  1. You mean Meet your Meat? That's required watching in all Agricultural classes. Then you go on a field trip to a burger joint!
  2. I love how the UN will come and complain about humanitarianism in Iraq, but when thousands of people are actively being eradicated, they don't do anything. It just shows how powerless the UN has become. Twenty years ago we would have had blue-helmets all over Darfur with G-36 Peacemakers. Bosnia was the UN's last foray into active peacekeeping. Makes you wonder where all that money we give them goes to. Certainly not into troop training and weapons. Or even aid packages, for that matter.
  3. My friends surprised me for my 18th. They got my parents to take me to some cheap pizza place (as they had an early Bible study). My parent's just ditched me and said "happy birthday!' (don't worry, I got a proper dinner from them later) and I spent the evening with my friends at the cheap pizza place (as it should!) Best birthday I've ever had.
  4. My family has a history of diabetes and I am at risk, so they won't take my blood. Which stinks, because I am otherwise very healthy and would love to sell plasma for spending cash.

I don't use anything save some soap when I shower. I never get acne.
  6. While it isn't perfectly flat, in a small tube (ie a water level) it is drawn to the gravity of the earth. Water levels have been, are, and ever shall be the most accurate levelling technology. Whether it's a ruler with a small tube or a sophisticated laser setup, levelling always boils down to an air bubble in a tube of water.
  7. Something that heavy has to give hat hair.
  8. Star Wars vs Star Trek to the music of Flash Gordon. How could this not win the internet?
  9. I can't drink the water out here (it's so full of calcium that it is nasty). I buy a 5 gallon jug of Ozarka for 2.40 US and drink that.
  10. It's nasty. Plus, most tap water has more calcium than a bottle of fiji. Especially water collected from the water table as opposed to resoivours (I can't spell the word, sue me).
  11. Are you Iraqi? Because Iraq put him to death, not the US. Yeah? If people feel comfortable "breaking the small rules", it makes it easier to break a big one. Littering destroys the environment, speeding puts lives at risk.
  12. You can flood your system before the small intestine can absorb it. People have been known to drown in their own tissues. This is nothing new.
  13. There was nothing that really could have been done "right" with Saddam. If we let him live in a jail cell, eventually he could run resistance cells. We can't post a guard to watch him 24 hours a day without angering the resistance. Killing him also angers the resistance. It's a lose-lose situation. At least he met the laws of his own nation.
  14. Friday night the temperature dropped from 70 degrees to 20 in less than an hour. Now, it's 18 degrees with a wind chill of 11. My hall's dining room is closed, so I tried to walk to an off-site location. It got too cold, so I tried to drive. After spending 20 minutes trying to de-freeze my car, I gave up and ordered pizza. Yes, I am thoroughly affected.
  15. CTP, it wont increase your performance, but it will increase your muscle durability (meaning you wont get tired so fast). Most importantly, it stretches the vital muscle of the body, the heart.
  16. I haven't been able to clear everything from my head, but I do meditate through prayer. It's called a Prayer Labyrinth. You close your eyes and pray, then walk the labyrinth. Whether it's God guiding you through the maze, or the fact that meditating has heightened your senses allowing you to follow the floor plan we may never know. It relaxes me, gives me assurance, and gives me a better day. Fun Fact: Most Labyrinths only have a diameter of 15 feet. The paths in them stretch for almost a mile!
  17. Whilst I ignore this thread, I shall go out and eat a gigantic tasty hamburger.
  18. In terms of CGI, DS9 wins. But of the two listed, the Remastered TOS has CGI that blows away the Next Generation.
  19. Pit bulls, German Shepard's, Rotweillers, and Dobermans are as placid as any other dog. When the owner mistreats them and starves them, then they turn mean.
  20. I doubt their claims are true - they are very easy claims to make when you know that the relatives will never be checking to see if they're getting what they paid for. What's more, decomposition happens faster in tombs above ground due to the higher temperatures. There's an episode of Penn & Teller - Bullfaeces that debunks many of these myths concerning funerals/caskets/embalming. By tomb, I was describing the Concrete and marble berth that the casket is placed into. It is still placed the traditional 6 feet underground.

    I would never take it.
  22. Lubbock. The home of Buddy Holly. Rich museums, a beautiful university, and some decent culture. Bad sides: Unless you don't mind repeats, it can get boring. Good things: Many songs have been written about Lubbock. The King Cotton March by John Phillip Sousa. Just about any song by Buddy Holly, since they all take place there. Lubbock is the city in "The Day The Music Died" "Happiness is Lubbock, Texas in your rearview mirror" by Mac Davis Among many others. Lubbock is also home to the largest Rock and Roll museum in the United States.
  23. The Original Series for the win.

:o Very very cool! Are you aiming for elementry, middle, or highschool? High school, although my training will probably be in a middle school.

I start student teaching tomorrow, and within 2 years I will be teaching on my own.
