  1. Sorry about that Randox, computer went weird. Anyway, as for Maemi, I did find it curious that it was the name of a typhoon, but other than that, I came to the same conclusion as you. However, Maemi does look an awful lot like Bob. Here's a little investigation for Members- try wearing a catspeak amulet whilst listening at the grill. I'm beginning to wonder if that purr was more than delight at the witch's kind words... Oh, and another thing about the Black Knight's Fortress- there was a small gargoyle just outside one of the walls (push through wall, go up ladder, look to East). On closer inspection it appeared to look awfully like one of the old dragons from the start of RuneScape 2. I'm not sure of the significance of that, but since we are investigating the dragonkin, I find it a bit suspicious that a little dragon appears on a wall in the Black Knight's current headquarters. I'm not sure why the Black Knight's had Saradomin symbols in the fortress. However, if you noticed, they symbols are located in a dining room like place. Could they have had Saradominists over for a meeting? Highly suspicious if they did.
  2. Oh, I suppose you're right. Reading this thread, I think the Editor's identity will be revealed soon. Like, the Editor could be anyone. Yes, anyone.
  3. Odd that everyone manages to crack the case of the WOM whilst I'm away... :P Anyhoo, about the dragonkin- we said this would probably end up being a series of quests, right? Well, what if this quest was simply an intervention to stop the WOM getting immortality, but ended up that the player trying to do it had to fight a dragonkin for survival? Player immortality, anyone? Or would that be going too far? Hm, my brain has gone stupid. But as for the meeting, I should be there. So, the dragonkin will be the main topic of discussion I suppose?
  4. Hmm... well, the WOM could possibly be trying to become the King of Falador. After all, what better way to look like a good boy in Saradomin's eyes than become king of a Saradominist region? So, he might just be trying to be the king so he can pave his way to godhood. Also, as king, he'll have direct control over the Faladin armies- the White Knights, for example. Since the White Knights are Saradomin followers, they'll take whatever chance they can get to destroy Zamorakians- especially on orders from their king. It seems his main goal is still to become a god. We weren't actually being serious (at least, I hope not). It was merely a bit of banter. :P Yes, I thought I was a follower of Zaros too. If you pay me though, I'll follow whatever god you want. And I'll kill anyone you want too. Unless they pay me to kill you of course- that way, I'll just kill the one you want dead, take the money from you, then just kill you. If that makes sense.
  5. Oooh, 1alebcay changed his avatar! Now we have the full set. :P "There are those with loaded guns my friend, and those who do the digging. You dig." Go on 1alebcay! Dig! Dig into the WOM's life! Dig to victory! As for the King of Falador, I do get the feeling he has been kidnapped. Hmm... the supposed king is on Saradomin's side isn't he? Well, what if the WOM has him locked away? If the Wise Old Man were to execute him, then that would get Saradominists (White Knights) angry, would it not (especially if he made it look like the work of Zamorakians)? And then after they find the dead body of the king, kaboom! Bye bye Wizard's Tower! And what will they find? Some mark of Zamorak I would imagine, carefully planted by the WOM. They'd fight each other without a second thought. And speaking of rulers, I'm off to hunt for that poll about the secret rulers of RuneScape. I doubt it was penguins, as why would they be trying to take over if they already were the rulers? Not sure if any of this will end up relating to the WOM, but it's worth a try I suppose.
  6. It's Tuco! But if you ask me, I found him more stupid than ugly. Coincidentally, I'm listening to 'The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly' right now on my media player. The man was a genius I tells ya! Well, Thurgo did make the Blurite Sword. But I think the WOM will be aiming for weapons with a sort of magical property so his troops will withstand anything. Of course, this would be bad for both Saradominists and Zamorakians, as you don't exactly see them wearing the greatest armour, do you ('cept for the White Knights)? Of course, knowing Zamorak, he'll probably unleash a host of demons and powerful mages, which might crumble normal armour. So therefore, the WOM needs protection from all three types of attack. Say, you don't think he might be trying to get them to remake Barrows armour? We said earlier that he may try obtaining this legandary armour, but I doubt he wants his troops slaughtered by an angry Guthan the Infested. So, he might try to get the dwarves to remake the armour, even though it'll cost him a tad more than if he were to get it, but in the long run it would be easier- not everyone who goes to the Barrows gets a piece of Barrows weaponry/armour. It could be possible that our little Black Knights may rush in and aid the WOM, as they would see it as a prime opportunity to get back at the wizards (and the possible Opus Saradomin). Ah, but the WOM is a very over-confident being. He'll do it without a second thought. That's the downfall of villains in the end- they always underestimate the opposition. And the WOM is stupid enough to underestimate us... Well, even if the WOM does get killed, we have forgotten about one hugely important thing- Zaros. The WOM may use Zaros to destroy the gods, as he is one of the most powerful. But if the WOM does die, Zaros is hardly going to cry beside the WOM's body is he? He's going to blow Zamorak's head off and rip out Saradomin's eyes. But Guthix will escape before he does any of this, that's for sure, because if Guthix dies, Gielinor is destroyed.
