That's why a generic point system would work better. If only mods/admins/crewbies can hand them out, there will be less abuse. Sorry, but I really don't want to have to spend my time handing out point thingys. Even if I just did it as I was browsing, there wouldn't be enough of us (staff) doing it to make it worthwhile. I do, however, support a system where only positive "points" can be given. Just make sure that there's nowhere public that says how many "points" a user has been given, as that would bring it back into a popularity contest type thing. This also might help with stopping the "+1" posts.

I don't think a contest would be the best idea, because, as others have said, we'd get some complainers that they can't do art therefore we aren't giving everyone an equal chance. The best bet imo would be to post a thread in the Gallery asking for some users to make some. We could then choose the good ones and add them, crediting the makers in an announcement.

If there was, it only needs to be 12, or 13, personally 12 and below. 18 is too high for the majority of users who would enjoy this suggestion. Wouldnt it just display the date, and say nothing about the year though? We could have it do that, yes.

Low detail for me. It's guaranteed no lag, plus I can browse forums, play other games... yeah.
