You definitely need to practice your values with graphite before moving on to a different medium of acrylic. Try using different pencils, HB is a good beginner pencil because it doesn't require as much precision to get your darkest darks and lightest lights. How you can do this, is draw out 10 boxes connecting to each other, and one side is DARK, and one side is LIGHT. Make three of these sets. One for crosshatching, hatching, and smooth shading(what you attempted.) Don't you hold your pencil as you would write, hold it as an artist would hold it and use your wrist to create strokes. I'm sure you know what i'm getting here. That's some homework for yourself. Your pieces: 1) Dude lol, use canvas trust me, you're going to have an easier time. Good start, did you draw this from your mind/photo/life? Even if this is a surrealistic piece, you need to render the logo much more accurately. Also, the whole box and the bottles are very inconsistent. Did you draw it out before you painted? 2) You need to make sure values create lines, not lines you create yourself. 3) Perspective is incorrect, use guide lines of a three point perspective. Same thing, use the values to create the lines. Also you don't have enough values. This is because you don't have an obvious light source, and your shading is weak. Draw more from real life, you're going to see that highlights aren't that large. 4) Perspective is off, lines are round and elementary. Not enough values, your highlights are too over bearing. 5) There are styles where you can emulate a collage or a chaotic design and make them aesthetically pleasing and have direction in the flow of the placement of the objects in the piece. I draw a line that flows across the piece directing it from the start, to 5-6 lesser focal points and ending in the focal point. I then place the objects where they'll be visible. Right now the composition is weak and overbearing to look at. 6) This is your best piece. You need to rework the hues and values so it doesn't look so halfassed. Render the Lego logo better, now it just looks like a clump. You have no idea how much it can improve the visual worth of your artwork. Good mark making. 7) Use everything I told you to make this awesome. :D

Ah nice. I think you'll like Eternal Morning as well if you dig those artists. Eternal Morning is with Tablo of Epik High. What's your favorite Shing02 album? I'm surprised people actually take an interest in Japanese hiphop. Well lol aside from that anime sig you have.

You freerun? We explored an abandoned GM plant. This was right after we made a 60ft ropeswing out of a fire hose. :D I'm on the right. [hide] [/hide] You 17 year olds look so tough with your axes and smoke! And breaking into a GM plant??? WOW! He said exploring, nothing about breaking in or anything. Some Teens smoke, nothing new there. Get over yourself. Have you ever heard of places closing down without being locked up? So what if he said he was exploring, him and his buddies broke into the place. It's easy to see they're carrying axes to attempt to look cool and the whole smoke thing ties into it. Just a bunch of posers. Damn son, you mad? Also we're all 20+. Lol, we had fun, haters gonna hate. People smoke dude, get over it.
  7. Haven't posted anything in a while. I would post my new traditional pieces, but I don't have my USB reader at the moment. Ignore the crap anime.

Meh, I hate new Jedi Mind, saw him live and he just sounds like utter crap ever since he got shot in the mouth. And AoTP is alright imo. Looking forward to new QN5, RhymeSayers, and Doom Tree material.
  9. Holy fuuu yeah HS of the Dead is getting an anime. This makes me happy.

No, wool is only for winter, and grey suits. Linen, cotton, and seersucker fabrics for summer. Anyways, summer fabrics are always much more fashionable than wool. However worsted wool is pretty damn classy.

Haha really? When I first saw the thread title I though you based the tag off of an acid trip haha. It really does resemble an acid trip.

Good job on the focus, I don't see any blurring on the actual subject material. However poor use of composition, why smack dab in the middle if its a horizontal picture? I feel that you could have gotten a much more interesting angle, and push the focal point on the bee rather than the whole thing. Kudos though, at least it didn't fly away.
  14. Dude her collar bones are broken, they're totally off center. Good god her nose is gigantic, and her eye isn't where its supposed to be. And dude, what is that thing on her head?

Its an implied corner, where there focal point's source is leading off into a corner. There's more substance to the pole near the bottom rather than the top. Loving the photos Planet(Can I call you Planet?) great use of lighting and a grasp of your composure. This is good stuff.
  21. So this is my first digipaint, I have no idea what i'm doing. Its so difficult for me to adapt to a digital palette because color selection is much more difficult than in real life. I can tell you, painting in real life is so much easier than this haha. I'm not able to create the hues I wish for, or revolve a color scheme around a single theme. I have to say that's the hardest part for me. It shows because i'm not able to create depth or volume to my darkest darks or lightest lights. I'm dumbfounded really. So major help?
  22. I ignore girls now because all of them want my [bleep]. I only talk to my girlfriend, but she thinks its hilarious that any girl I talk to want a date or talk more. She gets jealous sometimes when we're out and reluctant to mingle with other people, but she really shouldn't.
  23. Paint Tool Sai is an amazing program for you digital artists out there. If you're interested in an awesome program just PM and i'd be glad to send it to you. But its in Japanese, if you can bare with me.
  24. Blood+ is amazing, that is all.

I dunno, its more a novelty. You get a girl to send you her nudes, you show to your friends and your friends show you the ones they got.