  7. Sorry I haven't been posting much folks- me brain went dead. Anyhoo, as far as Elfinlocks goes, I think it's just a throwaway clue to lead up to the big quest. If it's coming then we'll likely end up seeing the WOM wandering around, lots of travelling Black and White Knights, and possibly more of those Falador Stone symbols. A bit of suspense is always good. So, is the meeting in the same place, same time, World 61? I'm actually stumped as to what we're going to discuss. He'd have escaped before you even swung the stupid thing. :P Off topic: The Tip.It Times has a very curious title...
  8. As others have said, the lack of Zaros forces me to not vote in this poll. Saradomin is an old fool, besotted by the support of his worshippers. Guthix fails to grasp that balance is the path of the failures, the weak, and the unworthy. Zamorak is simply an annoyance, who would squeal if poked with a stick. Meanwhile however, we have Zaros- the mighty, the powerful, the destroyer, the unbalance etc. He clearly outmatches the other three.
  9. The Postbag from the Hedge has come... *Considers sticking Postie Pete at gunpoint and forcing him to make an answer to KCHughes' letter and add it to the current edition*
  10. If you did that, the post would be way too long. So many theories have been flying around this thread, it's impossible to keep up with them all. So, we are basically focusing on the most likely ideas (the current one being the WOM wanting to become a god- oh, and KC, you forgot to give yourself at least credit for that  ). Anyhoo, no sign of monsieur Pete. I have a feeling he's going to come this saturday, for some reason. Right on time for the next meeting. Hopefully.
  11. KCHughes, I wish to sue you for indirectly attempting to kill me via too much strain on the heart induced by laughter. Either somehow remove that '100% free dating!' advert or you will lose 20,000gp. Please, the room is flooding with my tears of laughter!   Well, as for confusing the enemy, leave me to the job. They don't call me the most insane player in RuneScape for nothing!
  12. Do mine eyes decieve me? Taken from another thread. The author then said they were turned into soul runes. Life runes used to exist! Also, isn't the soul the part of you that goes to heaven in the Christian religion? Well, life runes were apparently changed to soul runes. The WOM may want to cause Judgement Day, so people's souls will either go to heaven or hell- possible link with soul runes! The soul runes may be able to summon those long lost! The WOM cannot defeat souls! It's perfect! EDIT: No, we didn't make much progress, but that meeting was sooo funny. However, there wasn't much to talk about, since the postbag still has yet to arrive. Once it comes, we'll likely spend a long time speculating.
  13. Yep, that sounds fine with me anyway. I hope everyone gets that, so we don't get people logging in on the wrong world.
  14. GMT. World 7. However, may I add that World 7 has serious lag issues. I logged in around two hours ago and could barely move. We'll try once again tonight, and if most of us start to lag, I think we'll have to decide on a different world- if that's okay with KCHughes of course. Yep, today. Oh, and Trobigod has completed the quest. He didn't say there was anything WOM related though.
  15. Hang on- why did I say 8:00pm? Sorry, it's 7:00pm as usual. *Makes mental note not to log in at night* But if you were the Evil Chicken, would you not prefer to chase players around the place to get some experience in the job before attacking the Wise Old Man? I don't think you would want to end up as the WOM's dinner. Come on Postie Pete, where are ya? I somehow think that goblin burned this month's bag by accident. Never trust a goblin to do your dirty work. :P
  16. A spy of the Wise Old Man was spotted today on Tutorial Island! The spy was sighted by Vannaka, Combat Instructor of the island. Vannaka refuses to say anything other than, "I saw, The Woms Spy," so he is currently being treated for shock. An image of the WOM's spy was taken by Vannaka shortly after he was spotted near the rat prison: Looks very spy-like, doesn't he? Anyway, we're still waiting for the Postbag from the Hedge. Hopefully it'll come by tomorrow, so we'll have more to discuss for the next meeting. Which reminds me- 8:00pm GMT, tomorrow, Water Altar. Hopefully you'll come! :P However, Trobigod has not yet done the 'Tower of Life' quest and won't be able to do it tomorrow, so we'll have to wait I'm afraid. :P
  17. Aw, I was beginning to get excited. :P But I don't think he'd like being turned into a kite anyway, so... I have a feeling this is something to do with summoning runes, though I doubt they would unleash that great a power on us so soon. Possibly some knowledge about summoning, and a bit of Runecrafting experience. Or we could get a bunch of runes and learn how to summon giant rats. Hmmm... :-k
  18. Then he'd have around 5000-10,000 hit points. He doesn't have infinite health, so when trying to take over the world, he would need an army. The Wise Old Man would have an extremely high defence actually. Hr got hit purely because it was part of that cutscene or whatever. If he actually fought it properly, he'd hardly get hit at all.
