  1. Explanation for why you are saying this? For not implementing the 'compromise' that we have now as the original, one and only update. <_<
  2. Mod Chris, Mod Chris.....I love you to death.....
  3. I'm glad that Jagex is taking care of the needs of the less-abled. However, I'm angry of that fact that this means sacrificing the needs of the majority of the players: Elite content. I'm even angrier with the fact that that there's no way with verify who's needing this update, but everyone would be taking advantage of it anyway. Like someone said, at least give a token to someone who dies at Jad, and exchange that 10 (or more, MORE) tokens for the right to fight strykewyrms. If you're willing to die at Jad that many times, due to whatever your issue is (or wasting resources without putting up a fight), I'll give in to you.
  4. It has been suggested many times by many players that those who do not have fast internet connections are more than able to relocate to an internet café or a library. Yes, because a middle-aged woman/man is going to feel comfortable sitting in their local library taking up a computer for two hours, which people genuinely may need, to play a "childs game", as many brand it. Right. I'm not going to discuss this any further, as what I'm saying is "falling on deaf ears", my whole point is being missed. Not everyone has 2 hours with a stable internet connection to get through the caves without dying. Going by my own personal experience where I had not got a stable internet for more than minutes at a time or atleast 6 months, nothing was really possible in-game. Fight caves would have been utter madness. If they're not willing to play Runescape in a public place, they must not really want that fire cape badly enough. Unless you live in the Amazon rain forest and you've built your computer out of twigs and animals bones, you probably live close enough to a library or café with decent enough internet access to complete the caves. I lol'ed at this IRL. That being said, I wondering how your friends can handle the burrow attack that deals 30 damage when you don't respond in time.
  5. I'm sure the whiners would once again make sure that the requirement get "changed" to requiring the lousiest CW set. Why worry? <_<
  6. If they knew what their ideology was, they wouldn't have requried the Fire Cape in the first place. *Adds fire cape as requirement* Mod 1, "Say, what was Jagex's ideology again?" Mod 2, "THIS IS SPART....I mean, accessible content for all?" Mod 1, "OMFG!" *nerfs the requirement*
  7. I'm thinking of a 4 digit number, starting with 5.
  8. I'll be expecting the next Tip.It Times article to discuss this issue. <_<
  9. Nah, that's not the way to intepret it. You see, based on Mod Emilee's non-existing option, we can conclude that: 1. Something will be changed 2. The Fire Cape requirement will stay 3. A compromise would not be instituted ...which probably means that they'll burn their own servers tonight and delay this issue for another two weeks or so.
  10. Considering that crossbows do not affect the max damage you can deal, and if there's dragon metal bolts it would be too expensive for everyday use, and the fact that almost every standard rune weapon has a dragon counterpart, a dragon crossbow wouldn't be that bad, nor surprising. It's just going to have a special attack, is all. Let's see..... A special attack that creates four sillouettes of your avatar and fires 2 rapid rounds of 4 x 50% damage shots, and turns your opponents auto retaliate off, after which you carry on firing 1 x 100% shot while he looks for the real target to hit?
  11. And your point? Fire Cape should be removed? If someone wants to put your account at risk, that's their issue. It has nothing to do with the requirement itself.
  12. Bring your half-[wagon] assumptions to the RSOF. Edit: Actually no, that's trying to degrade the community on the RSOF further. Just bring it somewhere else. The truth hurts, doesn't it? No wonder I'm not feeling anything. But this is getting flamey, and you're the flame baiter with that "I bet this and that" statement. Like I said, if you don't have a better point than "I bet.....", then you shouldn't bother posting. Especially not in front of a guy with no fire cape yet, and excited about trying out Fight Caves (me).

  14. No one is. The guys who can't do it are bashing themselves in hope for a bit of pity and a compromise.
  15. I can name one reason: Laggy connections. Its the one main reason i will never attain a fire cape,,, (untill of coure better pc or internt, both i have to pay for comes along) But i, Personally don't care otherwise, just that post above bugged me And what's stopping you from going to a friend's house? A library? Sigh this is gonna turn into the new should f2p get skill capes debate isn't it? For one you might be in the country where everyones internet connection is the same, if they have any at all. 2nd, just personally but the nearest library is a 3 hr round trip. not everyone lives in a city where you can have anything in a 10 minute walk. Then don't play the game. Just because of your personal issues (no money to pay members, no good connection to fight Jad among other dangerous game content), doesn't mean that we compromise on everything. Is the world unfair? I'm glad you realised that. That applies even for a game. But hey, Jagex won't hear us here. I need to devote more time to posting on the RSOF. Fine then lets start having country specific updates. I mean after all its not jagex's problem that you don't live in say pakistan. Same concept really just because you live in a certain area you are unable to access this content. And the world is only unfair because people like you refuse to try and change it. Of course it's not Jagex's problem where I stay, or how much I have for membership/better internet connectivity, which is why they DON'T NEED to create country specific updates. I've lived through a time where a better connection would seem like too much of a luxury, and boss trips were a big no-no. You're wasting energy seeking fairness in a game.

