that? Cause those are just British kids being whiny. 9000 pounds/year for college? that's like $21,000/year Most American collleges are $30,000+/year. Britaish conservatism needs to get over itself. It's a case of tripled pricing. It's also £9,000 for your basic university. They can now charge what they want, and the government is going to cut 40% from education funding. If education fees tripled and 40% of the education budget was slashed in America, wouldn't there be riots there too? They'd essentially be killing themselves (the government and, as a side victim, the economy) if they did that. It's too easy to play the victim in this, and you don't want to be the one causing this. This is one of those things you don't want to cause. $21,000 is what you'd be paying per year for something like med school, not a normal 4-year degree. All I know is, here in the states, average "good" colleges cost $40,000/year tuition only. My buddy goes to [and lives at] Drexel University in the 5 year program. He's already over $100,000 in debt, and he's only in his third semester. I myself only pay $6,000/semester [close to $10,000/year] but I commute, and go to one of the most ghetto colleges in the damn country. Hmm, strange. Vanderbilt is one of the best places to go for a medical degree, and it's the same cost than your "good" colleges. Really, in the end, employers don't give a [cabbage] what college you went to, only if you have the degree or not. Exceptions nonwithstanding, of course.
  2. Haha, how very true. I don't understand people's determination to kill spies. Well I do, but not to the extent of dying and not getting close to killing him. It's so easy to lure people into your sentries or your teammates, it's unbelievable. Then we got the pyros who's magical fire can still reach you even if you're far away. Spies basically make up half the metagame at pubs. Seriously, people will start keeping an eye on their backs the instant they see a backstab in the killfeed. There's a reason they're so feared.

Britaish conservatism needs to get over itself. Yeah, $30K for something like an ivy league school. Seriously, my tuition only comes to something like $7,000 a year at most. And it's still expensive. And RPG, your math is off: 9000 British pounds sterling = 14552.1000 US dollars
  5. Yeah, I'd love to play with you aussies/new zealanders, but as Shiny's seen, 250 ping isn't that workable, even if I was doing alright before getting kicked for high ping.
  6. Can you get around the map effectively enough, or should I say fast enough? If not, the CnD isn't helping. 13 kills and no deaths doesn't mean anything if you aren't causing mass paranoia, breaking engineer nests, and other silly shenanigans. The DR and IW are better in that regard. Surprisingly, it's worse in pubs than in higher competitive matches. Probably because spies are usually employed as a "one life" deal, where one of the scouts will swap to spy to quickly dispose of the medic, even if it kills them. And losing the medic usually puts you at an absurd disadvantage.
  7. Ok, the hitreg in this game is [cabbage]ty beyond belief. I should not be able to empty a whole [bleep]ing Ensign clip into someone running at me, only for not ONE bullet to hit as host, and then get knifed. And this is with ADS no less.
  8. That is badass. Refuge in audacity anyone?
  9. Oh god this. Awesome movie. Just watched it. Mary Elizabeth Winstead was one of my favourite actresses long before Scott Pilgrim ever existed, but I will say that after seeing her as Ramona Flowers I fell in love completely. Did you read the comic before seeing the movie? It's definitely worth reading once, even if you don't like comics  , especially if you liked the movie. I need to find the comics, but yeah, she did a pretty good performance.
  10. Oh god this. Awesome movie. Just watched it.
  11. Most classes can hold their own if the scout loses his ambush. They really can't get too close to the soldier since he could just shoot at his feet and kill you, for instance. Other scouts is a sheer test of skill and luck. Yeah, they're frustrating to deal with as a demo, but not for their speed. (*cough* disjointed hitboxes *cough*)
  12. That doesn't look very OP to me for whatever reason. To be honest, this game actually is looking decent. Since my brother is getting it, I might give it a shot

All things considered, it's not too bad. If you're inventive, you could come up with an awesome and hilarious story. By the end, it'd be a matter of trying to figure out what NOT to keep.

I expect to last more than one song (hopefully), so let's throw this into the mix for me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvwxfcS-CW0
  15. Definitely. Simplicity can be a good thing. Also, I agree with Wing that the first one had a more appealing "feel" or "atmosphere". The levels were much better too. That's not to say I don't think L4D2 has any better qualities. I did like the additional special infected and weapons. Overall, I'd rather play the first one. Yeah, hence me usually tagging my opinions with YMMV.
  16. I beg to differ on L4D1. You're saying a game that added more options, actual melee weapons, more variety in enemies, entirely new campaigns, fixed quite a few bugs, and even allowed you to play older ones, is in fact worse than the first one? YMMV on the characters though. Otherwise, interesting list.
  17. It seems a bit too good to be true though. I'd be wary regardless.

Oh god that picture caught me off guard. That was great lol. Working on an essay atm.
  19. Maybe it's a good investment to him. Looking good by the way dude.

