New Smilies To give our users a few more options on how to express their thoughts and feelings with style, a small assortment of new Smilies has been added. The current Smiley system has been altered a bit to accomodate up to 49 smilies before having to click "view more emoticons" to see the rest available. Hopefully the 2 added columns of smilies does not create a problem for users with lower monitor resolutions. Enjoy :) The Admin Team

Topic Viewcount Re-enabled As most users are aware , the "View count" on topics was disabled sometime ago to reduce the stress on our database server while other work was being performed. This feature has been enabled once again and has been silently updating for the past 3 days. Topic views on posts created in the last few weeks may not be 100% accurate. Any topic started after June 11th represents the actually amount of views a topic has had. Albosky Tech Admin

wooden_fire you wouldnt be able to edit an Administrators password using the Local Security Policy Manager unless you were already logged in as an Administrator

Apparently their bug fix wasnt correct either why on earth they added a database call to update the forums default config based on a user preference I'll never know , i just disabled it , no need for it.

I dont mind PMs but i get a good deal daily so my response might not be any faster then one you would get from alot of the users who browse this forum

I always forget that part hehe I usually suggest the "Learn in 21 days" series of books , they use a nice format that only focuses to the subject at hand , alot of times people get confused when learning scripts and code as the examples contain alot of stuff that hasnt been discussed yet the 21 days series avoid that almost everytime :)

My suggestion to anyone wishing to learn how to write their own software is similar runesmithie's buy a book read it read it again try the sample codes they provide experiment with the same while reading the book again and try to make small changes to how it works read the book again As for picking a language , its all about what you want to do and how you want to achieve it. Want a a basic application based on a user interface that is easy to use with simple functions, Visual Basic Want to work with a complex graphic API such as OpenGL or Direct3D ? - C/C++ Want an object oriented dynamic language that can perform almost any task such as database access, gui , 3d rendering, computation ? Python Buy a book Read it Read it again etc.. etc...

google for "bandwidth test" , theres many available out there :)
