Investigating the Wise Old Man
Wasn't Dionysus also one of the many sons of Zeus? This would fuel the theory of the WOM possibly being Ikov. If this is true, and a god war does iniciate, then the WOM would instantly gain the favour of Saradomin if he revealed himself to be his son. And if he were the leader of Opus Saradomin, he would be able to pass on information about the Wizard Tower on to the Black Knights. It's genius! The only thing he'll have to explain is why he suddenly and mysteriously vanishes whilst the Tower is being bombarded. However, if the WOM is the leader, then what part does King Roald have to play in all this? He is of importance due to the link between his portrait and bed to the Tower. Anyway, brilliant job Darkluniux! You never cease to amaze me. :P

biggest possible max hit!!
Well if you got that amount of hitpoints, rushed to Castle Wars, and someone collapsed a tunnel on you, couldn't you technically hit a huge amount? Or does tunnel collapse only max at 99?

Is a macro for reporting macroers allowed?
Dude, your feeble attempt at an insult is hilarious. Anyway, I'm not entirely sure about this. It's for a good cause, but could potentially upset REAL people out there (as in, getting reported and possibly banned when you're not one). We really need an official response from Jagex about this one, as it is ironic ( at Bubsa).

Investigating the Wise Old Man
Certainty of death. Small chance of success. Lots of explosions. Loss of valuable limbs. I like it. Going kamikaze against the WOM? He'll never expect that. Of course, we'll have to work out who goes first. Since Bloody Scife is so... eager to participate, I'm sure he'll be delighted if we strap the explosives to him and send him running pell mell into the army. Mwahahah! :P

Investigating the Wise Old Man
It sort of looks like an eye and a Freemason sign. Or both crossed together if you prefer. :P Are you perhaps talking about the rumoured RuneScape 3? I doubt it's going to come, but that would be a good way to introduce it. Hmm, WOMDA vs. The Wise Old Man and his army of highly powerful, Barrows armour wearing god opposers. Em, anyone think that we'll live longer than 5 seconds?

Someone will sue Jagex! Information taken from forums!
So he thinks that everyone is going to automatically agree with him? Surely he knows that hundreds of people adore Player Killing. He doesn't know that there is such a thing as a Report Button. You can sue someone if you lose your items in a game? Wow, news to me. If he could spell better it would have sounded a lot more official. Plus his demands are- um, well stupid. I wish I could think of a better insult but my brain is too busy processing ways of how to stop laughing. I thought you had to be far older than 4 to be eligible for suing someone. Also, if he does try to kill someone, he'll likely just end up giving them a bruise (unless he uses a weapon, which I doubt). That's assault, so he himself could get sued (or his parents if he is as young as I previously stated). The irony. That's hilarious.

The 'Age' Arguement
You're never too old to play games. If that's what you find fun, so be it- don't let others spoil it for you. There are plenty of adult players out there in RuneScape, yet some children seem to overlook that and believe that THEY are the only age groups that play. So when they meet an adult, they'll automatically believe that these people are sad because they're in 'their' game. I am, of course, talking about the immature groups who think they own the place. Thankfully, not all children are like this. As Abyssalwhip nicely put it: He's perfectly right. Age doesn't matter- maturity is what matters. However, to be honest I prefer to converse with adults/older teenagers. In my school, it is nigh impossible to have an intelligent conversation with my classmates. Then again, my class only talks about stupid things, though I doubt that has anything to do with the fact that we're 13 year olds.

What Do You Think......
Most useful- this is a tough one, as quite a few are very helpful. Woodcutting is brilliant for money, mining can be a good money maker too (especially if you can mine Runite), smithing- well, without it we wouldn't have some fabulous armour/weapons would we? :P And of course, cooking is indeed useful for combat, for very obvious reasons. Fishing is quite good for cash as well of course, and magic can be used for darn near everything. So I'd have to say magic, even though I hate it. Least useful- well, I'd have to say firemaking myself. However, it does have a marginally important use- the ablity to cook anywhere you want. Brilliant if you're on say, Karamja (f2p) as there aren't any ranges nearby, yet you want all that freshly cooked lobster or swordfish.

