While I admit the beats are usually catchy, techno is way too repetitive for me. Complementing it with repetitive scenes just makes it worse. Plus electronic computer sounds don't really appeal to me much. Oh yeah, and how are we supposed to discuss this besides  or  ?
  2. Led Zeppelin - Achilles Last Stand Probably my favorite Led Zeppelin song.

The Misfits have the same exact musical structure as any other punk band. Are they not punk just because they talk about horror movies instead of the government? This is why genres are [developmentally delayed]ed. No, that wasn't what you said. But whatever. That's exactly what he said... Plus I agree with him. Some love songs are okay but the majority of them are just easy marketing tools which I despise. Like he said, I enjoy music that makes you think.
  4. I know I say this a lot lol, but the graphics are another reason I quit RS. Especially when the dialogue box comes up. I miss the old school looks - now it just reminds me of the Disney Channel.
  5. What's the character limit? Oh and don't get mad at me for asking, but is Mastur Debater considered inappropriate?
  6. I praise you for your mining level, so 7.
  7. What an ironic thread.
  8. I was just talking in general - not RS specifically. You're right, I hated when people would set up flowers while I was Firemaking or Hunting just to slow me down. It actually did effect the way I played which I agree is bad. But if we're just talking about words then that's a completely different story.
  9. I think it's okay to be an internet tough guy, but only if you're a real life tough guy too.
  10. I remember having both 1 and 2 for the Sega Channel a long time ago. They were so hard and I don't think I made it past the second level on either one. But then again, I was like 5-years-old.
  11. I agree. It just simply means you don't have as many financial problems as others. But that still leaves relationship problems, family problems, self-esteem problems, health problems, etc. In my opinion those are a lot worse. Besides providing you with the basic necessities, money doesn't do much for you at all.
  12. I agree, but why did they have to make that thing 10 minutes long? :?
  13. Yeah, or the fact that if they chose GTA to play instead of Pokemon then they were probably already more geared towards violence in the first place.
  14. It's okay for a web comic. Most web comics suck, especially that Cyanide one. Ugh...
  15. You can always say that. I already think the world is as good as it can be. By this I mean all the negative aspects of the world are necessary. For example, you might not be too fond of death but that's only because you're looking at the dark side of it. There is a good side to death - it prevents overpopulation, it ensures perpetuate changes in society, bad people will not have to be dealt with forever, it makes us appreciate loved ones more than we'd appreciate them if your relationship with them was permanent. Also, if everything was already what you consider perfect then where would that leave us? We'd have nothing to overcome and no challenges to face - and these are actually the things that bring the best out of people. We would have no room to progress. I don't think that's a good thing at all. This I agree with. In religious texts such as the Bible, I think they just personify god. I think of god as a force like mother nature instead of an actual being. Although I do usually say "him" or "he" for convenience. They were written by man. This is one of the reasons I dislike religion. You see the mistakes that religions make and it completely eradicates their credibility, so naturally you're not gonna believe anything they say, especially how god exists. Religion is supposed to bring you closer to god but I say it does the opposite. It puts a wall in between you and god. Your relationship with god should be personal, not a social thing - that only sprouts the "Holier Than Thou" mentality. Also, everyone has different opinions on everything so their opinions about god are going to differ no matter what. Religion doesn't allow that kind of flexibility. It's basically a rulebook telling you how to worship god. I decided to throw that book away and do things my own way. I've thought about this before and it vexes me. If god only exists in our minds then doesn't he still exist? It's like morality. There isn't a location in the universe where morality exists - it's an idea that exists in our minds, but you don't hear us saying that morality doesn't exist. Maybe Plato was onto something. :P The principle that you are the highest form of being in the universe sounds like mental support to me too though.
  16. This is a one-sided argument. If they are information sponges then that would mean it would be easy to feed them the information that violence is bad too, which means there's no need for censors. Children are impressionable to violence, but not impressionable to peace...? I'm also pretty sure most children realize the difference between real life and video games. And if they don't, since they are sponges, all you have to do is demonstrate that there is a difference and they should listen to you. If it doesn't work then I guess they aren't as impressionable as they were thought to be, which means there is another major factor besides impressionability that leads to children doing violent things. I cry on the inside every time I see the gateway argument. You go ahead and say "gateway", but I'll say "alternative".
  17. I love his sig, mainly because it actually does describe me. It's nice to know everyone on TIF wishes they were me. Can the real Zierro please stand up?
  18. Smashing Pumpkins - Tonight, Tonight
  19. I'm a senior so I got to take my exams early and leave school before everyone else. I aced all of them except for Nutrition - that test was seriously made by a [developmentally delayed].
  20. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Dosed "Take it away, I never had it anyway." Favorite line of the song. :)

Today a woodpecker pecked on the outside wall of my house - literally one foot from where my bed is! Good thing I stayed up all night instead of slept or else I would have been pissed.
  22. Yeah I know, that's what I beat 3, 4, 5, and 6 on. The problem is I don't know how to get one for 9. :( Easy? Are we talking about just getting everyone to 99 or getting the Order of Ambrosia rank? The leveling task seems simple, especially with Gambits doing most of the work for me. As for OOA, doing all the hunts, getting all the espers, and getting all the Sky Pirate Den thingies seems like a loooong journey. I'm also trying my best to get every single piece of equipment in the game, but if I miss a few then no big deal. Oh yeah and I'm level 40 now. :P EDIT: And on topic of FF12:
  23. Tool - You Lied Tool - No Quarter
  24. Unless the person being exposed specifically wants it censored from a certain audience (like public tv) for privacy reasons, then yes. We've lived without censors for centuries and we've done fine without them. Great point. Two years ago I went to school wearing an Iron Maiden shirt with guns on it. An administrator forced me to go to the bathroom and wear it inside out. He said weapons are not allowed in the dress code. The ironic part about it is that their school mascot was a knight with a sword and they sold "School Spirit T-Shirts" with the mascot on it. All the admins' outfits had the mascot on them too. That's authority for you. EDIT: This thread is purely rhetorical and I think taking away censors at this current moment would actually be a bad thing. We're used to things being hidden from us, so it would be too much of a shock factor for us to deal with. Censorship gave us the mentality that whatever is behind the censor is supposed to be shocking just because of the fact that it's censored. So now whenever we see the same thing without something covering it, there is a little more shock attached than there should be. Like Jaerk said, it's making things appear worse than they actually are. It was a bad idea to incorporate them in the first place and now it's kinda too late to change things. Although, if we did things slowly and gradually overtime then I can see a possibility.