  19. Well, the wizards might lend a helping hand, so I'm pretty sure they'll hold off for a while. Providing they don't trip over each others cloaks of course. But as for us, whilst following the WOM, if he spots us, we're pretty much dead aren't we? Well, maybe Chad197 can use our ashes to make a birthday cake. I think you'll be used in the icing and me in the cream. :P Traiborn, do you think? We might even possibly get the Mysterious Old Man involved- the supposed brother of the Wise Old Man. Actually, the MOM will probably play a part in this. The trap could be leading the WOM to one of the MOM's glass boxes and trapping him inside. It is clear that the Wise Old Man is in love with money, so maybe if we were to drop a trail of coins, he might follow it into the box! Traiborn might be able to do some wizardry to make the box appear totally invisible. He'll probably run to Zaros, wherever he is. Though if you were Zaros, already freed from whatever enchantment, and seeking summoning runes to create a deadly army, where would you go? Uh huh. The Falador Stones. A lot of things seem to link with them, and their symbols have been found all over the place. So possibly there is a multitude of runes trapped in each stone. Zaros being a god, he'll probably find a way to tap into them. Thank goodness for chad197 and fronzz- the fate of the world might rest in their hands.
  20. I'm just thinking- haven't we practically solved the mystery of the Wise Old Man? If the WOM wanting to become a god theory is correct (which I am 99% certain it is), then all we basically need to do is work out what the other two symbols on the Falador Stones stand for, get the letter from Father Aereck, find a few more clues, and get WOMDA ready for battle. Well, if we defeat the WOM, I guess it's adios. It is a shame, but unfortunately every story must end. But if we don't defeat WOM, I guess that'll be kinda worse in a way, due to the fact that he'll be mostly undefeatable, so really we'll get caught up in a never ending war across a harsh wasteland.
  21. Falador Stones. At the stone signpost just before the entrance to Falador, walk straight, stop at the entrance, turn left, and keep walking until you find a strange stone circle. Go in there, and you'll find the Falador Stones. That looks uncannily similar to the symbol on the wave stone, only on its side. I think we established that it symbolised famine- what would the White Knights have to do with famine? Good to hear it soldier. As for the chase, it shouldn't really take too long. When I set out to find someone I find 'em. That's why they pay me. :P
  22. Okay, the current theory circulating around the thread seems to make the most sense. In the event that the WOM does try to become a god, we'll need proper defence. As such, I have organised a defence plan for RuneScape if the idea is correct. I'm working on the assumption that the posters in this thread will be around when either Jagex announces the end or someone reports something weird. We'll PM the people concerned with each location if either KCHughes or me see the WOM heading in their direction. Note- all Tip.It users will be free to go to the locations as well as the people mentioned. Okay, here we go: The WOM's house- KCHughes and me will monitor the Wise Old Man in his house. If he moves out, we'll tail him. The Wizard's Tower- I suggest that Darkluniux and 1alebcay stand guard on the Tower. The Falador Stones- I suggest that Fronzz and Chad197 stand guard around the stones. The Tower of Life- I suggest that Trobigod and Xewleer stand guard at the Tower of Life. I think that covers most of the locations. Aye or nay for the plan (the only thing I'm concerned with is that some might not be online, but if they are, we'll have a good chance of stopping the WOM)?
  23. Even if we did know, we have no clue when it is going to happen. They might do it on 7/7/07 for a joke, but there isn't really anything conclusive. As for me, I think his next move is against the Wizard's Tower, and then he might take a quick trip to the Life Tower. Or he could free Zaros first, which would probably be better. Except us. Well, I'll die within seconds, but you and Trobigod would last a while. But I hope he attacks the Life Tower after the Wizard's Tower, as I want those Guthix followers... what's the word? 'Owned' I think. Something like that. Anyway, I'll get ready for battle. It could happen at any time. Of course, if we're losing all the famous players could magically appear out of nowhere to help us, but that's like a 1 in a 1,000,000 chance. :P
  24. Well, it's a bit difficult to side with WOMDA because I'm a Zaros follower, and generally want to be hated. :P Actually, I think you might be right in a sense. They could still be runes, but they also tell us something- the apocalypse is coming. Only, we don't know when. Maybe these stones tell us? A lot of people missed the meeting- I almost did due to lag. Hang on... you're right. But you said a very important word- life. What if someone were to, say, mix all these runes together? We might possibly get Life Runes! So, our plan of defence is to get to the Life Tower pronto, merge the runes, and create the Life Runes. Then we summon the Army of Life and march on the forces of darkness. This could be the key to stopping the WOM! Of course, he's not stupid- he'll likely send guards to the Tower to stop us (though I think Trobigod will make short work of them). Hey, I might actually stay with WOMDA, since we do have a small chance of surviving. Sorry Zaros- I'll still worship ya even when you're dead. :P I actually think zooming in on the eye adds to the mystery of it all. They're brilliant as they are.
  25. After some thinking, I have come to the conclusion that the Editor is interfering with the game code to allow him/herself to be the Drunken Dwarf. It makes perfect sense. In the guise of the Drunken Dwarf, the Editor can appear anywhere he/she wants, tracking down famous players for interviews. He/she can also use their ability to teleport anywhere to do research, taking much less time than it would to travel all over RuneScape. Basically we are looking for someone that has very good computer skills. :P
