discussion regarding jagex's latest poll
looking from a coders point of view i would say thats it's highly unlikely that they can't look this up them selves - They have the information added to the databases, so they must be able to do it somehow, it's just a matter of coding the interface for it, which they might not have done yet, seeing that there's no real point for it...

Guide to quest EXP updated 14 nov 2006 (AOW discussion)
For all the ppl saying that this should be on Tip.It... It is on my to-do list, however there are still some things infront of it, but i will come to it, i promise :D It just takes time... Sry :( What i want to make it a way to make it update automatically, instead of us having to edit it each time a new quest is made... which is why it's taking some time :P Sry for the bump btw, hope you dont mind...

Jagex's New DIDJA KNOW'S(Message of the Week)
lol its exactly whay i tougth the second i saw it lol Tip.It is on his way to become the official Fan-Site 8) Again :P Or at least get our link back on rs.com, wouldnt hurt them much  ANYWAYS, imo it's kinda sad... yes, it might be helping a lot of people, but if you ask me you should be able to select not to get this screen at all... A simple "Welcome to runescape, you last logged in from HOSTMASK" in the chat box would suit me much better, seeing that i know when i last set my passwords etc... Note that i'm not saying they should kill this screen, just make it optional wether or not you want to see it... As for the tips, i don't really know... I only see them as being did you know stuff from the actual game code, like the one with no failing with superheating for iron - It's stuff they've coded into the game... I'd rather have it like the tip.it times had it at one point, stuff like the Shilo Village shortcut (by Leesters), whats currently going on like the cosmics price tip (by Adam007), what cape is best (by weasel) and so on...

Surprised no one has made this topic yet...

NEW TO P2P GUIDE, FOR NEW MEMBERS! ( FINISHED)
Way to take a compliment. All you've done is just listed a bunch of P2P items and quests. How is that a guide to P2P? At the very most, it's a reference, which isn't very useful to the new player. If this was some attempt at recognition, well, you failed. Easy bubsa... Read my reply, and read his to mine... It is indeed getting 'bettered', CC is better than flaming ya know ;) And that pretty much goes for the rest of ya as well, deff not only bubsa...

How to decide on a website?
http://www.phantom-mullet.com/?p=23 - Menu's and navs can be made just like the reply box there - It doesn't need time to catch up or anything like that... But i do know the kind you're speaking of, they are truely anoying...

NEW TO P2P GUIDE, FOR NEW MEMBERS! ( FINISHED)
Please don't take this the wrong way, i for one know how much time it would take to make this, but for me it's more like a list than a guide... IMO, a guide would tell people how to start the new skills, and walkthrough of what happens when you go through the members gates for the first time, which quests would be best to complete first (IE. to start herblore, to use the dwarven shortcut under the wolf mountain etc etc). Furthermore, you need to think of the avg. normal person joining members... They aren't going to be lvl 90 with 120 mil in the bank, but rather lvl 50 with 100k, so something like dragon armour and barrows trips might not be needed, at least not to the extend you mentioned in the list(/guide). However, this is a very good start, if you do not wish to make an extention to the list to make it an actual guide, someone making a guide at some point would be able to use this information as somewhat of a foundation to the guide. If you ever thought that making a guide was easy, think again... on a personal example, i used almost 2 weeks researching and gaming to make the treasure trail guide for Tip.It, a quest which takes 1 hour to complete, might take 3 hours to write, it's not an easy job.

Whats wrong with my stats?
http://hiscore-web.runescape.com/lang/e ... r1=Chams10 ^ all of those "Not ranked" means that neither Tip.It, runeweb or any other sites can get your stats... We pull them from the hiscores - not from the game itself, so if you're not on the hiscores, we can't tell you your stats :(

How to decide on a website?
FRAMES!!!!! Welcome to 1999 how about adding some and clipart gifs :D What do you have against frames? They're very useful for nav bars so that you don't have to scroll all the way back up a long page to go to another section of a site. Of course, you have to code the frames so that the grey separating bar is invisible and mimics the background of the site , so that it looks good. Just make the nav bar float in a div on the site... looks soo much better than multiple scroolbars.. :D

highscores
First of all; Calm down, it's normal for people to make mistakes, and i'm sure that you some time along those almost 3k posts have made a mistake as well... This is a well known problem with the rendering of CSS in firefox (for the first problems you posted), and the laggyless and poority of IE (second set of pics you posted). If you want this without it messing up, use the downloadable client Jagex has, apparently it's the only place it works correctly (even though i havent tested in Opera, i would assume that it'll have the same problems as FF). It's some times very hard to code truely and perfectly, i do agree that Jagex shouldnt have released this with the bugs in it, but it can sometimes be hard scripting/coding perfectly. And of cos it gets noticed and gets a hell of a lot of topics (i believe i've seen it posted a few times before, not to flame you at all) when Jagex makes these kinda mistakes, than if it had been Tip.It who had done it... But then again, it would also have been fixed and tested on Tip.It :P

Have you built a computer?
Only think that didnt work when i built mine was that the led lights (the ones that indicate that the comp is on and the hdd is working) wouldnt work... was just a matter of moving the inputs around :)

How to decide on a website?
That's absolutely ridiculous. It might be true if you're gonna be running a massive site but for the sort of person who would come here to ask how to find a good host it is completely unnecessary to script and code their own site and not use a CMS. If you count on being successful, you'll only run into problems if you reley on premade systems... + the coding experience you'll get while making these is much more worth than simply clicking download and install... But yes, to start out with you could just get a free blog at blogger.com or something like that... It's just the rules i base my work on (and everything on Tip.It for that matter), noone says you need to follow them... But just to avoid giving a false impression to a new webmaster, we all feel the need to correct you :P. Nothing against you or your opinion. But then again, given your opinion, then why does tip.it run PhpBB? :P Just a thought. Because people are so used to phpbb :D And because using half a year on coding a forum would simply be a waste of time when you think about that these forums only hold like 1/15th of the users using Tip.It - I'd rather use half a year coding up something which benefits our 2.5 mil users on the main site, than the 70k here on the forums :D Simply a matter of prioritising... :P Well, from my experience i've just seen time after time that when you make the stuff yourself, and put some time and effort into it, insetad of installing phpnuke (for example), you'll get a much better result, the uniqueness, user friendliness and customising - All end up being better. And once again, learning how to code when you want to be a webmaster is deff a plus. But then again, this is just my oppinion ;)
