First off, you can do almost anything in photoshop elements that you can do in other versions. :wink: Next to do a border just create a new layer and select all then click stroke then when the little window thing comes up make the stroke 1 pixel and black then click ok and voila! a border. I wouldnt call the first one tech, go to devianart.com and check out some of metrostation's brushes, they are what you call tech. The grunge one is ok, kinda boring, maybe add some more color or something. not one of your best mrx, sorry, it lacks a lot of detail we are used to seeing. The water is not detailed at all and the shading is done good in most areas but some need work. just dont like it as much as usual... :oops:

i agree and disagree with entangle on this one... they look nice and usually that would be enough, but seriously they do just look like a bunch of random flames blended over each other and then colored and laid over with stars.... I have to say the text effects are nice and professional looking...and there is a pretty good focal point with the render and all. the above post is IMO and could be completely wrong...sue me....

Well, it has broken yet again, first it was the power connector thingamabob now the PCI bus has become disconnected or something from the motherboard... The model is an HP ZX5000 I am running windows XP Can I fix this myself or should I send it in for another 30 days(last time I sent it in they wiped my harddrive...). PLEASE HELP!

pretty nice background though I think it is kinda low quality, meh just a little blurry, There are some big dark spots that you dont really want, ya know. Uhh the text is pretty bad, remember text is a big part of a sig, also make it stand out a little more. Hmm maybe add some scanlines or something just make it interesting. Also you could add a brightness and contrast layer and turn up the contrast a good bit, would prolly look pretty good.

ahhh! sorry man but that doesnt look too good. Some things you may want to do to improve that, go for simplicity with the ipod look, and gah! that chrome filter or whatever that is is ugly. I think it would look a LOT better if you would have just left the outlined person black, then NOT put those lens flares... The text needs work, I cant say this enough, simple text is NOT GOOD, you need some layer styles or an outline. To add an outline just select your text and then add a black 1 px stroke. Layer styles are easy enough to figure out... uhh for brushes try http://www.deviantart.com for some tutorials try http://www.greycobra.com http://www.shiver7.com http://www.deviantart.com http://www.good-tutorials.com (best IMO) http://www.tutorialized.com though once you look at these tutorials, dont just go straight off of them, develop your own style, be original. also for fonts, http://www.dafont.com http://www.1001freefonts.com next time try to use the media resources sticky at the top of the page.

ok I understand what you are saying, and you are correct. But on any of these other forums thats what they are called, there is no right and wrong. who really cares what its called, its just where you first come from that will determine really what you call it. check http://www.greycobra.com http://www.nationalsigleague.com if you want to see for yourself... Ryan you treat it like its a crime to call it a render or something, look in the english dictionary, there are plenty of words there that have double meanings.

oooo, hmmm this is not really my cup of tea (html and all) but could you try like setting it to center in the table instead of setting it as the background maybe?

ok CC time! First of all the bg is very boring, give it sort of a focal point and some highlights and lolights black and white spots ya know. Also maybe get some new brushes that are more detailed and dont look like a clouds render. After you get some new brushes and do a new background try bringing up the contrast in b/contrast layer. As for the render, its too blended, it needs to sort of overlap the background to give it some depth. So next time bring its opacity back up to 100. I like the pixel text, it is good, but the main text could be a lot better. When you are doing text and dont have any creative ideas just add in a few layer styles, an outer bevel drop shadow, and an outer glow. Also if you dont want to do that just make a small 1 px stroke around it, it makes it look neater. When you type your text make sure the antialiasing box or whatever it is is checked. The border is pretty good, you may want to make it on a new layer and make that middle line a mid gray and then set the layer to like color dodge or color burn (dont remember which one) and it should make it look pretty cool. btw the way you did you laid out your text is great! Well thats all i have for now :)
