1. You'd need to do it with a serverside language like PHP, which, since you aren't sure of forms and cookies and other smaller html and js basics, will be a very big task for you... IMO, the best way would be to use a mysql database to store the scores and then read it using php...

Precisely. We're just interested in the /runescape part :P /rsc precious, you must not forget /rsc ;)
3. You dont need to know how he gets the stats from the hiscores to help him insert them with GD, do you? We're just talking about variables which like $attack or $defence, which he needs help inserting into a sig...
4. ... would you try to compete with other sites about users and "getting first" instead of trying to provide quality guides? I've browsed some of the help sites lately, "digging up dirt", and some of them go to extreme lengths to get guides released before us (and others), getting more users, even stealing users, or making it look like they have more users... I know i can't mention these sites by name, but some of you prob have a fair idea what which i speak... It just seems weird to me that sites would put aside quality and professionalism just to look better than other sites, but is this a commonly done thing among websites? of cause you'd want to be big and respected, but doing stuff like registering domains that might steal users, adding bad reviews of other sites to pleases like alexa (and so on), or even manipulation search results and rankings (but various means), it just seems so extreme, or is it just me? Please refrain from flaming other runescape fansites, that's not the intention, i'd rather want to know if this is commonly done throughout the web
5. You cannot upload pictures with html, you need to use a server side language like PHP to do that, or at least to move it from the temp folder to the final destination... There's no html commands that can do that... So tell your friend to learn PHP instead ;)
6. From me ;) sry guys, but i would actually prefer that abomb kept the code for himself, at least so far... And yes, you need to use PHP GD, i dont really think there's any easier or better ways of doing it...
7. You should donate it to the tip.it crew/staff... We use millions of gp researching stuff for the users, i remember when i had to re-view the magic guide once, i spend almost 500k buying armour/runes/staffs, and this is how it is all the time with the site crew. Lol, just joking ;) We do use a lot of money, but it's that worth, and you guys help just as much when you post stuff here on the forums :D Best of luck to you all, hopefully the winner will get some dreams to go true :D
8. Huh? I first posted this in General p2p... :? I found it dumped on the website dis and sugg board :P It's in the right place now though :)
9. Very good idea :D Can't wait to see this.. *bookmarks*
10. And this has exactly what to do with the Website [Not Forum] Discussion & Suggestions-board? Moved to Runescape Discussions... Man i'd wish ppl could learn to post in the right forums :P
11. Hopefully you will all use the Tip.It RSS feed once it goes up (with some other major updates... No ETA yet, but it will come, i promise)
12. If you want a great host, i'd suggest http://www.webhostfreaks.com - they're a bit more expensive, but the server and service is just exelent, have been there for 8 months now, and haven't had one problem that weren't resolved esily - for the most part i was the reason for the problems, but they helped me anyways :D Great staff, and very very state of the art servers :D If you're willing to pay extra for greatness, go with them :)
13. I know this isn't the media market, and i'm not asking for one, i just wanna know if it would be a waste of time to post for one... If so, i need to get to work in rs me thinks :P
14. I think i'm still around  But to be honest i don't remember you, hope that's not to disapointing (sry!!).. And as much as i'd like a free sig, it's really not needed :D The kind words you said are more than enough for me
15. What you mean by thatFor the Tip.it news... Sorry i didn't make that clear enough... can be made easily depending that all the news post has the same template. it is quite easy to do it with php to. here is what you can do <? header("Content-type: text/xml"); header("Pragma: public"); header("Cache-Control: must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0"); ?> put that on top of the php page now you need to declare the main title of the RSS W3Schools http://www.w3schools.com W3Schools Web Tutorials now you do your usual php while which continues looping into these field below query title here query link here the post here now close the whole script with this Know how it works ;) But there's no real reason for it if it's not gonna be needed anywayz..
16. What you mean by thatFor the Tip.it news... Sorry i didn't make that clear enough...
17. Is this something you guys would support on Tip.it? It most likely wont be online before a couple of months if we deside to make one, but do you think it would be needed, or just a waste of time?
18. Please post any bad advertisements here... Copy/paste this advertising report form into your reply and replace the explanation text: ADVERTISER: Which company is advertising on behalf of the bad ad? LANDING URL: Copy the full ad URL (right click the link and select copy link location) TYPE: Top Banner OR Side Banner SITE: What is the name of the site/product being advertised? MY LOCATION: Which country do you live in? REASON: What is wrong with the advertisement? Example: Easiest way to report an advert for a non-RuneScape/FunOrb game: Click the advert and you will be redirected to the game's page Record the URL that is now in your address bar Use this URL as the "LANDING URL" under the report Please report any adverts which advertise games other than Jagex Games (RuneScape, FunOrb, etc.). This includes anything from single player games to much larger games such as WoW. Jagex has expressed disapproval of fansites showing ads selling Runescape gold for money, and Tip.It has ALWAYS tried to comply with this policy - please DO report such ads and we will take action ASAP.
19. And about the selection thing... Also, make ID a primery key field..
20. If you make it $article = int($_GET["article"]); instead, it'll make convert the $_GET value into a number... Any text would get the number 0, so if a hacker would try to use a inject here, it wouldn't work... It's the same method used on tip.it, and we havent been (that way) hacked yet ;)
21. Firestorms :P
