.5 hours. EDIT: Also, if this is as effective as they say it is, and innovative as it would have to be, the team that worked on this should be set for life in the programming world. Immagine putting that on one's programming resume: "I eliminated the majority of bots in Runescape with an innovative new approach."
  16. So apparantly, they're targeting more than just reflection bots as well. The news post says reflection bots because it wasn't written by the developers. It should also target injection bots as well, whatever the crap those are. :P Page four, second post: [qfc]15-16-791-63289799[/qfc]
  17. So here's the real reason why they're going to stop supporting older versions of Java. Their "clusterflutterer" probably won't work with the old versions or "unsigned" versions.
  18. So the knowledge base says that the wicked hood produces 100 of a free-to-play rune everyday, or 5 members runes, and you can use it twice if you have an elemental talisman. On first reading I though this meant I could get 200 free law or nature runes per day, but now I think it means runes which free-to-play can craft, not those they can use. Is that the way it is?
  19. That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. The teacher, not you. There ARE legitimate reasons for being late. Like finishing a test for example. If she thinks you need to be there that badly, you should just skip. Grr, now she's annoying ME.
  20. Pro tip- Use the extra time, be late for class.

No, but the 10% is insignificant, so if you check like once a week it should be fine.
  22. Depending on where you live, they often DO always have the right of way. :???:
  23. Also, seeing as I have similar stats to yours, I'll tell you what I used. I used black d'hide armour and attacked with stakes (bring ~100 or more, the more the merrier as you'll be less likely to spend time picking them up if you run out). Stay far enough away from him to stay out of range of melee attacks and pray mage protect to avoid damage in the initial stages. You'll need to be a little lucky that he doesn't use his flying attack too much, but follow previous advice to avoid that, and the bloodvelds are simple enough with stakes.
  24. Moving the camera angle was confirmed to be the method of avoiding the attack when the quest came out by the developer of the quest. If anyone knows, they do.
