Sorry , I had to think about it in my head , so I typed it out . Your second cousins wife had a baby , which makes the baby your second cousin , twice removed:P
  2. Was the laptop dropped or knocked over ? The drive could also have become dislodged from its socket. I know you said that you cant take the whole laptop apart , but hard drives in laptops arent really that complicated. As you said above , you can only get to the memory and battery , most likely through a little "door" on the bottom. Most laptop hard drives are usually just a slide in type "card" that is installed on the side of the unit and do not use a cable like on a desktop, usually held in place by a screw or two. It may be different in your case as everything and anything can be built differently , but laptop hard drives are a pretty standard replacement part so are usually easily accessible.
  3. erm 3/10 , dun remember you :P
  4. Archive of Wisdom Originally a sticky topic written by Leesters , catagorizing helpful guides posted by our users, has now become its own forum. This forum was created to allow users to post guides to many of the features and tasks within Runescape in one central place for easy access and searchability. The forum is open for public posting but users are urged to read the Rules and Guidelines within the forum before posting. Thanks again go out to Leesters for the original idea , and the orginal sticky has been moved there as a "Table of Contents", as well as all the still exisitant guides linked from within the post.

  6. More translated as "Cash MOD would lag the hell out of a forum with a database that is well over a gigabyte and 100k+ users" hehe
  7. Cash MOD is what the phpBB support team secretly refer to as the "add 114 database queries so users can spam and add another 114" Mod. no thanks :P
  8. as stated above , chkdsk /r from the recovery console should be able to repair any problems as it is able to scan the Master Boot Record(MBR) which can not be done from within Windows Open Device manager > select your hard drive > Right Click and Go to Properties> select the policies Tab > disable disk write caching on the disk This will hinder the drives performance a bit but who cares , you said it runs to keep IRC open :P This is a widely known offender for ALOT of hardware issues as laptops lose power more often then a desktop, especially when related to heat! .
  9. it has both , complaints and compliments
  10. I still have yet to have this ad displayed to me , so i am never able to get the exact advert url to give to Silverion I'll ask if he can possibly just get rid of smiley central because the ad seems to annoy enough users to warrant removal
  11. When people actually READ the rules , maybe , but they dont , so no
  12. Thats how topic watching is designed , what good would sending you private messages instead do ? Fill our database with a bunch of useless info. Personally , I hate topic watching and would remove the whole system, but yet again , people would whine....
  13. ah , now I kinda get it Tip.It staff has way too much to do then run around in game verifying peoples "identity" to add them to a huge list of names. If somebody lies about what their Runescape name or stats are, who cares...
  14. #2 is a MOD , search phpbb's mod database for color groups
  15. Eventually , yes , Tip.it will most likely migrate to phpBB3 upon a "gold" release. As stated above , alot of the MODs and fixes I have implemented are already available within Olympus , yes some may need a few some adjustments to suit our needs but thats always expected. http://area51.phpbb.com/docs/features.html I have been watching olympus' progress closely for quite some time as I am usually active on phpBB's support forums and am pretty familiar with the system already, although I personally believe the permissions system is a complete cluster(you know the rest). And yes , they do have plans to carry over database info into the new system and I would adjust it to carry over additional info that was needed . If a converter did not become available , then we wouldnt bother switching at all :)
  16. I am going to guess that you are talking about stats signatures. its on our horribly long list of "maybe someday" but they seriously are a huge drain on bandwidth. Other sites may be able to pull it off without damaging their servers bandwidth usage , but unfortunately we use ALOT more bandwidth then most fansites ever will.
  17. I'd have to ask , all our server is belong to him
  18. or maybe your own ISP was acting up ? Theres way too many things that can come into play regarding a website loading slowly. As far as i can see , theres nothing on the server end that would cause half of our site to load slowly and not the other. It also depends on how active the forum is , if theres 200+ users online and a good deal of them are all submitting posts , then yes , the posts table in the database could slow down a bit while it processes and stores all that info.
  19. Theres no such thing as a "tip.it archive" Posts that are in forums that are worth saving stay in the forums, posts that so called "expire" such as old goals and achievements that arent relevant and maintained are moved to a forum that is outside public view as a temporary placeholder. The forum in question is often pruned of old and irrelevant posts which removes them completely. Basically anything that isnt worth searching is removed. Things that are considered worth searching would be discussion of updates , or guides to quests, help topics, etc.. Depending on how Silverion would feel about the disk space(which isnt really a problem for us) , I suppose I "could" begin a read only archive by exporting the current database into a backup and setting up a forum system to read it. But who knows...
  20. As a followup to our recent announcment regarding emails, our SMTP server problems have been resolved and emails sent from the forum should now be properly delivered to your email. Notifications for private messages being sent and replies to topics that are being watched should now work properly , as well as activation emails for newly registered accounts and password retrievals. Some users may recieve multiple emails regarding messages they have already read , this is due to the backlog of messages being processed. We would also like to take this opportunity to remind our registred users to add the address "[email protected]" to your allowed list of senders in your email program , this will help prevent messages that you want to recieve being filtered into your junk mail or spam folder by your email provider.
  21. Theres no way to skip it . what kind of laptop is it? I know dell puts the Microsoft sticker with the product key on the bottom of the laptop itself , and Im pretty sure a few other companies do the same or similar.
  22. Have you even tried checking your browser settings?
  23. Liquid cooling is by NO means loud. My p4 gaming system is water cooled and you cant hear a thing. Sound control is a benefit of liquid cooling as you can use a few slower smaller fans on an aluminum radiator as opposed to one huge fast and noisy fan on a small heatsink. As for spillage, build it right and you will never experience any leaking.
  24. was an oversight on my part , i'll fix it I guess
  25. Selling images is not allowed here.
