  2. [hide=long quote pyramid] OK Mr. Cocky-I'm-so-smart-that-was-easy-to-find, did YOU find it? Don't say something is stupid when you're below that level of intelligence, it doesn't make you sound smart at all. lol i think he was using a remote thing to you called sarcasm :-$ Exactly? If it was sarcasm then it would be insulting me, which superson stood up for me for? lol what did you said? did't get a single word of it :-k explain thx -.- He was being sarcastic by saying "oh you're so great" or whatever, when he didn't mean it. Superson figured it out, and had a go at him. Then you say he was being sarcastic. But if he wasn't, why would superson flame him? Exactly. Was he being sarcasticc? At first I thought he was, but then I thought "hmm... I never would have found that either...", at which point I decided he wasn't being sarcastic. ~on topic. Wow, nice find. Too bad the pics dont work. Or #3. off topic~ Wow, I just found out that if you click ctrl+alt+i , it uses the itallicised bracket things. Same with ctrl+alt+b for bold.[/b] [/hide] I'm not so sure he is sarcastic, but anyways, even if he is, I'm not sarcastic: wow smart (not really smart in the sense that you needed a lot of intelligence to think of this, more like, good thinking) just change the number i dont think i would have in a million years thought of that (because I'm way too lazy to try something like that  ) =D> =D> =D>
  3. Why? Because it widens the gap between the rich and the poor, aka the old and the new (yeah i know huge sterotype but mostly true) and might deter new players when a rune scimmy is suddenly 9678k beacuse money is not worth as much. And btw, as history has told us, inflation leads to nasty revoltions, in our case ppl leaving and new ppl not coming in because of the huge financial gao between them and the people who have been here forever. Now if you actually tried thinking before posting you would notice it's exactly the opposite. Inflation means there keeps going more and more money into the economy. Because of that, money becomes less valueable (extreme example: in the past you could buy a nature rune for 300 gp, now you would pay 1500 gp, thus the money is worth less. ) Some rich guy has 100M gp in his bank. Suddenly inflation kicks in hard. In the past he could buy 333333 nature runes (300 each) for his 100M, but now he can only buy 66666 nature runes (1500 each) for his 100M, so he has become less rich. Now if there was deflation, that would be bad for the new players, since the 100M of the extreme example guy is worth more and the newbs will have a harder time getting such an amount of money.
  4. First of all, I read all posts, since they cracked me up... That means I know you want me to search for some animal abuse video, but I am very familiar with those videos of animals being skinned alive and such and have no desire to watch them again. Anyways, you are whining about shooing a dog? We can use freakin chinchilla handgrenades and you worry about shooing a dog?! You sir, are one messed up individual. You say this teaches kids the wrong things? Like other people said: killing dogs, humans, other animals, stealing from people, trapping animals, betting on rat fights, sticking a harpoon through a fish, chopping down forrests etc is all fine, but shooing dogs isn't?
  5. Precisely. Like I said earlier, no matter what happens to the prices, raw materials will go with it, meaning it makes little to no difference for most people on the long run.
  6. Very interesting post, great job. ;) There might just be hope left for general P2P. My only regret is that your post is too small. After a couple of minutes I've read it and now I have to find a new, interesting topic to read.
  7. I don't know what to believe, since I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. :?
  8. That wouldn't happen. As soon as everything starts going up in price, the things people use to make money (raw materials) go up in price too, meaning it wouldn't make much difference. I fail to see the importance of a crash. Even if all rares became untradeable, it wouldn't be a big deal economy wise. Of course the whole economy would be turned upside down, but eventually things will start to stabilize again and most things will be back to normal. Maybe everything costs more gp, but that doesn't make anything different, since raw material would probably go up at about the same rate. In the end, in my opinion, it just doesn't matter that much.
  9. Precisely! People need to stop complaining as much, because even a diary for lumbridge could open up really cool possibilities. If TB@JT will make it cool is another question, but the potential is certainly there. It also suprises me that people always say the programmers work their behinds of to make updates for us. If they really have as many programmers as I've heard people say on tif, they could make way bigger updates then they do now. Ofcourse they would need a huge amount of testers, but that's really the only thing that could be holding them back, besides being unable to think of cool stuff to add. And yes, I have experience at programming, including java, so don't start saying I have no idea what I'm talking about.
