Fish Flingers Tickets
You have to claim tickets each day to receive them by talking to one of the fisherman. Additionally, there seems to be a cap of 5 tickets at one time. If you have 5 tickets you won't be able to claim more unless you receive a voucher from the Squeal of Fortune, which is worth ten tickets at once. (You cannot claim more tickets until your total is below 5 again, however.)

Another suicide method is ring of slaying to tarn's lair.- Nomad fight
Praying mage does nothing, his normal damage is typeless magic based until he goes into beserk mode, then pray melee seems to help. So, magic defense helps, but mage pray doesn't.- Uses for dominion tower items
Thanks for all the help!- Uses for dominion tower items
I unlocked dreadnips, goliath gloves, and spellcaster gloves today (Still need to track down the pest queen) and was wondering about best uses. Obviously the gloves provide the highest bonuses in their respective categories, so I should use those all the time, and goliath gloves are great for waterfiends, but are there other uses? How about dreadnips, should I just use them for everday slaying to speed things up? Do dreadnips work in the fight caves? Against Jad?- Cryptic Clue Fest 2012
Grr I got confused. I thought I took the items from clue one to Essjay to get the basket, then the items from clue two to her contact. But I needed to take the items from clue one to Essjay's contact and the items from clue two to the following contract. I didn't expect to use the first items twice.- Cryptic Clue Fest 2012
Do we need the stuff from yesterday too? Cause it's not working for me...- Today...
So today my dad took me shopping for my graduation present. Got some nice "grown-up" clothes for interviews, so that was good. Then my dad, my little brother, and me went to the baseball field so my brother could practice his hitting and pitching. My dad was pitching, brother was hitting, I was catching. My brother nicked the ball, but just barely, sending it backward straight into my forehead. A bag of frozen veggies, a couple tylenol, and a fruit smoothie later and I was feeling much better. Yesterday was my grad party. We had WAY too much food, so now we have plenty of leftovers for this week. The job search continues.- Runespan for beginners
It's either lvl 77 or 78 that giving him the runes he asks for becomes the best option.- Are we free?
Is this the same idea as rationalization? From my very basic understanding of rationalization, it is, only for everything rather than behaviors that could be seen as contrary to our sense of self. Essentially, every person has a "story teller" inside their head that takes the body's actions and comes up with a story/reason that fits all of them together in a logical manner. Also, its not exactly rationalization. What I'm talking about comes from a neuroscience perspective. Rationalization comes from psychoanalysis.- Are we free?
Psychology has some interesting research relating to the topic. One thing that is very interesting is that certain parts of your brain make up stories to fit with your actions, even if that story is not the actual reason for your action. This might be hard to understand, but let me explain in terms of an experiment. This study looked at split brain patients, that is, people whose corpus callosum (the part of the brain connecting the two halves) has been severed. This makes it so that the two halves of the brain can not easily communicate with each other. It sets up a situation where, quite literally, the right hand cannot know what the left hand is doing. So, if you show the right eye a picture of a house with leaves on the ground and the left eye a picture of a snow-covered driveway and ask the left hand to pick out a tool to help for the situation it sees from a rake, a shovel, or a pair of shears, the left hand will pick the shovel. But, if you ask the person why they picked the shovel, they will say it is for shoveling up all the leaves, because the right brain (the side that controls the left side of the body) is unable to communicate to the left brain (which houses the majority of the speech centers, as well as the "interpreter" (The section of the brain that makes the story)) that it picked the shovel for shoveling snow, not leaves. But the brain makes sense of it. The point is, our brain is able to make a story to explain why we do things, even if that is not the real reason. This would seem to undermine conceptions of free will due to our inability to trust the conclusion that we did something of our own free will. ...I hope that makes sense. If you want to know more about this sort of psychology research, I suggest looking into the works of Michael Gazzaniga. Also, another thing that psychology has found is that it may be unlikely that we have free will, but it is possible we have "free won't," a last second executive function that can overrule an action planned by our bodies. But, if you get right down to the heart of it, I think free will can only exist if you believe in some form of dualism, because otherwise science and chance (and even chance is not random, just nearly infinite possibilities, one of which was always going to occur because of the position of atoms at that moment) explain it all.- Today...
