74C can still damage the processor. It's quite hot. The temperature should be between 30 and 60. At 60 you can already notice the processor losing it's processing capability because of the heat. At least with an AMD, my i3 never went over 35. If the laptop's still under warranty, call them. If not, go to a computer repair shop and have your computer completely cleaned of dust.

Can you let us know if there is an entry for RuneScape in your Hosts file? You should be able to open it using notepad. If there is an entry, can you let us know what it is? Is there a lot of dust in your case? It there isn't any dust, then we can rule out overheating.

The Acer one is defenitely the best here, better processor, better graphics card. You don't want to stick to the Pentiums like the Packard Bell, Pentiums are ancient and not worth it at all. Also I believe the video card in the Acer one is better than the one in the Packard Bell. If you want we can try and find something even better, but I will personally need to know which websites can ship there.

Never use a vacuum cleaner on a computer if the vacuum hasn't been specially made for it. A can of air should do the trick.

Are you sure you know how to build a computer? To make it boot from the CD you just have to make it the primary drive in the BIOS.

Not really. I always left my battery on my laptop, even if most of the time I use the laptop when it's plugged in a wall outlet and after 2.5 years the battery still lasts 3 hours. It initially lasted 4 hours.

I would never go for a Thinkpad. That's what the college rented to the students when I was there, and the motherboards in there die pretty fast. I did 2 years of college with my now over 2.5 year old Asus laptop. By that time, half the Thinkpads had to have their motherboards replaced. Any laptop that has drains in the keyboard for water will be good for spills.

Intel GMA as graphis card is very bad. You'll be lucky if you can play Starcraft 2 on that laptop. You'd be better off looking for laptops on sites like newegg.com, you're going to have a better laptop for a better price.

If the prices are the same as online, it's better in person, but if the price is higher in person than online, then it's online. One big thing to look at though is the warranties the places offer you. And you won't need an extended one, just look at the default ones.

If you go with Asus you won't regret it. Is it Starcraft or Starcraft 2 that you play? Also you could've just force shut down the computer as soon as it happened and let it try for 48 hours, would've still been like new.

AMD is coming out with a new processor. Supposedly it's going to outperform the equal intel processors, but that's just what I got wind from my friend about. Let's see how it goes.

Asus is the brand to go. Sony I'm not sure seeing the declining quality of some of the other stuff they make. And the bad HP quality applies only to the older HP laptops, their new laptop models have a pretty good quality imo. Hell, my brother's new HP laptop produces less heat than my 2 year old Asus which by the way I keep clear of dust.

As far as I know, it's illegal to own a handgun in Canada. I think the only guns allowed are for hunting. I do have to agree on the media hypothesis, all I'm seeing on the U.S. news is muders and that kind of stuff. We almost never see that in the news here in Canada. Hell, we don't even need to lock the doors.

Good, vid, simple explanation. Definitely planning to switch ISP's/phone companies if any company here starts with that...but like he said, soon...ALL companies may start doing it, which doesn't help much. I have ad block as well and I don't have that problem.

I don't think it's on Jagex's side as I have never had this problem, although I'm not on the latest version of Firefox.
