  1. I'm not sure that they factored in immigration that causes way too many problems. Or a huge populace.
  2. Classy as hell eh? I certainly get all the ladies...
  3. Asking a question like this, it's almost like you want the conversation to become inappropriate. Favorite thing? Chores and housework, I guess. If the guy wearing tin foil is a picture of you then i wouldnt expect any less  If you want to tell me how gorgeous I am, tell it in the Real Life Pictures thread, sir. For all we know, you could be bald under that tinfoil, with bits of hair meticulously photoshopped on. Not to mention a mugshot alone doesn't even give us an idea as to your body shape. You could be a total fatass even, or something grotesque, resemblling a Holocaust victim. And let's not begin to deconstruct how ridiculous the tinfoil is. You sir, are an absolute failure. And I haven't even began to deconstruct the fact you play such a [cabbage]ty game as Runescape, of all things.
  4. Dear god I almost had a heart attack. I was moving across a patch of sand when I decided to build a temporary scaffolding so I could figure out where stuff is. The entire beach shifted and fell downward. *TWANG TWANG TWANG TWANG TWANG*
  5. You aren't very well-informed, are you? I'd still try to reinstall java or restart your computer. These occassionally crop up for me when I play Minecraft, but they're harmless. They're just output logs for when errors pop up.
  6. Honestly, considering it's a Mac OS 10.x.x, it probably has integrated graphics. Still, no amount of upgrading will salvage that machine. You need a new one. But yes, do you have to have a Mac?
  7. And they're a pain in the ass to hit with a bow. That's pretty much the only way you'll be able to kill them. And my obsidian gate bugged out I think. I warped in, couldn't warp back out, died. Warped in, and warped out... only to end up in some cave that I have no clue in hell as to where it was.
  8. I keep a bearded dragon or two. A laptop I recently gutted. Took this a year ago, never bothered to post it though. Steampunk is awesome and so are those goggles.
  9. Sum 41 - Hell Song
  10. Update is live eh? The site is unfortunately getting hammered so badly I can't get on.

When was the last time you saw a plant make a decision? When was the last time you saw a plant have self awareness? I recommend you read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consciousness Something you failed to do with the article you presented. And my point that the plant qualifies for being sentient by that definition alone still stands. It doesn't have to necessarily be aware in order for it to be sentient, if the dictionary definition is to be believed. And you still dodged my statement of "OR". It doesn't have to be conscious. I'll acknowledge that awareness can be a part of sentience, but it isn't necessarily a requirement, like the ability to feel. One must be present though for it to fill the definition. And just to make things clear, "Plants are not "aware" of their environment. They do react to stimuli but the reaction is impulsive, not conscious." was what I was referring to by my first definition. If you want, I could kill this entire argument with a simple programming analogy.
  14. Plan 9 from Outer Space (1958) - Oh dear lord, this movie is probably the worst one ever made in my opinion. The story moves fast as it's only merit, but otherwise it's just terrible. So much stock footage it's unbelievable, alongside the worst cockpit imitation ever. 1/10. I don't give 0/10, because that'd imply that it isn't a movie, but it is. Jason X (2002) - Falls into the so bad it's good category, but is amusing as all hell to watch. Maybe I'm a fan of cheesy slasher fics or something, I don't know. It's kinda hilarious to watch, and entertained me the way through. 7/10 Godzilla: Final Wars (2004) - This movie was actually surprisingly good. I won't say too much, but it's awesome. Watch it subbed, since the dubbed version is terrible. When subbed, it's all kinds of crazy awesome. Unfortunately it was the last film that came out and we might not ever see another. Basically, think of it as "Destroy All Monsters" with more silly stuff going on. The main villain is such a large ham it's entertaining to watch. Think of it as a going away party for a friend- you invite everyone you know, they bring their friends, and they bring even more friends, things get a little out of control, and in the end you're not really sure what happened, but you know it was an awesome once-in-a-lifetime ride. That pretty much sums the film up. 8/10 The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) - This film was, interesting to say the least. I'm still not sure what I think of it. I was subjected to it by some friends at uni.
  15. As much as I want to disagree with this on account of double standards in general being disgusting, I actually agree on this. It might help that I'm a card-carrying yuri fanboy though. Just make it so that even guys can do that with no recourse, and everyone is happy, or I hope?

"Is it really killing?" I consider abortion 'Letting the thing die', not 'Killing it'. Depends on the method, ofcourse. Would you call miscarriages murder? I don't see anything wrong with killing non sentient organisms. Wait - I think I misinterpreted what you were trying to say. Nevermind. But - How can you be sure something isn't sentient? Run tests on it in a lab? Apparently, even plants can be sentient. http://www.environmentalgraffiti.com/plants/news-feeling-plants-how-sensitive-flora Plants react with no thought process which constitutes they are (by most standards) not sentient. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/sentient And what "standards" are you referring to? I think those plants fit the sentient definition rather well. Plants are not "aware" of their environment. They do react to stimuli but the reaction is impulsive, not conscious. That definition doesn't mention the word "aware" at all. Even then, the operative word is "or" in that definition. Nowhere in that definition does it state that thought has to be involved either. I'm not in the mood to really argue semantics, but still. It could be responsive to sense impressions, OR conscious of sense impressions. I'm using a denotation of the word, you're using a connotation at best. And I still haven't seen what your "standard" is.
  17. The problem is that immigration in the United States is broken. The feds have proven themselves unable (or unwilling) to control illegal immigration as is their job through ICE, so Arizona took matters into its own hands. While it is not an ideal solution, it is not a bad one, either. As to taking peoples' freedom - just remember that those people broke the law under both the old and new definitions. Arizona is simply enforcing laws which already exist. I won't deny that immigration is a problem, even if this is something of a solution. I'm only saying this can and probably will set one nasty precedent for other bills like this. Even then, what guarantee is there that the prisoners will be treated fairly? This almost violates the 15th Amendment of the Constitution, if only for the fact that the Constitution doesn't cover non-citizens, and if anyone who was a citizen is forced into this, then it WILL violate it. Those that are already here though, shouldn't be punished under this bill though. I say this as a person who simply thinks that forcing anyone into what is essentially slavery is absolutely disgusting, no matter the precedent. I don't think they'll be seeing freedom, or the fruits of their efforts. If these immigrants can be granted something for this, whether it be citizenship and freedom, then I'd be all for it provided there were protections in place for prisoners.

  19. I don't like this idea one bit. In fact, the idiot who suggested it should be disbarred from lawmaking forever. Really, taking their freedom, forcing what could be seen as slave labor on them, and they won't have any rights due to being in prison? This rubs me the wrong way on so many levels it's unbelievable. At least, that's how I'm seeing it. And it's funny, all those lawmakers are getting sponsored... by prisons, no less. And deporting should still be the main method of dealing with illegal immigrants. I mean, if it isn't broken, why fix it?

  21. Hmm, future-proofing basically means having it be powerful enough to where you could run games even a few years from now. Still, $1000 is quite a bit and would get you something quite nice, but I have classes in the morning so I can't quite make a good parts list for you.
  22. It'd be nice to know a few more specifics, like what games you plan on running, if you want to future proof, any specific specs you're aiming for, etc.