Investigating the Wise Old Man
Yet, what if someone were to actually kill/destroy Icthlarin? That would upset the whole system, and may inevitably lead to mass outrage amongst non-Saradominists. They'd see it as a good cause to attack him, as they'll believe that he is the only one who could have conspiried to do this. But they'd be wrong, yet it would be too late to realise that they'd created a God War, blaming it on the wrong god! Thus why I believe that the WOM needs either the help of Zaros or Amascut. The death of Icthlarin (quite ironic, no?) would trigger a huge surge of hatred towards Saradominists. However, would the Tower be Lumbridge Saradominists or Faladin Saradominists? If they are Lumbridge Saradominists, then maybe it is fact that Icthlarin brings Lumrbidge Saradominists back from the dead, and this could be used against them (as I've said about non-Saradominists). It is possible that the Tower will have a reason to blame Zamorakians, as they may believe they caused this. Now, whilst they are confused and fearing death, a band of black knights invades the Tower, slaughters everyone, nicks all their books, runes etc. and burns down the Tower. If that doesn't start it I don't know what will. And I'm just a rogue trying to make money out of hunting people down. Yet Zaros is quite awe inspiring. Come to the purple side KC... we have swordfish! And he was right, in so many ways.

Ditch in Wilderness?
Could the delay cause a significant price decrease for the amount of money that could be made per hour (if going there mainly for cash of course)? If so, this ditch could be a major blow to Runecrafters. Hm, wonder if anything has happened at the RuneScape website rants forum.
-
Ditch in Wilderness?
No I didn't. I'm talking about the majority of children in RUNESCAPE and not real life. And before the word children I said 'little, immature, and annoying' meaning as in a kind. The other half consists of well mannered and intelligent adults, teenagers, and indeed children who probably have been playing before the age rule came about.

Investigating the Wise Old Man
Well technically no one in RuneScape can die as they are immediately reborn again in Lumbridge. Anyway, I have a feeling that the afterlife for followers of Zaros (Zarosians?) is just nothing. It would sort of fit in with his status as the Empty Lord. However, that also leads me to think that his physical form may be 'hollow' or empty as such. Like if he were to have an exoskeleton. I thought KC didn't follow any god. :P
-
Ditch in Wilderness?
You don't usually call teenagers 'children.' Or are you calling me little, immature, and annoying?
-
Ditch in Wilderness?
Are you perhaps implying that everyone under the age of 15 is stupid? That's quite a stereotypical view of the younger teenager. We are not all idiots. In fact, there are/have been child geniuses out there, who are in fact more intelligent than some adults. I do know that half of the RuneScape population is made up of annoying, little, immature children, but having such black and white views is rather absurd, don't you think? Posts like this annoy me. It's like profoundly stating that all teenagers cannot converse/type in proper grammar, with absolutely NO evidence to back it up. Anyway, it is a good update on the whole, but unfortunately there are idiots out there who will still ignore the obvious signs of a lure and follow them over the ditch anyway. At the very least it will cut down luring to a small percentage, but it is still going to occur. And yes, I think Runecrafters will be very happy with this, especially if they are getting followed by a player killer to the Wilderness. Of course, it works even better if that particular player uses melee.

Investigating the Wise Old Man
Icthlarin looks scarily like Anubis to me, the god of embalming and preserving the dead. He also helps the dead person weigh their heart on a balance, with their heart at one end and the feather of truth at the other. If the heart is heavy with sin, the dead person will be eaten by a fearsome monster that is a cross between a crocodile, a lion, and a hippopotamus. However, if it is light and the feather weighs more, they will be allowed to pass on to Osiris, god of the underworld/afterlife. So, I'd guess that they took the idea of Icthlarin from Anubis, as they are basically the same thing. Out of interest, do we actually know much about the RuneScape afterlife? I know about Saradomin and his promise that his followers will spend eternal joy in paradise with him, but what of the Guthixi and the Zamorakians? Well I suppose Zamorakians would be treated to some form of Hell, but what of the Guthixi? And what of the worshippers of other gods, like: Armadyl, Zaros, Icthlarin, Seren, Amascut, etc? Well let's hope that this topic doesn't get on the weekly hot topic list, as we'll likely be swarmed with these 'duh' posts. I think these 'duh' posts are down to people thinking to themselves 'omg it a 65 pag tred wiht 1k+ replis! If we post their we loak gud!' I was here since page 15. And of course, our good old friend KC was here since page 1, because he started it!

