Killing armour is still better if you have not completed As A First Resort. As A First Resort is one of the "must do" quests. Pretty low levelled too, so if someone can access the Warriors Guild, I'd assume they can do this quest. Quest is worth doing for this reason let alone the other beneifts.

After the quest what monsters do you have to kill, what are there levels and what drop rate are the claws and plate pieces? thanks

Im not 99 but rack up XP when I do farm. I only connect evenings and weekends so my standard method is this: Start Catherby (Fruit) BANK (Makes sense to start here especially if you are on Lunars) Teleport to Lumbridge (Tree) Teleport to Falador (Tree) BANK if needed. Run to Taverley (Tree) Crystal Seed to LLeyta (Fruit)(BANK) (I have this here cos I use a familiar making banking at GE impossible) Teleport to Varrock (Tree) Spirit Tree to Gnome Stronghold (Fruit/Tree)BANK Spirit Tree to Maze (Fruit) (This way as it's less walking/clicking than using the other way) Teleport to Ardy/Boat to Brimhaven (Fruit/Spirit Tree) Run to Calquat. Teleport to Catherby BANK (Time to start allotments)(Allotment)BANK Run to Ardy (Allotment) Teleport to Trollheim (Herb) Duel to Al Kharid (Cactus) BANK (Cactus won't be ready every run, skip to Draynor and BANK there) Glory to Draynor BANK (Nightshade/Allotment) Ecto to Canifis (Allotment) Run to mushrooms (BANK beforehand). A spirit terrorbird helps no end in saving space as does the lunar spell fertile soil. You can do trees once a day and allotments every 1.5 hours. At allotments I use strawberries (pay to keep them safe), marigolds, and herbs. Trollheim will never get diseased so ranarr/snapdragon there. If you are connecting for a while use an amulet of nature to do another profitable patch with no risk. Fill the rest with whatever you like. Pay for fruit trees not regular trees. The amount you lose in dead seeds is less than payments.

Also worth noting that the Waterfall is pretty old hat for Fire Giants these days. Only rangers really use it now. Meleer's prefer the Chaos Tunnels, Smokey Dungeon or Brimhaven Dungeon.

Lol everyone says killing armour and it's always wrong. Go take a dip in the infinite run pool. Now go do the shot putt. You will max it everytime as it's based on run energy, bar the odd one which will fail. Very easy and no risk.

Correct. Currently it is impossible to do the quest without all other quests done, but after another quest is released then it would be feasible to be able to miss out one of the "core" quests needed to start it.

I did it differently. Check your weight then go and look at the temperature thing. Minus the temp from your weight and you have the weights you need to add to the statue. Don't forget to clear the statue from before though.

Few suggestions: MTK - Stick it to herbs. I get about 300 a week, mainly to keep me in prayer pots and super sets. Chaos Druids/Abby Spectres - Go kill these. If you have done Smoking Kills and have a slayer helm you can use the Smoking Kills dungeons and a cannon for some fast kills of spectres. I prefer meleeing here too, less crowded. Chaos Druids/Abby Spectres pt 2 - Bring along a pestle and mortar and a stash of swamp tar to a crowded place (chaos druids are better) and make tar as you go using other peoples drops they leave. You lose a bit mostly, but Harralander is profitable and all tar stacks and is cheapish anyway.

Firstly your run is bad. Split your trees/allotments up and do the bushes/hops/specials with those but don't go out of your way for those (except Calquat/Spirit). Trees are approx once a day jobs unless you can get on whenever you like. Most of us have school/work so can't. Allotments you can do every 1.5 hours and if you are serious about farming then you should be doign these when on. Even if you dont do allotments, do the marigolds/herbs for cash.

Yes, however it isn't very thorough. If you are talking about the one on Wiki it's perfect (or was). No spoilers and if you were stuck you knew what to do.

I've heard that it should be around 4-5 hours, not tried myself though. I did 2.5 hours last night and got to the part when you go to Falador. I've not seen a complete quest guide (can't load the Wiki at work) but judging by the time the major storyline spoiler came and the actual completion happened I would guess I'm a third of the way through it. I didn't power through it but I used a guide, so I would say 5-6 hours with a guide.

I am in a similar boat but slightly different as I actually want to keep construction low for TOG. Slayer the mainstay of my game. I use it for cash, charms and melee XP and I advise anyone else to do the same. Don't waste it in slayer. Agility is easy to raise. It's just boring. The XP isn't that slow though. Mining is slow too, but what with star hunting it is actually reasonable fun now. More social. Prayer is easy XP, just need some cash, oh wait what that, 10mil reward from quest? That's a good few prayer levels. :P Prayer is also useful. Summoning isn't that expensive either, swap pouches and make efficient ones. Summoning is useful. Construction is expensive and pretty useless. I'm 72 and have no burning desire to raise it higher (other than to get all stats 80+). This is my TOG skill and I dump all my genie lamps / tomes into it however 400k is a lot of XP. In adding it to construction I total screw up it being my lowest skill and have to do 20+ hours of runecrafting to get back on the level. Plus I kinda see it as a waste fo 400k XP. Runecrafting is getting my vote currently. 400k will get me to 75+ so thats a giant pouch. Nice reward I think and will maximise future runecrafting. The only drawback is I am losing money (400k runecrafting xp equates to a lot of nats). The time I save (20 hours) though could be used for Bandos or getting shield parts. I will change my vote to runecrafting, unless you have a burning desire to get construction XP.

I can't believe I'm moaning about such a good reward! I am swaying towards all runecrafting XP. I will be able to maximise further runecrafting with the giant pouch and it means construction is a long way behind which is how I like it. All construction is out, I'm not going to benefit from any more levels and it will cause me more hassle having to runecraft as well. Still pondering the split, as it will effectivley change nothing.

SPOILERS FOR NEW QUEST [hide=Spoilers Are Here]So I will have 400k XP tonight, to a skill of my choice (all over 70 let alone 65). Trouble is which? I currently have construction as my "Tears of Guthix" (lowest) skill. As soon as it become my second lowest I go and runecraft for a bit. I find this makes rc bearable as I'm only doing it once a month and also I'm getting free XP in an expensive skill. If I whack 400k on construction then thats approx 20 hours of runecrafting I have to do to get back into this loop. Something I don't think I can handle, especially as my short term plans involve 99 attack, 88 summoning and eventually 99 slayer. If I whack 400k on runecrafting then I will hit the magic 75 for giant pouch and not need worry about it for ages and ages. However I see this as throwing away profit, seeing as rc makes you money, however slow it is. Although you could say the profit from the quest makes up for this. The other option is to have 200k on rc and 200k construction. This will mean the loop continues but the 2 stats are going to be nearer the other stats I've still to raise to 80. (Hunter, Mining, and Thieving) Hunter is going to 80 as soon as I'm done with 99 attack and 85+ summon (depends on charms really) and theiving is a piece of cake to raise. 200k won't get that near my mining. What would everyone else do? All 3 options are possibilities right now![/hide]

Taverley Dungeon for the druids. I'd not use the GE for herbs atm. People are mass training herblore to 65 for the new quest.

Summoning isn't that expensive. So either prayer or construction. I would go with construction.
