  1. As mercifull said , we dont really allow discussing or offering help in such issues here at tip.it because we cant be responsible for policing legal or ilegal activity outside these forums. and just a clarification You are legally allowed to MAKE a backup of the games you own , not download them.
  2. Yes it is indeed horrible that runescape was designed for an 800x600 screen resolution , as that was the standard, in 1994 :( I have sent Jagex queries about this like 4 times asking if they ever planned on enlarging the window and textures to accomdate a higher resolution , never got a response, not even an auto-response :( It's extremely horrid for me as i use 2048x1024 on my main system and 1400x1050 on my laptop , my character is like 1/300th of my screen , damage bubbles are unreadable they are so small :( I have to keep resetting my res just to play and it annoys me :(
  3. ya know Mercifull , if you werent a full time Off-topic'r , id stick a techhead emblem on you without even asking :P great advice :)
  4. whats a computer? I plugged my typewriter into my television and ended up here :?:
  5. Heres my opinion , firstly , you should make sure that your EasyMOD is configured correctly for your FTP, and that it is supported by your webhost to solve any future problems. But , as for the Extend color Rank MOD , this mod is VERY old in ways of compatibility , it was designed to work with phpBB 2.0.06 - 2.0.13 In order to correctly install this MOD , you are going to HAVE to do it manually. And its going to require a little extra bit of PHP knowledge as well , unless you plan on vewing the code changes for every version from .13 - to your current version (hopefully its .20) many of the lines that the MOD file is going to look for have been altered by updates and will not be found by easyMOD, which will in turn cause yet another error upon installing.

    exactly, rofl :P
  8. Merciful is right , like it or not and theres NO way that you have runescape running and your CPU usage is only 30% , Java applets will use ALL available processes that they can, the only possibility is you loaded the applet and had it sitting inactive at the login screen when you checked.
  9. 1998 , life was good then :) good job , met my love , new car , and officially started my bachelors program :)
  10. that particular domain you want to use in your signature will definately not be considered for removal from the censor for quite some time neither will the one the image is hosted on As Phil said , you're going to have to find another host to link to in your signature, sorry
  11. The mod in question if you have access to the ftp and can install it properly is Extend Rank Color which can be found here - http://www.phpbbhacks.com/download/3448
  12. I would defintely recommend trying all the options for java (found in a drop down menu on bottom of detail select page) and let us know the results , it would help to track the source of the problem :)
  13. The following needs to be removed IMMEDIATELY , unless you purposely installed surfpass , its purpose is to limit usage time and is almost guaranteed to be the source of your trouble O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [surfPass Client] G:\PROGRA~1\SurfPass\SPCLIENT[Caution: Executable File] /AutoRun O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [surfPass Server] G:\PROGRA~1\SurfPass\SPSERVER[Caution: Executable File] O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: g:\progra~1\surfpass\splsp.dll Winsock Hijacker O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: g:\progra~1\surfpass\splsp.dll Winsock Hijacker O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: g:\progra~1\surfpass\splsp.dll Winsock Hijacker O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: g:\progra~1\surfpass\splsp.dll Winsock Hijacker O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: g:\progra~1\surfpass\splsp.dll Winsock Hijacker O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: g:\progra~1\surfpass\splsp.dll Winsock Hijacker O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: g:\progra~1\surfpass\splsp.dll Winsock Hijacker O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: g:\progra~1\surfpass\splsp.dll Winsock Hijacker O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: g:\progra~1\surfpass\splsp.dll Winsock Hijacker O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: g:\progra~1\surfpass\splsp.dll Winsock Hijacker O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: g:\progra~1\surfpass\splsp.dll Winsock Hijacker O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: g:\progra~1\surfpass\splsp.dll Winsock Hijacker O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: g:\progra~1\surfpass\splsp.dll Winsock Hijacker O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: g:\progra~1\surfpass\splsp.dll O23 - Service: Firebird Server - DefaultInstance (FirebirdServerDefaultInstance) - The Firebird Project - G:\PROGRA~1\SurfPass\Firebird\bin\fbserver[Caution: Executable File] Make sure those entries are removed and the file is completely wiped from your system (uninstalled surfpass totally) Remember , only do so if SurfPass was not meant to be installed on the system. Oh , and stop using SS :P
  14. As most users may have noticed, their individual forum post count may have decreased by a significant number in the past few days, even by a rather large amount for some of our long time members. This is due to the removal of an old archive forum where posts where originally moved to when being pruned from the main public forums. This was done in the interest of keeping the forum database as compact as possible to maintain speed when browsing the forums. With the tremendous growth and constant updates to Runescape, our userbase has grown quite significantly with users looking for help and feedback with the vast number of features available within the game. The Admin Team would like to take this opportunity to point out that the standing of users on our forums should not be judged with how often they post, but by the quality of the content in the posts they make. We hope you can understand that this was done in the best interests of our users to accomodate future forum growth and performance. At this time we would like to ask that our users please refrain from sending staff members messages regarding this issue. Happy Browsing! - The Tip.It Admins
  15. The folder in questions is Winxp & Win9x - C:\WINDOWS\.file_store_32 Win2k - C:\WINNT\.file_store_32 remove it completely and let runescape download itself again ;)
  16. ROFL more then one person messaged me about this before they actually read it :D funny stuff
  17. I suggest you take a look at the Forum Rules and start abiding by them , as this will be your only warning. Albosky Tip.It Moderator
  18. The r\problem of being able to hear the sound effects but not the backround music in runescape is almost always the "MIDI (or SWSYnth) " processor being muted , as the sound effects are in WAV format and are not affected by this. Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Advanced (or double click the volume control in your system tray (next to the clock) Un Mute the MIDI(SWsynth) and the midi music for runescape should work.

I believe the program that control those settings for a dell laptop is called "AccessDirect" , try checking the settings for that program. I am pretty sure that it adds a tab to your "Control panel > keyboard" menu :) hope that helps :)
  20. The speaker system is nice , but good sound quality also depends on how and where you set the speakers up relative to where you will be sitting , and a decent soundcard/sound processor.
  21. Almost every "Backdoor" trojan that runs as a server and allows a client to gain control of your PC , does indeed have an "uninstall server" function , its actually what makes them "legal"
  22. As I can't be sure without actually seeing it , but it sounds like the heatsink for your CPU , most laptops(including mine) use a stationary heatsink with a fan that blows across it instead of directly at it like a conventional desktop processor. If you arent comfortable reattaching (it could have brackets, it could use thermal glue, they are all different) , I would VERY strongly suggest you take it to a local repair shop and have them fix it. If you do INSIST on using your laptop before the problem is remedied , I suggest you go to Control panel > Display > Screensaver , and click the "Power" button and set your 'Power Scheme' to Max Battery , if enabled this will force Intel SpeedStep to downclock the CPU. It may slowdown your processing time , but it will very greatly reduce heat output.
  23. Sue_Kitsu posted a better Claws Of Guthix picture , i just couldnt seem to screeny at the right time lol Guthix Saradomin Zamorak :)
  24. Personally I use and prefer McAfee SecurityCenter, doesnt hog any resources for me. But on to the subject at hand , I believe weezcake probably hit the nail on the head , It was 90% most likely removed when you rebooted the system. If McAfee found it once , it would have found it again when you ran the second scan.(assuming you performed a full system scan)
  25. spam prevention , thank god :)
