  1. The Russians didn't lose any bombs in the Collapse. In fact, the first priority of all governments was to secure their nuclear arsenals and submit inventories to Moscow. All the missile heads were loyal enough to Moscow to keep a powerful grip on the nuclear stockpiles. The Collapse of the USSR was not that chaotic on a government level. To be honest, the government was run just like it was before, except with a President instead of a General Minister.

And it's also the network's, for airing a TV-MA program at primetime. Like I said, move it to 11PM and it's fine.
  3. What channel is it even on? My Uni has odd channels. I thought the thing was starting at 7 CST (3 hours from now!)

Do you blame the show or the parents? I mean they do give that HUMONGOUS warning about it being adult content. So you can't really say it is without warning. Besides, the parents shouldn't let their children watch it. It is up to the parents. Blame the show or the parents? I never blamed the show. My only problem with it is timeslot. That's more of Comedy Central's problem. I only said I thought the show had gone too far at some points.

Double Barrelling is the way to go. Say if your name was Smith and your husband's Ticonderoga, you would be Jane Ticonderoga-Smith. Of course, normally I would suggest the patriarchical surname (or matriarchical if your culture suggests).
  6. Gah, your right. Skimming Bible now and Hebrew is used as the language and name of the people, but the religious types are referred to as Jews. Thanks for the clarification!

When did he say (or imply) that you were a self-righteous Christian Zealot? I think it was somewhere around: I grew up on Tom and Jerry, the Simpsons, and my personal favorite: Animaniacs. I am by no means sheltered. The thing is, younger children shouldnt see South Park. I'd be happy if they moved it to like 11-12 at night. Right now it's on at 8 PM! Move it to a timeslot where less children and more TV-MA watch and I'd be happy.

Hah. I simply answer the questions the OT gave and I get flamed. Geez Tigra, can you ever play nice with others? Apparently anyone who doesn't agree with you is a self-righteous Christian Zealot.
  9. Hebrew is the race, I am sorry. Jew represents a denizen of the Kingdom of Judea. Which of course does not exist anymore. :(
  10. As I said, he doesn't get days off. He might take a little free time during the day to ride horses, but the President never gets a true vacation. He works 365 days a year.

In Australia it is rated M15+ :-k But do you really think that southpark is the one and only cause for this type of behaviour from kids? I dont think sheltering children will do anything for them. I have watched the show since i was 10 years old but i dont walk around trying to kill Kenny. OT: I love southpark sooo much. I couldnt say my favourite episode, i love them all! No, i don't think they have gone to far. Everything they have showed is funny, as long as you don't take things to heart. I dont see how people can get offended by shows like this, i love it when comedies make fun of Australians, its hilarious. Oh btw, you should put http://www.southparkstudios.com as a reference on the front page, its a great site with everything you need to know! Never said it was the only reason. But it is a symptom. I'm just sick of the really crude programs being cartoons. Sure, we may get the jokes....but the younger children will say "look! A Cartoon!" Not to mention they sell Southpark stuff for children anyways.
  12. The Bible never refers to the Jews as Jews unless it is said by a gentile such as a Roman. Throughout the Bible, the Jews refer to themselves as Hebrew. The language, faith. Note that Moses led the HEBREWS out of Egypt, not the Jews. The reason "Jew" is used a lot in the New Testament is because many of the sermons are given to gentiles. My name is Hebrew. The Bible was written in Hebrew. Jew really wasn't used that much until the Great Diaspora and even more since the Holocaust.

I really liked the last Idol though. Still thought the girl should have won, but the guy was amazing too.
  14. Err...to like a war, a soldier is a sociopath. War is their job. And it's frustrating to be away from your family while politicians keep you there. He wants the military to control the war so that they can finish it faster and get home sooner. Which is the goal of every soldier. To make it home alive.
  15. I like it. It's not really a partisan issue, though. We do need to hunker down and kick some butt though. Right now nothing is being done.

I know parents who set up the chip or satellite but their kids go over to friend's houses to watch it. While certainly I will make sure offensive junk like that won't be shown to my kids in my house, and even in chaperoned houses, they will still be able to find someplace to watch it. Yes, parents are guilty for some kid's shortcomings. But parents can't be everywhere at once. The simple fact is you can not simply censor everything because someone thinks it is bad for a kid. Also, if you actualy watched some of the episodes they generaly have a moral at the end (even if a bit ironic). Hell, the episode where jesus boxed satan even showed that everyone lost out because they did not have faith in jesus. As I said two of my posts ago, there are morals. But the only people that would understand them are the TV-MA crowd. Younger kids are not going to get the morals, they are just going to laugh at the potty humor and think it's cool to swear.

I'm sure I've seen that name...uh...somewhere on the internet before >.< *Google's Name* Oh my. Well, at least we know why she is his first choice. :uhh:

Yet you refer to children as  You caught me in a moment of release. I love kids, but they shouldn't be exposed to this junk. Parents don't use the V-Chip enough. I caught an 11-year old wearing a Cartman shirt smoking once when student teaching. As I ripped it out of his mouth, he told me to "F*** Off!" He got away scot-free because the school didn't want to punish him. Those are the kids I have a hard time dealing with. Sorry for shocking you. The show's intended audience might get that irony, but the 12-year olds will not.

The new Simpsons (it was family friendly a decade ago!), Family Guy, American Dad, just about every other "comedy" show out there. Yeah Bubsa, South Park is not alone. I'm sick of producers disguising all this innapropriate crap as cartoons.
  21. Barihawk replied to rushrock's topic in Off-Topic
But the show portrays children, and children will watch. Whether their parents want them to or not. And unfortunately, the immature brats do imitate them.
  22. Barihawk replied to rushrock's topic in Off-Topic
And I wonder why kids are cursing more and more earlier and earlier. I'm a teacher, and it saddens me to see children acting like the Southpark show.
  23. Your parents waited two hours?! When you have chest pains and a tingling arm, its always best to get to the ER first and ask questions later. My first reaction would have been "Heart Attack!" Never hesitate to go to the hospital for serious pains.
  24. To add on to Ambassador: There is no burning Hell mentioned in the Bible. The only "lake of fire" is reserved for the AntiChrist, his Prophet, and those who took the Mark by deliberately betraying God. All that happens at the end of the world. No matter who you are or what you believe, you have the chance to stare God in the face at the Final Judgement and choose. Until then, the Faithful go to Heaven and the rest simply wait for the End of Days. This belief is held both by Christians and Hebrews (note that I use the actual name of the religion, not "Jew" which really is an odd term. The Bible always refers to the Hebrew Faith).

Uh...lets see... Saying Sh** 100 times in 30 minutes. Explicit sex between men on basic cable with no warning. FFS, little kids could find that. Christ vs Satan boxing match. That singlehandedly pissed off my entire family. Endless potty jokes. What the heck is so funny about watching someone throw up and crap? Worse? Seeing people crap out of their mouths. South Park is not satire. That's just an excuse. It's just pure and simple Beavis and Butthead with some forethought.