My younger siblings (well, half of them, and much younger (long story)) had their last day of school for the summer today and got out after a half day. Guess who gets to watch them this summer until he gets a job? This guy. My brother is okay unless his sister is around and being herself, which is always. He can't stand her because of her behavior (she won't listen to a word you say unless she feels like it, which is almost never) and so far too often ends up yelling at her. They are 6 and 10, by the way. I can't wait until my fiance gets back Thursday evening. She is currently with her family doing family stuff, but is headed back here on Thursday. We're living in my parents spare room while we get jobs and maybe find an apartment. At least until we get jobs, we may not get an apartment so we can save money for our wedding. Also, we only plan on being in the area for a year, so it wouldn't be too long if we just stayed with my parents. They're good people, though my sister can single-handedly drive us all insane sometimes.- "I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Rpg, if she gets within 20 feet of you, I suggest you resist any urge to say or do anything with her, punch a hole through the nearest car window, hijack said car, and drive away as fast as possible. If nearest car is your own, skip to the driving away part.- What book are you currently reading?
Currently reading Inheritance. Just in general I think Christopher Paolini looks a bit too smug for his own good. But that's me being judgmental. :P My fiance has a fairly extensive Goodreads. I think I tried setting one up, but didn't get very far. I have plenty of time on my hands at the moment what with being unemployed and recently graduated, so maybe I'll try again.- Post all RS Screenshots, Videos, and Sounds here!
Personally would have preferred a lucky spirit shield of some sort, but I guess I'll take what I can get. Epic luck below: I have now used my once in a lifetime SoF luck. Being as I owned a normal one, I guess that's a free 4 mil for clicking a button.- Today...
So I graduated from college last week. Dang it's weird. Also, for those of you who remember me(probably not many besides maybe RPG), I never really left (as evidenced by my occasional posts), I just went back to lurking. Now that I'm out of school though, I think I'll try to make an effort to post more, though that may fail epically once I get a job. On topic: Today I mowed the lawn and went to my cousin's high school grad party. Nothing exciting, though me and my fiance have a grad/engagement party planned for next weekend that'll hopefully be fun.- Future Update Discussions
Wonder why they didn't mention the crossbow in BTS? Maybe it's not. Maybe it's some kind of hunting harpoon? They did...- Bonfires
How does bonfire exp compare with Jadinko Lair?- May-11-2012 - The Evolution of Combat
Based on the 1 previous beta test they did (RS2) I'm gonna guess there's a 12/10 chance of it being members only, especially since 90% of the combat mechanics, gear and bosses that matter are, and will remain, members features. RS2 beta was free to play for the last few days. Really? Cause my account was created on RSC and I didn't get members until after RS2 launch and I don't recall being allowed on the Beta at all. I was f2p until I could pay for it myself (i.e., way after RS2 launched), and I 100% remember doing beta for a few days (I remember doing rune mysteries twice, for one thing) EDIT: Here we go: Newspost- Runespan at 68 Rc
I started Runespan at level 70, which is pretty much close enough to you for me to give advice. I'd pop up to the top level and make a stash of death runes to give to the yellow wizard when he calls, then go down to the second level and hang out around an island with a law esshound and watch out for high level nodes (jumpers, shifters, nebulas, and chaotic clouds mostly) and siphon those, using the law esshound for essence and when there are no nodes around. When the yellow wizard calls, pop over to where the vine ladder is (the one going down to the first floor) and ask to be pointed in the right direction. There is an island with a law esshound that is only like 3 hops from the permanent blue wizard on the second floor, I hung around there. Important to note is that I think its better to give the best runes you can make (i.e., death) rather than the ones the yellow wizard asks for, all the way until level 77, when there is a jump in experience you get for giving the right runes, so at that point switch to giving the right runes. Questions?- 30-4-2012 The RuneSpan
I've heard that if you equip them, then log out and back in, they'll change back to the colored version.- Wild Weekends
Actually, you're guaranteed a spin ticket the first time you do troll invasion each month.- SoF Feedback Response
Oh no he didn't.- 30-4-2012 The RuneSpan
Must have happened during the fps update. I imagine it was to fix a loophole where you could potentially smuggle the runes out by waiting out the 5-minute timer to tele you out of the random, but that's just speculation and I don't know if that actually worked like that, it was just an idea I had. Anyway, it's a dumb update because it means I can't keep myself comfortably stocked with all the runes I need at all times. :( - Fast way to get rid of 3000 untradeable/unoteable item
