  1. Because that's not the same thing. Fletching enables ranged (and, to a lesser extent, Magic). Without it, it is MUCH more difficult for F2P players who don't use melee as their main to do stuff. Besides, it doesn't actually add any NEW content for F2Pers. The initial products and the end results are both already there, you just can't convert one to the other. The same can't really be said for any of the Herblore or Farming.
  2. I have no doubt that this will be addressed eventually, but my largest problem with it is that even the rewards that ARE offered take forever to get. The lowest one is 13K, which amounts to 130K exp required if you save all your tokens. That's level 52 at the EARLIEST. Forget the dungeoneering "requirements", the actual reqs are much, much higher due to the rate at which tokens are accrued. I know it'll be fixed eventually, but it still seems like bad design to have it be impossible to actually get ANY of the rewards (Exp doesn't count) at the listed level at launch. The most egregious example is definitely the weaponry though - listed level of 45, necessary level of 72 to get all the tokens. Once this is fixed and more rewards are added, I'll like this skill a lot more. Right now I'm in the camp of "Fun to play, but not worth attempting to grind"
  3. Yeah. I forgot, but that was one of the other things I found bizarre: We're allowed to make runes we normally couldn't since we can't bring them in, why can't we make bows we normally couldn't? Also: Is fletching used to make the staves, which makes it much harder to mage since you can't easily get unlimited rune stocks.. Without fletching or better items in the shops, it's difficult to do anything other than Melee in F2P, which really kinda dampens the fun.
  4. It's okay for cheap smithing/crafting as well, especially at the lower levels. Not GREAT, but it's free exp, which for smithing is kinda amazing. Also: I frickin' hate getting disconnected and losing work. They really should save your progress for at least 10 minutes, but that's off topic.
  5. There's long been an argument that F2P should get at least limited amounts of Fletching, and I think this really drives the point home. Obviously the main argument is that F2P people can make melee weapons and runes, but not ranged gear. This is especially driven home by Dungeoneering. In F2p, ranged is essentially a dead skill after about the 3rd complexity level. I realize that we JUST got a new skill, and this seems like pure whining for more features, but honestly, aside from the "You get what you pay for" argument that has been beaten to death, is there any GOOD reason why F2P should be denied access to basic fletching, if only for Dungeoneering?
  6. Huh. I was going to make a long and well thought out post, but Omali covered all the points I was going to cover, better than I could have covered them.
  7. As long as they didn't do an exp reset (they wouldn't) in most skills there would be several hundred, if not thousand, people who would instantly get 100 in that skill. It wouldn't take them weeks, because they already have that much exp.
  8. I have to say, the new rune scimitar looks awesome
  9. Unique item is the "amulet of ranging". It's in the knowledge base Stats are +15 Range attack and +10 Magic Defense
  10. I think that however poorly advised of an idea it is, they are at least CONSIDERING making a Runescape movie. Probably whether or not it goes anywhere will depend on how much of movie nuts the population turns out to be.
  11. Now, I'm normally the last one to catch these things so this is probably old news, but based on the current poll I have to wonder if Jagex may be considering either a Runescape movie or at the very least film advertisement? I did a quick forum search and didn't find anything. So what do you guys think? Am I on to something here, or is this just a coincidence?
  12. I made this account 7 years ago when I was 8. At this point I would LOVE to be able to change to something a tad more original and less childish than "123neopet"
  13. Yeah, but you need a mould. And I don't think you can get THAT back.
  14. I remember that at one point there was a cool tutorial quest involving a three-headed dragon under Lumbridge, but one of my friends just created a character and right now is doing Tutorial Island. I checked my quest list and the tutorial quest was still there. When did they put Tutorial Island back in, and why? Or was I just imagining there ever was a Tutorial quest? Edit - The dungeon in lumbridge is still there. What gives?
  15. Back before I had nearly all the quests done I'd do quests as they came out to keep from getting any MORE behind on quests than I already was.
  16. Worst case scenario: Similar to the Pest Control charms, there are Phoenix Charms/Phoenix Feathers/Ashes only available in small quantities for those willing to waste time on the minigame.
  17. .. He's already done with the Quest. :shame: Actually, no I'm not.
  18. I just got level 76 attack. I clicked the achievements screen for the level, not expecting to see anything, but the screen instead happily informed me that level 76 attack is one of the requirements for While Guthix Sleeps. I checked the quest guide, since I didn't remember that being on the list of required levels, and sure enough it's not. Is it a bug, or a hidden requirement?
  19. Y'know, at this point I feel I should point out that the only reason people keep begging for RSC back is because of the usual nostalgia thing, and the current lack of noobs as compared to runescape. If RSC was released today for the first time, I guarantee there would be a rather smaller number of people interested. I played RSC. I'm playing RS2 now. There is not much that could be said to be "better" about RSC, except perhaps the community and added "Difficulty." And the difficulty just takes the form of being forced to spend even more meaningless hour training.
  20. Does anybody have any advice on gathering it? Which creatures are best to kill and method to use? Also, does anybody know how frequently the various critters drop the pieces?
  21. How am I supposed to manage it when they keep retreating??? I can't do enough damage to kill one!
  22. Do the Giant Rock Crabs in the chaos tunnels drop rock-shell armor pieces? The bestiary doesn't say one way or the other.
  23. Do they drop the bones? The confused barbarian dropped the bones for me but it didn't register.
  24. Do you have to use Chewed Bones? I built a mangled bones arctic pine pyre ship, and killed the Ferocious spirit and... it didn't check off. Any tips? I used the arctic pine on the site, do I need to hit construct? Was I just unlucky?
  25. From looking at the highscores of the two RSNs you have listed on your profile this won't matter, but Torag's is only 1 mil give or take and gives better defense. You do have to repair it, but you would have to log several days worth of combat for it to cost more than dragon.
