  1. So wait. You're not considered "poor" if you have a hand-me-down computer and hand-me-down television? Lol, I bet you just had your second square meal of the day after saying that. What a fat country I live in. I agree with you there.

I agree. My near apathy is unmatched by the tea party and hippies alike - I'm like the Glenn Beck or Keith Olberman of centrist views. Because of that, I apologize if you were offended that I pointed out the lack of a significant difference between political parties. I'm also sorry that I implied the party you like is pretty much the same as the one you hate. Because I disagree with you, I'm obviously a crazy political person. Thank you for this epiphany; I think I'll start agreeing with everything your party does, so I won't be considered crazy by you anymore. I don't affiliate myself with any party. I'm just like you, except I don't use massive strawman attacks to paint the picture, which is ironically a very political thing to do.
  3. Thanks, that's what I needed to hear. I was stuck in a rut of being the world's greatest Pokemon trainer and was hoping someone would be kind enough to free me. Now what exactly needs improvement? PS: Crobat's name is Probat to give you an idea of my skill level.

When I was younger I used to have a big problem with symmetry. When I scratched my left ear with my right arm, I'd have to scratch my right ear with my left arm. If I banged my left knee on a desk, I'd have to bang my right knee on a desk. Thank god I grew out of that mess.
  5. I don't see how having some fairness, balance, and foundation in which to base our system off of is nothing but a load of head-in-the-clouds idealism. My problem is how "reasonable doubt" is essentially random based on the jurors you get. People get convicted of murder for less evidence than there is against Casey all the time. As long as there's a juror who says, "Well it's POSSIBLE that the FSM from Pluto was responsible," then no amount of evidence matters - everyone is innocent. What I want out of the court is not to get Casey Anthony convicted of murder, but for there to be some form of consistency and that crazy word "precedent" to actually be used in practice instead of merely talked about. The solution is pragmatism: theory derived from practice and made into better practice. (IE: Courts need a more solid form of consistency with who they let go and who they don't, and this case screams that.) So your definition of pragmatism is to appeal to the masses? What if the masses are wrong like they were with the Salem Witch Trials? Population means next to nothing in the face of pure science and reasoning. In fact, we even have a logical fallacy for the purpose of avoiding the whole "WELL, WHO'S SIDE IS BIGGER??" method of discovering the truth. "Truth" being the most "pragmatic" solution to ethical affairs like these.
  6. When an individual is intrigued about a certain lineage, unusual lifestyles across the globe, or even the origin of something we see in our modern lives (pizza anyone?) and decides to do research about the social functions of our world while maintaining interest at the same time, I admire that. When people shove down my throat how majestic a certain culture is, I can't stop myself from gagging on it.
  7. OCD

From what I've gathered, everybody has "OCD" in one facet of their life or another. I am extremely pedantic and meticulous with writing, hand-washing, dish-washing, schoolwork, and video game statistics. When it comes to stuff like cleaning the house, I usually half-ass it.
  8. No suggestions? I mean, there has to be SOMETHING that I'm doing wrong.

A roach crawled up my leg while I was in the shower today.... And people wonder why I don't shower.

You really nailed your own coffin with the ironically over-zealous tone. Now you made yourself look like a crazy political person.

