Facebook runs very slow, ways to speed it up?
That's my internet speed, I'll run it on the other computer as well. This is the XP laptop, it's connecting wirelessly. [hide=ping results][/hide] It's isolated to Facebook, I can use DeviantART fine, and it is similar to fb in that it has a lot of unnessecary crap in it. YouTube is fine as well. Also I can't download FireFox because my dad is dumb and thinks IE is the answer to everything, doesn't belive free programs work, etc. And I can't download anything because I have a restricted account on both computers. EDIT: I can't find the sticky you're referring to, do you just want me to run dxdiag? Here's the speed test from the 2000: [hide=ping results win2000][/hide] The 2000 is connected to the router with some sort of cable... sorry for the vagueness, I've got no idea how it works.

The World of Medical Advances
So what's to keep the T-cells from attacking your beta cells again and you being rediagnosed with diabetes? I have type 1 and I honestly don't think this is the way to go. My brain's not working properly at the moment though and I can't remember my alternate suggestion.

Facebook runs very slow, ways to speed it up?
When I log into facebook it takes forever to load the homepage (not the 'anyone can sign up' one, the personal homepage). Is there a way to speed up the page loading? On both of my computers it's slow, although it's faster on the XP than the 2000. On both I'm running IE (I think 6 on the 2000, and 7 on the XP) and Norton Internet Security 2003. Are there settings you can change in Facebook to get it to load faster or is there something I can do to get it to load faster on my computer?

Hawk's Graphics Shop (MODS Please lock, in new shared shop)
To dfchester: I'll see what I can do, my life has suddenly gotten more hectic so I'm probably going to close this for at least a few days. If I get the chance I'll make you another one.

Ehh... When are the entries due? Because I might enter if I have time.

Hawk's Graphics Shop (MODS Please lock, in new shared shop)
I tried to do them but they took out too much of the fractal and imo it didn't look very good... So I sort of put them in the background and changed the layers so the fractal stood out a little bit more. I can fix it if you want, but you'll probably have to wait until tomorrow for me to redo it.

A Tale from the Library (The Author is IN the House)
I realized I never posted in this thread... I guess the best stuff I write is my random poetry, so I could be sitting in a corner, reading some myths and legends, taking notes every now and then. Also you could throw in something about me having maps about that every once in a while I add to. As for clothing, probably a black tunic and khaki pants... And my jester hat. :D

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
So... This isn't really my problem but it's a strange one. My brother (he's 12 btw...) is apparently 'going out' with a girl in his grade. The thing is he didn't say anything about it although he's said before he knows she likes him. This is pretty much one-sided, as I'm friends with the 'girlfriend' on facebook, but he's not on facebook... And now I can't remember if he's ever said his thoughts about the girl. (she's pretty much in love with him...) Any thoughts on where to go with this? I'm probably going to let it slide, but do I ignore the girl or what?

Tip.It Times: 12 April 2009
The articles as a whole were some of the best I've read recently, although the Behind the Scenes one was lacking in the details and sort of seemed like filler, even though there were four articles. I'm not much for RS anymore so I didn't think the 26k trick (or whatever it is) was that big of a deal.

Coffee Shoppe: Punctuation 101
I'm a grammar nazi... So I'm nitpicking. Sorry but there were some things that stood out. Plus this is a punctuation guide, and it should have good grammar as well. Not the best example because it is a sentence. I would use something like "Bob is my best friend, His cat is yellow." that's more obvious. 'She' at the end shouldn't be capitalized. Occasionally has two l's... I know I don't spell perfectly but this one is kind of obvious. I would take off the 'of it' at the end, it adds unneeded stuff to the end. You need a space after the comma after Ares, and you may or may not add a comma after Posiedon. (generally a matter of preference unless your grammar teacher says otherwise) "My favorite Greek gods are Ares, Posiedon, and Zeus." In the possesion bit on apostrophes, it could be helpful to add a noun that changes when it's plural (men, women, children) because you do add 's to them. yelled doesn't need to be capitalized. On quotations, it's also acceptable to underline the title of the book if you're writing something and can't use italics. On numbers, if it's bigger than twenty-one you can use the numerals. Otherwise you usually write it out. Also numbers between 21-99 are hyphenated and then you hyphenate them if you are spelling them out. (one hundred fifty-six) Accents can be used throughout a book when a certain character has a certain speaking mannerism as well. And you may want to take into account differences in British and American grammar/spelling. I know in British literature (or older literature generally) lots of things have hyphens that nowadays don't. All in all a very good guide though.

A Nostalgic Look at Holidays Past
My favorite event was Christmas 2005. I liked the fact that there were 8 rewards and that you had to take some time to do the whole thing if you wanted all the rewards. I still wear my Tri-jester Hat all the time. I liked the Halloween 2008 event too although it wasn't as cool as the previous year's. I guess my favorite sorts of events are ones with multiple rewards that are neat and unique, like the hats/scarves and the skeleton suit/pumpkin head (Halloween 2006 I think). I think Jagex needs to go back to doing those instead of these awful and really unclear ones (Easter 2009).

You can't download songs on GH3, but you can on WT for a certain number of Wii Points.

April 8th 2009 - Easter 2009
Honestly this event was really dumb. It's more tedious and boring than the elves one from 2005 (which I did all of...) and now I'm stuck because the dumb imps don't say the machine's broken.

Why female players are underepresented in RuneScape?
Not many girls play MMOGs. Those that do probably play male characters, as I do. For kicks, one day I made a female character and got a ton of crap while playing (wanna be my gf, etc.) EDIT: I didn't make this clear; I'm a girl IRL.

Body piercing.. the new norm?
I don't have any, my earlobes are sort of deformed... One's way smaller than the other. But I might get the top part pierced a couple of times, I always thought that was cool. I wouldn't get anything more than that and maybe a nose stud thing because I think those are also kind of cool. I'm okay with lip/nose/ear/eyebrow/tongue piercings but anything else is pretty much pointless and also probably very painful.

Do you multi task??

Dangerous computer worm set to attack on April 1st
Do we know what time it's set to attack?... I'd assume something to the effect of 12:00AM GMT, but you never know.. And would it be worth not using the internet tomorrow at all if you're not sure if your computer has it?... We've got a Windows 2000 with tons of important stuff on it... It could have gotten the worm, right?

Some Help Would be Appreciated.
Yeah. I don't get how to properly use C4Ds and how to blend but you already know that. Are there specific good tutorials you can point me to?

Tip.It Times: 29 Mar 2009
I really liked the cooking article, I think that more 'random' articles would be great, and that those sorts of articles make a nice change from the RuneScape and fictional ones.

What's Wrong With Norton?
LiveUpdate takes forever (so does scanning, last time I did it it took at least a whole day... on an XP) but does not cause BSoD even on Win2000. Hogs a ton of space and slows boot times by at least twenty seconds... Otherwise a quite good AV.
