Global warming - Do you mind it?
All northern regions of the earth are warming up twice as fast contra warmer regions. Global warming is just one part of the crap we humans do. If you have, like me, grown up with cold winters and snow... You are used to it, and then later on it f'ing rains in december... Then you know something isn't right. I'm a keen sports fisher, and been so for 15 years, and then you suddenly hear that the lakes are getting more sour (don't know proper english word) and that the fish is getting more toxic... It makes you think. If you like nature, wheter you like hiking, fishing or hunting, i think it's easier for such a person to "take in" all of the problems, than one who lives in the city and rarely goes to the forest. I saw on Top Gear (which is not a program for pro-nature) a very intresting car in one of the lastest episodes of season 12 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_FCX_Clarity Such a car has a much brighter future than something like an ordinary electric car that you have to charge for several hour. And there is two older topics on several pages, just depends on how far back you go. I do my share, i put plastics and such in the bin for burning and food in the one for compost... Sorting batteries in one place and lighbulbs in another... I've also started eating less meat. And i'm used to take my bike to alot of places since i don't have a lisence.

Question about eBay and hardware.
Hm, i found some very nice prices... 8800gts (512) for 100$, 8800gs for 50£, 3870 for 75 on Amazon, but neither ships to Sweden lol. I checked on german amazon, but i didn't find much in my price range. Bah. I might as well keep to money for some extra pocket money for my trip to Germany in 10 days lol. I'll wait and see if i find some deals, otherwise i guess i'll go with a 4670.

Decent Gfx card?
HD4670/4830 or 9600/9800GT if you just play at that res... You'll be able to play any new game with high settings and get good frame rates in that res.

Debated Enough - Can Close or Be Left Alone.
Oil cooled works, yes, but you don't get any benefits from it. The temps are around the same as with air-cooling, and it will take a lot of work, it won't even look good. Buy an antec skeleton chassi and hang it upside-down in the ceiling.

Question about eBay and hardware.
Hi. I've never been a big fan of trading used stuff on the internet (i might go to a record-dealer that sells used cd's, but that's about it). I know hardware isn't maybe the best thing to buy from such a bidding site, seeing as it could be non-working when it arrives.. damaged during shipping... etc etc. My current cash situation doesn't allow me to spend more than about 80 euros (shipping included) (being a student is fun), i saw a 4670 (new) for 70eu on a hardware-store in my country a couple of weeks ago, but now that i got the money it's gone up to about 90eu. I've seen a couple of 8800gt's for my price range - example: http://global.ebay.com/Nvidia_GeForce_8 ... 62324/item I've always been sceptical towards these bidding sites as the seller could sell a damaged part or not even send it at all. If anyone has any experience with buying used hardware from such a site, please tell me what your experience is. It seems pretty safe to buy from someone who has been registred for a long time with postive feedback, but i'd just like to know your experiences. Thanks.

Valkyrie
I have a problem with seeing historic films when they aren't portrayed in the original language. It just seems weird with that Cruise guy to portray a nazi. It's probably quite a good movie, I've only seen a teaser. I recommend you to see "Der Untergang (in german)" and "Hitler - The Rise of Evil (in english)".

What did you get for Christmas?
Wait, hold up. Author? Because I suddenly worry for the validity of the one I read. Author is some swedish dude called "Bengt Liljegren". I just flipped thru a couple of pages and saw two incorrect facts: His family-tree ends in 1997, which is incorrect, since he has relatives living in USA atm. 2, it says he didn't care about his family, wrong again, he was very very attached to his mother.

Oh right, crap lol... Didn't read carefully enough.

=Your problem. The other computer i have here has that integrated chip too, rs2 is no problem but rshd... hehe... doesn't run well. You could possibly throw in something like ati 4350 if your motherboard supports pci-e and your psu is around 300w.

What did you get for Christmas?
A few import-beers, a Hitler biography book (which is full of incorrect facts, which i'll return to the shop), a book about the swedish army at Poltava, some "deluxe" deoderant, candy, some cash and a Corsair vx550w psu.

I Want Runescape HD soo Bad. please help
The client which you can download at the RS homepage in the download section. Try loading RS via another web-browser, such as Opera or Firefox. You could also try uninstalling your current Java version and download the latest one from their page. Your hardware is not the problem.

Windows Vista.
Similar to the plug&play graphics cards for desktops, but it isn't widely used (too bad). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MXM No, there's nothing you can do. XP would make the computer a bit faster, yes, but it doesn't mean you'll be able to play anything else than tetris and rs.

Windows Vista.
Since it's a laptop you basically can't change anything except the ram. Sorry, you'll have top buy a new laptop or desktop since not many laptops use mxm.

Do you like to read?
If i'm gonna read a newspaper, aftonbladet and expressen can shove their paper up their [wagon]. And if i don't want to read a left-wing paper there's basically just one paper (i hate those left-wing papers), so i read Dagens Nyheter (which is the best newspaper if i don't wanna read online). Otherwise i enjoy reading about music history, northern Europe (mostly Scandinavia), swedish airplanes and fishing.

Here's a puzzler for you [RSHD Crashes on Laptop]
Like I said, I've tried Epiphany and Firefox (in addition to Prism). I've given Opera a shot, but it runs way too slow. What other browsers are there? Kazehakase? I've given that a whirl, with no success (lots of segfaults). What about IE? Doesn't exist anymore for *nix. Here's a list for you makoto... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_we ... Unix/Linux

'tis the season for a new mouse (what-to-buy thread)
My Razer Diamondback lasted about 6 months of heavy use (WoW lol). I wouldn't recommend them unless their quality has improved, which it very well might have. Hm, interesting. A friend has a Razer (dunno which model) for her mac, which she's used a couple of years... And she plays UT, D2 etc... Haven't heard of a breakdown. Anyways, i have a Saitek... Good options for the low price (tho my model isn't produced anymore).

Hard Drive Fail
Although it may be a good safety precaution to ground yourself to prevent risk of electrical shock, in reallity of the risk is not great. Computer components have relatively low current(less than .3 mA which is considered the threshold of perception meaning that you would heal a slight shock(similar to static electricity)). However, it is a good idea to rid yourself of static electricity so you don't accidentally allow more current to go through the circuits than what is intended. But if you like to be safe, by some alligator clips. I've fried a motherboard a couple of years ago due to statics. And believe me, it can very well happen. It would be damn right stupid not to ground yourself before touching any of the components, ask anyone that knows about hardware.

Phenom II prices and review
The inofficial speed was 6313mhz without crashing. I've known this for a couple weeks tho... But yes, they are certainly good the new Phenoms (the original architecture was actually made for 45nm, that's why the current ones doesn't perform as they are supposed to do). If i have the money i will be picking up one of the DDR3's:925 or the 910.