No. I smoke cigarettes on and off whenever I feel like it (can go months without even contemplating whether I should ask a friend for one or not). I just smoke them whenever I feel the mood is right. Whereas when it comes to pot or sex, I can't remember a time when I turned them down. I'm just more off-put to things that are severely damaging to the body, regardless of how great the benefits may be. Everyone is different. Some people get addicted to MMO's somehow...
  12. Dead Space is scary as hell, not because of the spooks or atmosphere, but the fact that the gameplay is mind-bogglingly monotonous and lackluster.
  13. Facebook statuses have shown me that the world is an even bigger hypocrite than I thought.
  14. I don't agree with most social norms in the first place, so I don't see how this is anything different than playing a sport I am not interested in. To each his own. As for online predators, they sure do exist but they are overhyped by the media.
  15. Disgusting is reasonable terminology, but saying it makes someone a very low person whom you despise is pretty close to saying it's "immoral". Whatever you want to call it, I see it as purely natural. We think nothing of washing our hands and killing millions of living creatures, yet some of us cry from seeing a single random member of our species die. The closer a living being is to a human in terms of intelligence and physical appearance, the more empathetic we tend to feel about its well-being. Perhaps it's just self-preservation embedded in our biology. Sure it's an unfair system, but nature itself is unfair.
  16. I'm bored of the redundant selection of 100's I have in Black, so I decided to get a handful of new Pokemon to train for the upcoming battle against my friend. Don't judge it as a team - I'm going to be mixing and matching them with others, like Pokemon that my brothers are going to train and some of our old ones. Torterra: Wood Hammer, Stone Edge, Leech Seed, Synthesis (EV: Hp & Att, NAT: Sp.D or Att) Salamence: Dragon Claw, Rock Slide, Fire Fang, Hone Claws (EV: HP & Def & Spe, NAT: Spe) Vanilluxe: Ice Beam, Hail, Acid Armor, Mirror Coat (EV: HP & Sp.D & Spe, NAT: Spe) Drifblim: Stockpile, Swallow, Ominous Wind, Baton Pass (EV: HP & Def & Sp.D, NAT: Sp.D) Crobat: Fly, Poison Fang, U-Turn, Haze (EV: HP & Att & Spe, NAT: Att) Umbreon: Work Up, Moonlight, Psychic, Payback (EV: HP & Def & Sp.D, NAT: Def) Criticism? Tips on better move sets/EV distributions?
  17. Would you eat something that is not usually socially accepted e.g dog, balut (fertilized duck embryo)? I would never eat dog unless it was the absolute last thing on earth and I was starving to death. Not eating another culture's cuisine or odd foods doesn't seem picky to me, though. I don't understand. What's so bad about eating dog? In 21 years of being alive, I've gone a total of two weeks at most without having a dog as a pet. I despise people who eat dog. So if you owned a cow would you be completely against eating beef? That is a ridiculous counterexample. The emotional bond between a human and a cow is not nearly the same as that between a human and a dog. Ahh, the power of social stigma. In certain cultures around the world the cow is seen as sacred - which is a relationship beyond the level of a "house pet" if you ask me. That being said, I'm iffy about eating anything out of the norm. It just seems safer and more practical to eat what's in the highest demand.
  18. [/hide]From the Battlefield 3 blog. Looking good  Nice, it's looking pretty juicy so far. My biggest concern is that hopefully the level selection will be better than 2's.
  19. [developmentally delayed]s in Halo Reach consistently getting placed on my team. If it's not someone standing still, it's someone running into battle and dying 26 times only to get 3 kills that were assisted. If it's not that, it's someone betraying me because I picked up a power weapon that I could use better than I see they do. Then I see the other team all working in unison and preserving their lives... Lucky mother [bleep]ers.

    Were they friends or burglars?

Well still better than voting for a disaster. Besides, it always comes down to the two richest campaigners anyway. That type of 'democracy' is practically just an illusion to make people think they had their say-so in politics. If you are really that determined to make a difference, casting a single vote is perhaps one of the least effective ways of making a change. My non-vote isn't for the purpose of fighting for some sort of anarchy. If someone was worth the walk to the nearest ballot, they would surely have my vote. I've yet to see any in this day and age though. But enough about me. Let's get some of your opinions on the matter for more perspective. Would you rather swallow a giant douche or a turd sandwich? Think lesser evil.
  22. But the internet is how introverts can gain some good social exp, and ultimately graduate to communicating IRL.
  23. There are people who will always be mean or [developmentally delayed]ed no matter what you do. Don't take it out on everybody else. Write down their names and take it out on them. As for your reputation in OT, you only have 200 posts. We didn't even get the chance to learn who you are yet, but this sure isn't the best way to become known.
  24. Same here. I'm on constant look-out thanks to 1000 Ways to Die.
  25. Kill stealing in Halo? Now that's a KD [bleep]. I have over 4k assists with 20k kills and I never complained about "kill steals". Assists are very important in alleviating the opposition's overall offense and thus keeping you and your team alive and ready for the next enemy attack. Also, there is a large degree of luck involved. Sometimes I shoot someone at the same time two other guys shoot him and I get a 1-shot-kill. I don't do it on purpose - it's just how the game works. I suppose if you were purposely following around one random guy and waiting until they took off all the enemy's shields and just popping one shots the entire match, then I can see how that would be annoying. Even so, it's not like you're causing your team to lose.
