  1. Just so you know what you are getting yourself into.
  2. Wrong... If your spell inflicted 8 damage, you get 28 exp (12+8x2).
  3. Never tried it myself, but be aware that it will cost a lot! This is from another topic...
  4. This is from the tip.it quest guide on ghost ahoy. [hide] 15: Dragontooth island Now go back into the ghost-city with the map. Take your spade from the bank, keep the map and take 25 ecto-tokens (you can use a Ring of Charos(a) to negotiate the price down to 10 ecto-tokens). Go to the east to find a small rowing boat. Talk to the captain and take a trip to Dragontooth island.[/hide]
  5. Treating others the same way as I would like to be treated doesn't really work for me... In general, when I'm not training I try to be nice and help people that ask me, but if I'm training somewhere and after a while someone comes in and starts killing the monster I was killing, I'll do whatever it takes to get them to leave besides breaking the rules, meaning I start annoying the hell out of them... Treat others as you would like to be treated. It's a nice idea, but it just doesn't work for me. How would I like to be treated? Let's say I'm killing blue dragons in the hero's guild. Someone logs in and wants to kill blue dragons too. Since I was here before him/her I would like it if that person leaves for another world. But how many people really do that? I'd say not even 1 in 10 people (according to my experience). Now let's say I was looking for a world to train. If I were to treat others as I would like them to treat me I would keep hopping till I found an empty world. But do people do this for me? No, they don't. Why should I be nice to them, when they are never nice to me? It's an annoying circle and I don't really see an end to it. What if I am nice to them and keep hopping. They aren't going to change. It's a very pessimistic view and I'm not really doing my part in trying to make the community better, but the fact is I have already given up my hope for a better community in Runescape, why waste time on them when it's not going to make a difference? How do I know it's not going to make a difference you ask? Because I've tried, I have tried very hard to make at least some people see that being nice is very rewarding in its own way and for some people it really helped! They turned into kind people, but that is just a few people amongst the millions... It just doesn't make a difference and to me it's not even worth trying anymore, end of story. Edit: I'm not saying that all men and women in Runescape are bleeps. I believe Runescape has a core of good people, players that care about the community and the game and are generally nice to almost anyone, but the core is not really what I would call huge (in my opinion that is).
  6. I don't find it unfair either, I've been around since classic too. Runescape evolves and training becomes faster and faster. It's not that I hate newer players because they didn't have to train in classic, but.... I do find it sad. I find it sad what Runescape has become and is becoming, easy. In the past I would look with wonder at someone who had 99 att, str, hp or def and respect them for their accomplishment, not so anymore. It's just a normal sight, something you see hundreds of times each day while traveling through Runescape. These days Jagex feels the need to pump out new content every single week. Because of this I'm not suprised that they make it easier. I think Jagex will continue to do this until there are almost no hard skills left and that doesn't give me a lot of hope for the future... At least for now I still enjoy the game, but I wonder if that will last for long.
  7. At level 99 (melee stat) one point gives 560xp. With the 10% bonus, 616xp per point. At 30 games an hour the experience is 18460 per hour at level 99. Is that right? o_O If so, how are people saying it's still faster? 4 points per game for 100+ players? And that's not even counting the exp you get for killing the monsters...
  8. Is it faster because you don't have to switch worlds anymore or something? I don't see how it could eb faster otherwise. :?
  9. I highlighted the best parts. Go to the sticky of the rsof for more of these goodies  . Hehe, I loved that. But uh, might I make a small correction? In my opinion the part I highlighted is the best (green is my own text).
  10. Hmmm, I still have to do that quest, but never bothered because I hear about this problem a lot. People have tried to get temple building worlds up, but as far as I know it wasn't a great succes. Maybe your best bet is to try on world 2... Sorry I couldn't really be of any help.
  11. I think it depends. What is it you're most interested in? If you are looking for prestige, then something hard like slayer, agility or runecrafting is for you. Want something really fast, go for firemaking or fletching. Looking for something fast that also makes you a nice sum of money, I'd say hunter (chinchompa's or whatever they're called). In the end, I advice hunter. Since I've started playing runescape again this week after 172 days I can't say I have experience with hunter (lvl 8 thanks to an exp lamp :P). but I have always been lurking at tip.it in the time I was away, so I am knowledgeable about it. The advantages for hunter are: Semi-fast. It won't be as fast as fletching, but it can be done in a week or two if you play a lot. Profitable. I think you make something like 25-30 mill gaining 99 hunter through chinchompa's. Fun. I have no experience with hunter, but I hear people say it's a fun skill to train. Of course this depends on you, so you'll have to decide if the fun-factor really applies to you.
  12. It's 19 isn't it? The max damage is affected by your magic lvl, i think every 10 lvls the max goes up by 1, but maybe it's possible to hit 20 with a pot?
  13. If you're posting some sort of guide on a forum, I have a right to question its contents... I like that you're making a guide to help people, but this is not really much of a guide. There are a lot of great guides in the archive of wisdom, take them as an example and try to write a more extensive one.
  14. And now you're telling me you didn't say that? Btw, if you really want to advice people on how to amke money, just tell them to craft nats or something...
  15. Pffff, even if all you did was catch tuna and make them into tuna potatoes and sold them for 2k each to make 1 bill (not saying you did that, but just for extreme comparison), you would have 40.000.000 fishing exp only from fishing that much tuna... :shame:
  16. Wait a sec..... -.- I just checked the number one fisher. If he had gained all that exp by fishing sharks and selling them for 1k each he still wouldn't have 1 bill... Unless I'm having a big brain fart (could be since I'm drugged atm :-# ) you sir, are lying.
  17. Then I congratulate you on the patience to do that... Did you do it on an other account?
  18. And you want to make 1 bill with fishing? :o Good luck with that...
  19. Another thing. I don't see barrows gloves in your setup, so I'll assume that's one of the things you couldn't get. If so, don't forget to take the steel gauntlets from family crest with you, they give a 2 str bonus. (I know it's not much, but every bit helps.) Edit: Forgot to say, if you've changed your (assuming you've done the quest) steel gauntlets into Cooking gauntlets, Goldsmithing gauntlets or Chaos gauntlets they still give a 2 str bonus.
  20. Same for me, I have no idea what you are talking about. -.-
  21. I don't think it will happen, but here is another possibility: As stated in this thread, nobody likes games in which everyone insults and are being insulted constantly. In time Runescape will grow less popular. People keep leaving the game, it isn't interesting enough to be on miniclip anymore and slowly rs seems to be dying. In the end, there will be only enough members to fill up to 10 worlds and because of that most servers will go offline. What you are left with is the extreme core, the real fans. They start growing into a tight-knit community, a bit like it has been on rs1 all those years ago. Then as the people that still play invite their friends, slowly the rs population begins to grow again. Untill it reaches its peak, the majority of runescape consisting of people insulting each other over everything. In time Runescape will grow less popular. etc etc. :-s
  22. I know what you mean about things that are put in, but don't really seem to have an use. Don't worry though, I have a story in my head and those kind of things are important. Can't really say more, I don't wanna give the story away. [hide]Here's a little hint: Chekhov's gun[/hide]
  23. Almost fell of my chair when I read that. Anyways, I agree that this topic is just another one of those topics that doesn't belong in general discussion (sorry op, but it's just my opinion), but that doesn't mean you have to spam this topic saying it's pointless. Even though I hate these topics, let people who like them just enjoy them and post on the better topics. If you can find them that is.
  24. Thanks. :D Just finished writing the prologue, so I'll edit that into my first post.