I'm pretty sure you can. I don't see why it wouldn't be allowed, since it's basically a gift-card. I assume you're doing it to purchase something online? OT: Hi. It's been like three days or something since I've posted here. ITT I mean. I heard somewhere that you have to have a parent with you to sign something. I dunno, I don't want to walk up to the cashier and have him/her say, "Oh, not 18? NAWT SELL 2 U HARHAR" You don't have to be 18 to buy them. I did this a lot before I got my card. Usually you just activate the card at the register and then register it with a web-site to use it online. And besides, there's no law against it, so...
  21. I'm not sure that they factored in immigration that causes way too many problems. Or a huge populace. Except statistics don't support those "problems", and I don't think that the American population has reached critical levels yet. But that's alright, we'll just alter the fundamental rights and values of what used to be the most free society in the world because a few Republicans are afraid of brown people. Right. The idea that economic troubles are caused by immigrants and minorities is a myth, and a dangerous one at that. See also: Holocaust. Did you just compare illegal immigration to the codifier of mass genocide, of all things? I can see the comparison, but that's a bit of a jump. I'm not sure you did understand. The logical reasoning behind the extremism of the Holocaust was that the Jews, along with other minorities, were the cause of Germany's economic problems. The similarity I'm pointing out is that in a time of economic turbulence, people turn to a scapegoat. Minorities are easy to target. This sort of thought process needs to be exposed and diverted before we end up doing something ridiculously immoral. Not that it would matter, anyways - the victors write the history books, right? I'm certain I did understand. You didn't need to explain it. I'm not sure that YOU understood the jump you made. I understood the logic, but still, illegal immigration to the systematic murdering of six million Jews or more certainly is a bit of a jump
  22. If something isn't broken, why fix it?

I still don't understand where this "slave" analogy originates from. I think it's just an interpretation of what this law would mean for the prison corps. Essentially taking their freedom (even worse if they didn't know this law exists), forcing them to work, and profiting on the labor of others, when those who are being profited off of probably won't ever see any of the fruits of their labor. It's essentially slavery, in that regard. I'd like to see exactly how the bill would handle it, but still, from the outside, it seems like a terrible idea on account of basic human rights.
  24. Wait... Wtf Anyway ^ that artical has some people complaining that it has no sources at the end.. So my favorite thing about women is their need to have sources in a paper establishing scientific fact For serious I like smart girls because as somewhat of a "smart" guy I want someone who is more talented than me It makes sense in context I suppose. And that dude who's going on about being a Supreme Overlord? He's talking about being a Supreme Overloard of a [cabbage]ty MMO. But that'd be impartial of me to say that, when they're all terrible. And I'll humor you, tinfoil boy. I deemed you a failure for thinking you're better than everyone else, and my mind works differently from others. Feels lonely up on your nonexistant perch, isn't it? I'm not going to derail this topic any further though. If you want to push the issue forward, you can do so over PM. And for the record, I don't get plastered on the weekends. As for women: If they're a yaoi fangirl, it's usually a bit of a turn-off for me. Maybe it's all the experiences I've had that made me go "Ugh"
  25. The problem is that immigration in the United States is broken. The feds have proven themselves unable (or unwilling) to control illegal immigration as is their job through ICE, so Arizona took matters into its own hands. While it is not an ideal solution, it is not a bad one, either. As to taking peoples' freedom - just remember that those people broke the law under both the old and new definitions. Arizona is simply enforcing laws which already exist. I won't deny that immigration is a problem, even if this is something of a solution. I'm only saying this can and probably will set one nasty precedent for other bills like this. Even then, what guarantee is there that the prisoners will be treated fairly? This almost violates the 15th Amendment of the Constitution, if only for the fact that the Constitution doesn't cover non-citizens, and if anyone who was a citizen is forced into this, then it WILL violate it. Those that are already here though, shouldn't be punished under this bill though. I say this as a person who simply thinks that forcing anyone into what is essentially slavery is absolutely disgusting, no matter the precedent. I don't think they'll be seeing freedom, or the fruits of their efforts. If these immigrants can be granted something for this, whether it be citizenship and freedom, then I'd be all for it provided there were protections in place for prisoners. The 15th amendment guarantees citizens the right to vote. As illegal aliens - by defenition - have no right to vote, the 15th amendment does not apply to them. Further, sending people to prison is hardly slavery - legal codes with provisions for imprisonment have existed for thousands of years, and they are not considered to be "slavery"; breaking the law is just cause for being sent to jail. Forcing immigrants to do slave labor, to where they only do work and don't see anything of it is a violation of human rights, and isn't something I'd stand for.. And I didn't quite mean what I stated about the amendment. The point I'm aiming for is that forcing what is essentially slavery is absurd. It'd be like imprisoning Americans who go to Canada and making them work in a factory for nothing and keeping them captive. I'd be all for this law if protections were in place so they aren't exploited unreasonably, but so far I haven't seen any. And for the record, I'm neutral towards the immigration issue. I just don't agree on locking people up and forcing labor on them, then not letting them see any of the fruits of their labor.