  17. For the people saying they have issues with reflexes and/or internet connection (and advocating the idea of 'time should be able to solve everything in RuneScape'), even if you remove the 2 hours of grinding prior to seeing Jad, they won't be able to beat it anyway, so what makes this point a legitimate argument?
  18. Not everyone prefers that though. I am very happy with the job the did with re-coloring the whips. The coloring adds for some individuality without the loss of functionality (eg. with painted rune helmets/shields.). Are you a red person, yellow, or perhaps green? Alot can be said about the color you choose, or did not choose. So I, along with many other people, certainly wouldn't mind seeing some more items like that. Not everything has to be so serious. Some things are just for fun. It gets serious when customisation is linked to a minigame reward. I like a wide variety of customisation, and many MMOs offers this freely, such as in the example I gave a few posts back. They way they are doing it feels something like, "Treasure Trail now gives out a white beret. But you guys can go play a minigame with no link to the item to change its colour to black or blue, though it makes them untradeable. Same with elegant clothing." That being said, some weapons are related to the monster who drops it. A lime green granite maul looks weird, no matter how 'customisable' your avatar may be now.
  19. I think the idea of D&D is to eventually assist every single skill in the game with a more interesting way of getting your logs and charms and mining EXP. So I would consider it an expected update. None of the D&D I know so far is overwhelmingly overpowered compared to the training methods we have either.
  20. I always thought that the trim on TT itmes should look more vibrant than just the colors we have now. That is more of a graphical rework than a coloring update though. While I was talking about Maplestory, I went back to check an old fansite for that game that I used. I think a brief look at their variety of weapons for meleer tells you how lacking RuneScape is in the area of customisation. . http://sea.hidden-street.net/eq/weapons (if you don't feel safe about clicking, don't) Granted the game has a class system, so you can't use every single item there. But if weapons in RS such as scimitars aren't so much better compared to the rest of the weapons in the same set, we might actually see more people in longswords, halberds, battleaxes and war hammers. RuneScape has the advantage of allowing players to be anything they want, so I don't understand why they don't put in more effort in the area of customisation.
  21. Not another alternative colour update.... <_< Alternative colours for TT items can easily be added to the TT list of possible loot. Choices like crystal bow and lunar staff have their counterparts in the set, changing one without changing the rest looks weird to me. Dark bow is.....dark. Alternative pet rock colours can just be added to the game, much like variations for cats, squirrels.....you get the idea. Why go through a minigame that has no link to the items? If Jagex is suddenly so concerned with colour alternatives for equipment, they should just adopt a similar system like that of Maplestory (or just any other MMOs you know of). One armour/weapon design, multiple colour choices for each level. Meaning the four dragonhides you see now should all belong to equipment for one defence level. Then design more armours with colour variation for the other levels as well. And make them all tradeable. There are better ways to incentivise Barbarian assault than providing a service that would have been freely given in other MMOs.
  22. No support. Not much of a difference between foraging fruits and trading for bones, and foraging bones directly. Other than *slightly* affecting the prices of bones in the market. However, a low level familiar that automatically buries any bones on the ground belonging to your kill. And randomly forages bones. Of course, it would be graveyard related.
  23. I don't mind if there isn't a new familiar, just make them able to attack monsters you attack in single combat areas. That being said, I was really pleased when they finally fixed the problem of familiars interrupting your actions when they teleport to you, and removed the 'no familiar' rule with various travelling methods. I think they also fixed the issue of familars not attacking monsters you attacked if you were safespotting?
  24. This is obviously a hint to FT 3.
  25. -Jagex wants an item that is fire-themed -Jagex wants an item that is combat related, and commonly used in Slayer over several items that might be fire-themed -Jagex wants to exclude loot farmers from the actual slayers for strykewyrms -Jagex wants to keep the content elite* *The interpretation of elite varies with different content. In this case, it refers to combat skill in defeating Jad, not patience in grinding. My general definition of an elite is one that can do EVERYTHING in the game. I don't remember any alternative that doesn't destroy any of the above purpose. If you feel that Fire Cape is a barrier preventing you from accessing this monster, I agree. Jagex should make the ice wyrms themselves as lethal as tormented demons. There you have it, direct access to the wyrms as long as you have 93 Slayer. Bottomline is, Jagex is all out to make this task tough. The only difference is whether they want you to make a one time payment by passing the Fight Caves ONCE, or just make the monster itself real tough. The latter isn't very practical, since you're getting excessive adrenaline rush throughout the whole task, therefore the former is the preferred choice. I posted something similar on the RSOF, and thus far only one guy made a pretty decent yet funny suggestion. See, the issue here is "Not being able to access the Ice Strykewyrm due to lack of Fire Cape". Therefore, this guy suggested that players can fight the Ice Strykewyrms without Fire Cape, but as such the SOL will be frozen in the carcass and disappear together with it (Zero chance of getting SOL as a drop). Techically speaking, you can now ACCESS ice wyrms as long as you have 93 slayer, and you can still obtain SOL by other means (soon). Voila! Issue of exclusiveness solved.