Investigating the Wise Old Man
The Eye of Horus clearly. Offers protection (off to find more information). The ankh, a symbol of life. It also symbolises fertility and rebirth. It was later adopted by Christians and altered slightly to give a symbol for the resurrection of Christ (rebirth). Haven't a clue about the others- perhaps Darkluniux can help us out? Thanks for the images by the way- I'm particulary interested in the appearance of the ankh. Shantay Pass leads into the desert doesn't it? And doesn't Ichthlarin (spelling?) have dominance mainly over the desert? And isn't he the god of death? This is interesting- it seems as though the ankh is showing the border between life and death. Hence why I think we might find that little eye symbol somewhere in the desert. Also, the ankh being so similar to the cross seems to be linked somewhat to Christianity, and likely the apocalypse.

Weekly Poll: Which of the following would you like...
City guides would actually be rather helpful. If you include quest start points, mini-game locations etc. it may prove easier for people to find what they are looking for. Also, if historial information is included on the cities, it could make an interesting read. It may also be useful for a certain thread to do with investigating a certain NPC who lives in Draynor. :P However, despite this, I think more monster hunting guides would be of more benefit to Tip.It users. There are what... three guides there? They are all brilliantly written of course, but that section is looking slightly empty. I'm not a Member, and never have been, but I can easily tell that more guides on the practice of monster hunting for wealth or whatever well help the majority of P2P monster hunters.

Professional Chauffeur Services?
And much faster. However, lower levels do not have access to most teleportation spells, so it may appeal to them. If you lower the prices that is.

What's the rarest thing to find in Runescape?
Actually, in my experience the stupidest people are generally around combat level 40. They ask pretty dumb questions like, what's a chicken? Is this Yanille (in a f2p server)? Do you have to be a certain combat level to kill goblins? All of these questions would've been written in far worse grammar. Anyway, as for the rarest thing in RuneScape, probably a world devoid of macroers or autoers. I'm not even sure if that's possible though. Another rare thing would be to find Varrock Sewers completely empty. Well I'm level 70 and couldn't really care less. He's just saying that it's rare for such a thing to occur.

Who Has The Best Avatar &/Or Sig!?
In my opinion guides just confuse me. I find any guide on computers quite difficult to grasp and end up doing the wrong thing half the time. I prefer to learn everything myself. Sort of like trial and error. Now I can produce pretty cool effetcs with the simplest of tools, but I couldn't be bothered to show any on here. Well actually they'll look awful compared to anyone elses, but I'm still satisfied with what I can do. And I can do a lot more than my signature shows. :P Bionicle right? I loved those toys when I was 5. Then I lost interest in toys altogether. And Swedishboy, I like the way you made the Swedish flag out of simple objects. Quite clever actually. I kinda like it.

20 Old Men In One Place?
I just saw it in World 16. They were surrounding a level 3 in Freaky Forester clothing. Around 3 Mysterious Old Men would appear for around 5 seconds, then disappear again. I'm quite certain it is bug abuse, unless it was an error made by Jagex.

Who Has The Best Avatar &/Or Sig!?
Lee Van Cleef might do it I'm afraid. :P For best signature, well, Jwrm22's is just plain hilarious. Same goes for his avatar. When I first got Photoshop I didn't even know how to use the move tool... Strangely, I find Photoshop things out via random clicking, and if I like it I go back to it.

