Hawks

Took my first English exam today (on the Odessey, can't have been that bad). Tomorrow is the grammar exam, and American History. Both are going to be super easy... Thursday I have German 1 and Algebra 2, both entirely multiple choice so they sould be easy. And an essay in Band for the exam. Friday I have Biology, again all multiple choice so should be easy. Had a dumb Aerobics exam (how can you :roll: ) which involved teaching the class and running a mile last week.

Music, I find some nice Muse and blare it loud. Or else I get wrapped up in a book, generally a good one but if I can't find anything else I'll use Breaking Dawn, it's useful for getting out of reality. :roll:

From the river I heard Wizz ask for some sticks and twigs. Being very careful about it, I took my hat and slowly filled it with berries, most of which I think were wild strawberries, since I recognized them easily. I also found a nice blueberry bush and something that might have been raspberries, but might also have been poisonous... Didn't take any of those. I collected a lot of small sticks that were lying about on the ground, as well as some pine needles. They're really useful as tinder, except they burn quickly. On my way back, I found a large, recently fallen tree that if taken care of properly, could provide very good firewood. "Here's the sticks and stuff. And there's a nice tree back there ripe for burining," I sat on the rock again, and dragged my fingers back and forth across it... Wait a minute... Was my ring steel? I pulled it off my thumb, and struck it across the flint. "SPARKS!" I yelled. "Yes! Here, gimme that." I set up a small pile of pine needles and surrounded them with twigs, then some smaller sticks. I took the flint off the spear and struck the ring with it many times... After a few minutes, when the sun was almost down, I had made a very small, but growing fire. Not going on vacation, (went to CA on spring break) but I'm going to IKEA (couple hours drive from here) on Saturday to buy crap for my room (+SWEDISH MEATBALLS!!!), then off to be a CIT for two weeks, then hopefully a lot of Ren Fests.

This is in answer to Nom's question a few posts back: I assume your current fictional pieces are about 1000 words. I think if you could do 1500, or even just one 'section' more per Times more people would enjoy it. And I pose my question again: Would you read articles featuring forums? If it was featuring exactly what's so great and amazing about the forum? Also, I tried to gear my article more towards a 'stop complaing, you have all these cool things you can do, so help out and learn something' stance and apparently people just thought I was writing 'oh look here are all the forums'... :| I guess I'll try again..

I did just that. I chose a straight branch and lopped it off, then broke it in half. I took the flint and made sort of a notch in the end, then jammed the flint in as far as it would go. I handed it to Wizz, then made another one. I took off my boots and waded into the river. The fish were plentiful, and appeared to be some sort of trout. I took careful aim, making sure the setting sun cast my shadow onto land. With a sudden movement, I suprised a large one. I grabbed it out of the water and hurried to the bank. "Here's a fish..." I said as I set the dead fish on another large flint rock. "I'll go look for some berries, and maybe I'll find something to start a fire with... Not sure on that though."

Yeah, sorry about that, Hawks is a male in the story.

I was just wondering, for those of you who thought 'Over the Blogs' not particularly informative (or rather that it could have used more about each forum), would you read an article about an individual forum?... I think it would be pretty interesting.

I liked how 'The RuneScape Me' and 'Over the Blogs and Far Away...' seemed to sort of tie in with each other (how both are saying,in a way, to stop complaining and do something [at least the second one did]). Fictional article was meh. Would have liked a longer one.

But D&D makes perfect sense! AC: 10+DEX+Armor+Shield Attack bonus based on class/level + STR DMG class/level + str/dex on ranged HP gained at each level based on class

One major issue I find is that you can't instantaneously know that you're going to find a person... You have to make inferences on where they will be, perhaps introduce a standard time system to know characters places etc.? And then I presume we are allowed to double post?

Hmm... This is an interesting place. Seeing as this odd portal has given me this crude map (Can unquantifiable objects be characterized?... File that away for later.) I suppose I will head toward the river, if there are civilized peoples here that's where they ought to be... If they're not they should still be there... I now notice... My armor, my sword... It's gone. Perhaps I wasn't paying attention to the wizard; no, he would have told me that... Well at least I still have my amazing hat. If there are others here they'll laugh, but they will find I'm very useful to them. Upon closer inspection, the portal also left my tattooes and earring intact... I'm fairly sure he said those would go. Ah well. Toward the river we go, it appears to be north... First thing I'm going to do is make a decent map.

I'm fluent in English (as I'm American) and I'm taking German so at this point (at least my German teacher says so) I could hold my own if I get stuck in or visit Germany for a while.

Recently this has been happening again... My computers take a very long time to load a page and often become unresponsive. This happens both on my XP and my 2000. I am stuck with using Internet Explorer 6 (on the 2000) and 7 (on the XP) (which is probably the source of the problem). Are there ways to speed up page loading and not get (Not Responding) in IE?

I guess I'm voting for Connorb then.

Obviuosly, I'm here and will be here. I'm going to definitely be in the Lost Library (SO RATCHET YOU'D BETTER GET IT RUNNING 'CAUSE IT WAS AMAZING!) and Rusco. I'll probably do Zeplo (if I'm still in it, I don't remember) and Kardish. I will not be running Alanmark unless 2 or more people want to play.

Since it's been a while since we've been active, I'd like a roll call of sorts. Those of you who are still interested in the role-plays, please post here, and make sure to say which roleplays you're going to participate in. Rusco is going to be (hopefully ASAP) restructured to focus as a joint writing project, so please say if you're interested in that as well. If you're not planning on posting soon, but will in the future, post and say that as well.