  10. What interesting things can you possibly do in Varrock? At least the Fremmenik islands have something interesting to do. But why would they have to use existing features for all the tasks? Ok, that's what they did on karamja, but repeating something like the karamja diary in another area won't take a week to develop, unless you want to make it really big and only have one person to do the programming. It won't take very long, you just need to do a lot of testing, because that takes most of the time, but without adding a lot of new things, I don't think the testing would take long either. So if you have several people on the programming of the tasks, you can easily add some new things to make difficult tasks and at the same time make varrock more interresting.
  11. But you can also look at it this way... If Varrock wins, that means you can do all the tasks in a nice, newly updated area, that counts for something too doesn't it? (if you like how varrock look now ofcourse)

Help & Advice. ;) Anyways, it entirely depends on what you want to do. Do you want to fight monsters, pvp, farm, mine?
  13. I think, like some other people already said, that if it comes out, it will be when jagex wants to and that can take a very long time... I also don't like the name dragon kin. They created the dragons, so I feel they shouldn't be called that. I hope jagex comes up with some better name if/when they release them.
  14. Shouldn't this be posted in 'Clues, Clues, Clues (and Random Events)'? Anyways, I don't really have a problem with most randoms, except the sandwich lady and ents...
  15. Maybe you should stop ressurecting old threads... This is the second or third I've seen that you bumped from a year ago. Koschei the Deathless is so cool. Even though I defeated him, he is one tough cookie to crack. Took me about 20 sharks to kill him. Then after that annoying fight I get the fremmenik sword and I find out all the guards there drop that freaking sword too. :XD:
  16. Some of us do! Anyways, I hate it when people look at your stats just to brag, ask your lvl just to brag etc, I hate it... The people that put the amount of views in the name of the topic, I don't hate. I do find it kind of sad, but if they feel they've accomplished something, good for them, let them be happy about it. As long as they don't go posting on other topics that they are better because of the amount of views I don't mind. Yup, I also believe this is one of, if not the biggest reason people play this game. But that doesn't mean it's normal to brag about everything, I don't. O:) I mean, it's true that the sense of accomplishment is nice, but I don't brag about my lvls or completed quests. Most of my real-life friends that played have quit, so I have no reason to brag to them. I don't really socialize with people at training spots, so there isn't even a lot of opportunity for me to brag. If some random person were to comment nicely about a lvl I have, I would feel proud, but I don't start boasting about my lvls to people.
  17. That boss from contact... I wasn't using a guide, so I kinda had a hard time getting through the maze, then I read here on tip that the boss was incredibly hard, so got a bit scared. Then I went in, killed the melee and range guys, put on protect from magic and killed the boss, so easy it wasn't funny. Argh, I was so lucky at the haunted mine. While I was doing it (again, no guide) I met someone who was doing it without a guide too, so we went together. Then we came in this room and there was a key, so went to pick it up, he was first. :ohnoes: The damage my new friend was getting was terrifying. He died, I picked up his stuff and waited for him to get back, he brought some sharks and we both killed the boss, but that was so scary!
  18. But if you look at the posts of all the other people in your topic you'll notice it isn't that slow. The problem could lie with your computer, but I doubt it. Like others have said, it's probably your internet connection. That you have a new connection service doesn't say anything, since it can still be slow... But the problem could very well lie in your upload speed. A lot of isp's give people a high download rate, but a low upload rate. This would mean that information send from the runescape server to you won't take long to arrive, while information send from your computer (the command to walk somewhere for example) to the runescape server would have a delay. Most of the time someones upload speed won't be low enough to cause major delays for simple commands, but if you are downloading or something like that it can get really messy. :P And for the record, I have an old spare computer (800 MHz) which runs runescape perfectly in high detail.... And another bit of advice, making sure the runescape world you use has a server near you can make a lot of difference.
