Would be interesting if there were 4 levels, with the beginner tasks available for F2p. Granted it would annoy me to have to do 4 levels... Still, I haven't even gotten around to finishing the Karamja Hard Tasks yet (Stupid lag out with a few more rounds of fight caves to go)

Now this game would be almost perfect if doing stuff (aside from combat) gave 5 exp/class so mining level 4 clay would be 20 exp/clay level 3 arrows would give 15 exp/set, etc. Surely that wouldn't be gamebreaking? It would give more incentive to keep playing after getting a full set of everything...

Like some other people, I'll hunt down a copy if other people who have read it say it's good. I have a rather low expectation, but that's mostly because most the writing I read while on Rs is extremely immature people speaking in 90% chat speak with a few censored or censor avoiding words thrown in for good measure. I'm not as afraid as I was that they aimed it towards the 13> crowd they aimed the "manual" at because of the page count, but I'm still reluctant to trust a first-time author without a good word from somebody else. If it were 100ish pages with nice 16 point font for the kiddies to read, somewhere in the vein of a "Magic Tree House" (popular kids series for people who don't know) I'd run very quickly in the opposite direction. I'll try to remain optimistic until proven otherwise though.

On the whole, "lengthy games require grinding" topic - Puzzle Pirates is an MMO with extremely little grinding compared to any other MMO I have heard of or played. Also, Spore sounds like it will have hours upon hours of gameplay with very little grinding. On the RS at E3 topic: What is there to discuss/show off at E3? Everyone knows what Runescape is, it's kind of a constant, a game who's premise if not content has remained unchanged for years. There is nothing about Runescape which is new or revolutionary to anyone who doesn't play.

I agree with the fact they wouldn't do that, however, there is the fact that pretty much the only thing that requires them to put the 13+ only rule on account making is the free chat. It may not stop any kids, but it may stop some parents (who control the wallet). So I think the next logical step is making a lot more QC only worlds and then allowing people under 13 to create accounts. They just have to play on QC-only worlds.

Did anon #3 say that 50 words a minute is slow typing? ("Their fifty-words-per-minute has ceased to be an impediment") That's pretty darned fast, given that the average slow typer has problems with getting out 20.

I love how everyone seems to assume that summoning won't be able to be used in any place where it might be useful for combat. (Forgetting for a second this is JAGEX we're talking about, who have done some less than intelligent things in the past) Why would Jagex create a new skill that is (at least half) combat based and not let it be used for combat? If they do I have a hunch the headline would be, "Jagex shoots self in foot with new update. Many disappointed, few surprised.

To all who say RSC is better, unless my memory is terribly flawed, it wasn't. I suppose an argument COULD be almost made that after December 10 it became better, but even still... I have a hunch if we switched RSC and RS2 as main game and game with <5,000 players. I guarantee MANY more people would beg for RS2 back then have ever begged for RSC to come back. Old School doesn't mean better.

well the best thing for training will, most likely, be below level 50 because of materials needed for high levels will be too expensive, so at people will be able to reach the levels needed for the best stuff before february

I still don't get why members hate F2Ps getting stuff. If we get enough stuff to make it not worth being members, that $5 a month they save. :twisted:

New industry? Heck no. Go to Ebay. Look up "Runescape Account." This has been going on for a while.... Unless they REALLY start mass producing accounts, we're safe. However, if RFGT41234 (example) suddenly tops Zezima in the high scores, we'll know we have a problem on our hands.

I whole-heartedly agree. We also won't get Runecrafting - The Nature, law, and death altars are in members areas! Also, Pure Essence can only be mined by members. Also, we won't get smithing! The barbarian smithing guy is in a members only area. Plus darts and arrowheads and knives are members only! No way we'll get any of the combat skills either. Look at all those members objects! Etc... I realize I'm exaggerating a slight bit, but I believe that at least one part of my point is valid.

They have flat out stated the monsters will be able to help with skills. Don't know how yet, but they will be able to.