Investigating the Wise Old Man
I get the distinct impression that Lumbridge have allied themselves with Kandarin, though I do not see why. Could a member possibly talk to all (I know, this'll take you forever) the citizens of Kandarin? They might let slip something about why their shields are in Lumbridge. There's something very interesting in the information about this kingdom- they are rumoured to have connections with lands west of the mountains, where nobody has been since the God Wars. Freneskae (how do you spell it?), anyone? I'm stumped. The only conclusion I can possibly draw is that the people of Gielinor are slowly drifting away from all the three gods to worship a greater deity. A deity thought dead a long time ago, but in fact was still alive, waiting for the chance to get revenge against Zamorak. Zaros could be coming back. Anyway, another possible conclusion is that they have fused all three gods together to create the ultimate god, and they make note of it by crossing three symbols/colours of the three gods together. And a final theory is that they simply worship any god they feel like. What I find even more weird is that they have the colour purple. That is the colour of Zaros. What is it doing in a town (Varrock) which worships both Zamorak and Saradomin? Both of the gods hate Zaros, yet a place where they are worshipped has his colours. I doesn't make any logical sense. If so, it just goes to show that black knights are pretty dim when they can't even see they're being used in a greater plot. They're going to their deaths, and they don't know it. Mm, thing is, the WOM is quite greedy. Joe wanted money yes, but he was willing to help others no matter what (remember the young woman, her husband and her child?). The WOM is selfish, and he doesn't care about anyone else, as long as he gets what he wants. :P Gah, forgot to welcome our newest member. Welcome Lationking! Those pictures you provided were excellent, and I'm sure that they'll help us a lot. It's great that you're investigating Morytania for us too. :D That's where I saw them! On the entrance banners (coming from Draynor), before the update, I recall seeing the two suns that are the symbols of Asgarnia. This is very odd behaviour by Jagex to replace the original Asgarnian symbols with Kandarin ones. And welcome back Chady. Great to have you back on the investigation team. :D

Investigating the Wise Old Man
I apologise Randox- I thought the sun symbol was on the two banners of the entrance to Lumbridge coming from Draynor, however it is not. I will investigate Lumbridge and all surrounding areas though, as I'm 99% sure I saw that symbol somewhere. Oh, and that symbol on the Asgarnian banner looks rather like a sun doesn't it? Of course, they are using the old ray drawing- the symbol on the Faladin rock uses triangles for the rays of the sun. I still find it rather curious though. Good job on those pictures Randox. Just so you know, something similar to the Kandarin symbol is in Melzar's Maze- on a shield stuck on the inner wall, in fact. I don't think you would need a key to see it. About the carpets- I had a look at pictures of the castle wars portal entrance rooms, and found three carpets exactly like this one (thanks for the image Randox). However, they were painted in the colours of the three gods- blue for Saradomin, green for Guthix (the random portal) and red for Zamorak. Oddly, the carpet in that picture is red. Why would Zamorakian carpets be in Lumbridge castle? I also believe that Guthix may have some small influence over Varrock, as there are green carpets in the Jolly Boar. Could Guthixi (I actually quite like that) spies be operating in the inn? Perhaps there is also an Opus Guthix? And finally, as for the duchess- haven't a clue what to make of it. I do find it interesting though, and it seems like it's going to pave way for a quest.

Investigating the Wise Old Man
I have the feeling that they may either be spying on Roald, or are possibly going to assassinate him. Due to the fact that there was one in the Jolly Boar, and then two others appeared, we may possibly be seeing more black knights soon. Possibly an invasion of Varrock to kill Roald? If he is the leader of our little Opus Saradomin, then having him out of the way would mean sure victory for Zamorakians over the Tower. So, the WOM might not need to lay a finger on it- he could just get an army of black knights and dark mages (strange that there are two dark mages at the Draynor willows with a black knight stationed close by) and have them destroy the Tower. It would be a better ploy to get the Saradominists and Zamorakians fighting against each other, as if he were to raid the Tower, there are high possibilities that someone would see him an escape his grasp. The WOM must not let anything ruin the plan. It might not be just witches then- it could be just magic users. Hmmm... wasn't/isn't magic condemned by the Christian Church? I'm not quite sure what having magic tied in with a symbol of the Gielinor apocalypse may mean. Oh, and KC, that little thing directed at me is going in my signature. ETA: I did a little investigation of the Jolly Boar. Some images for you to ponder on: Strange, these seem to be coloured in the colours of Guthix, yet have Saradominist symbols on them. Saradomin shield thingamajig. Oh lovely, a carpet full of black Saradomin symbols! Some more carpets. Interestingly, in total I count four carpets downstairs. There's the dreaded number again... Our very own black knight.