  19. Exactly. Do you guys know any parts of the Runescape History? Varrock was attacked from the North by some random things. Can't remember what, though... There, that's what I was looking for! Ummm, I still haven't done a lot of quests, so I may lack a lot of background info, but wasn't the whole attack on varrock the story of arrav? I don't know if you read it, if you didn't, go do it, the story is worth it. ;) And because Zemouregal wasn't really defeated, his attack was only delayed. And when he comes back, so will arrav, on the dark side of course. :P [hide=Legend of Arrav]Before he could think further, a blast of sorcerous energy struck Arrav in the back. Zemouregal stood over him as he crawled through the dust and mud, crippled with pain. 'Fool!' The mahjarrat said in a hiss. 'You have surrendered yourself to save your home, but nothing can protect it from me. In time I shall return. The decades pass like moments for those of my tribe, and nothing can defy our will for all time. But when I return, you shall lead my armies. You shall be my greatest champion; you shall suffer with the knowledge that though you hoped to save your people, you shall instead be their doom.' Tendrils of oily smoke crept from Zemouregal's hands and twisted over the broken ground to Arrav, clutching him tight in their grip. For a few moments he struggled against their power, but finally he was still. Pale and quiet, Arrav, the greatest hero of men, was dead. We remember Arrav for his sacrifice. We remember that his fate was not of his choosing, and we remember him as an example to all of us; for though he was stronger and faster than any other mortal, his strength of spirit and his compassion can be that of any man. We remember Arrav, too, because we must always be prepared for his return, sad though it shall be. [/hide] And for those people that don't know, the necromancer is Zemouregal. There are many bits where it tells of his army, but I think this little piece will suffice. [hide=Zemouregal necromancy bit]'Your doom is upon you, foolish weakling,' Zemouregal said then, 'your shield may save you from my magicks, but your home will drown in blood. Even now, your people are being slaughtered and shall rise again as my slaves.'[/hide] When I read this I burst out in laugther.
  20. If you want to compare it to real-life, let's look at it this way. If a stray dog comes up to you, do you have the option to shoo it away? Never mind if you want to, but do you have the option? Of course you do. Jagex even gives you the option to feed it a bone or some meat, so what is wrong with it? If you want to be kind to pixels, feed the darned dog, if you don't want to be nice, shoo it.
  21. I feel roleplaying is more like your second example. Yes, roleplaying is of course precisely that, playing a role. But I have always seen real roleplaying as going a step further in the sense that people think of a character, they make up a background story, decide what the strengths and weaknesses of the character are and actually play a story. Now of course that's what you do in runescape, you go on epic  quests, you develop your character, but it's still not what I mean. A real roleplayer (in my opinion ofcourse) makes up his/her own quests, his own story, his own enemies. The way I see a real roleplayer is more like a dungeons and dragons player then a runescape player. Wether you make up a story yourself or not, you are playing a strange role compared to real-life, so playing runescape is roleplaying. And yet, I still feel it's not the same. When playing runescape, you follow a set story. Runescape gives a huge amount of freedom regarding your preferred playstyle, but if you're questing for example, everything is set up and you follow the story. I never roleplay in quests, I never make up a story when questing, training or pk'ing, I just do it. That̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâôs what I̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâôm trying to get at, it̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâôs a way of playing the game, the difference between just trying get those lvl̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâôs to show off and training your strength because you have been raised as a barbarian. Myself, I believe not that many people in Runescape truly roleplay, I know I don̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâôt because I think Runescape is just not cut out for it. Ofcourse if you really want to, you can roleplay in any game, a fps for all I care, but I believe the real roleplaying should just be left to the geeks that play dnd (not a insult, since I'm one of them  ). Heh, it just depends on your view. Dork is right, since you are playing the role of someone else, but like I hopefully made clear in my post, I see roleplaying as going further then that. But just so you know, technically he is right.
  22. Yes, you want it to fail. curses can't be cast for some time if they succeed, so try to get your mage bonus as low as possible.
  23. That doesn't work...In slayer you get the xp as you hit the monster. So you'd only get a couple xp points from finishing it off. I belive you are wrong. Check again when you train slayer. You get the xp for killing it. Nope, like Micbar said, you get the exp when the monster is killed. You get half of the exp for doing most of the damage and half exp for the finishing blow...
  24. Let's hope they change it fast, because getting a firecape is almost impossible without lightning fast prayer. :(
